Good drive overall
Pros: Simple setup, runs quiet, and works great with the USB 3.0 kit.
Cons: This thing gets hot. It's sitting on my desk in an open area and the room temperature is on the cool side, but it's still coasting around 54-55c. I spoke with support and was told that was acceptable as the redline is 60c. I'm not sure I like the idea of being within a few degrees of "redline" when the drive is idle.
Overall Review: This is only my second day owning the drive, so things may change. Overall I'm happy with it, I just worry about its lifespan with as hot as it is currently running.
Follow-up
Pros: Large capacity, quick transfer
Cons: I reviewed a while back about the heat. Well it hasn't changed, but no issues there. I have been having issues with the drive not powering down after shutting down my PC. After several hours searching google and talking with tech support, it seems this is a pretty common issue. Supposedly the drive was designed to run at all times. If you google it and read through the seagate forums you'll see what I'm talking about.
Overall Review: Overall it's a decent drive. I am concerned about it running all of the time at the temps it runs it and how it'll affect its lifespan.
Works great
Pros: Sounds a lot better than my old Audigy SE. People can actually hear my speak as well, so that's definitely a plus. I got it on sale for a very good price and I couldn't be happier at this point.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: If I had a gripe it would be at my mobo for only having one PCI-e x1 slot :(
Gets the job done
Pros: Does what it's supposed to and seems to do it well. I used this to route the sound from my PC to my TV.
Cons: None
Works Great
Pros: Fairly inexpensive, feels heavy duty, works as it should.
Cons: It wasn't free?
Best I've owned
Pros: Stable, plenty of cables, quiet
Cons: None really. Sure it's not modular, but I knew that when I bought it.
Overall Review: I've had this for over 3 years with heavy use. Not a single problem with it and it's still running perfectly. Build: Evga 750i F.T.W. Intel q6600 4gb Corsair DDR2 Dominator 2x Evga 8800GT in SLI PCI-e 1x Creative X-FI Champ series
