Ultra fast Gen4 ssd, maybe even one of the fastest hyper m.2 drives

XPG GAMMIX Gaming S70: 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive
XPG GAMMIX Gaming S70: 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive

Pros: The S70 was installed as an OS drive on my machine Ryzen 5600x paired with a massive CPU air cooler on ASRock B550 mobo without removing any of the components. Just removed the ASRock m.2 armor shield and dropped this drive in and screw in a tiniest screw which btw came with my board. There is zero clearance issue with the S70 heatsink so called 'massive' like some reviewers claim. XPG S70 2TB is the fastest Gen 4 ssd. Take a look at my CrystalDiskMark benchmark and then check the other Gen 4 ssd reviews and see it for yourself.

Cons: A little pricey, if not in a hurry wait for sale. It seems the heatsink is somewhat hard to remove but I don't plan on removing it. It fits great with B550 SL mobo.

Overall Review: This Gen 4 ssd didn't disappoint. Get the 2TB SSD for maximum R/W and longevity. The firmware it came with is 3.2.F.P7 and it does NOT need to be updated. You can try the lastest field update tool to check. It won't brick the drive. ADATA got a lot of flack for swapping the controller earlier this year, but fear not the XPG S70 controller they are using an InnoGrit IG5236 controller and Micron 96L is safe.

Great idling cooler that falls to its knees under heavy load

CRYORIG H7 Tower Cooler For AMD/Intel CPU with 120mm PWM Fan
CRYORIG H7 Tower Cooler For AMD/Intel CPU with 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Ultra low idle temp and pros end here.

Cons: I'm so disappointed with this junk cooler. Why does this cooler have 5 eggs? I gave it one egg. See pros. Under heavy load this cooler can't handle FX-8350 at stock speed levels. The temperature was shooting over 70c. I even lowered vcore below stock. As soon as I saw the temps climb to over 70c I removed H7 and put back my old CM cooler. I have a CM cooler with push/pull method and it keeps it much cooler than H7 under heavy load. When gaming H7 can't handle the heat. Now you may think I messed up putting on the thermal compound. First application I tried their paste which they included. The temps were in 70c. Then I reapplied Arctic Silver 5 and put the cooler on nice and tight. H7 can't handle the load period..

Overall Review: I don't know what you guys are cooling and giving all these praises but if you are trying to cool FX-8350, STAY AWAY from this cooler. I started RMA process but decided to keep it because It's not worth sending it back.

The best SATA SSD to date

SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series 2.5" 1TB SATA III V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-77E1T0B/AM
SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series 2.5" 1TB SATA III V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-77E1T0B/AM

Pros: The best Sequential and Random 4K writes for a sata ssd.

Cons: Pricey get it when on sale

Overall Review: 870 Evo is the best SATA SSD drive period. I went from 850 Evo to 870 and the random 4k difference was big. Take a look a the attached benchmark and compare it to other SATA SSD drives.

Sky One Extra thick

Montech Sky One High-End ARGB Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower Gaming Case - USB Type C Port - High-Airflow - Black
Montech Sky One High-End ARGB Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower Gaming Case - USB Type C Port - High-Airflow - Black

Pros: Pullout glass. Modern front I/O. Reset button can be used to cycle through a dozen of different ARGB combinations. It was on sale. The case is wide enough to accommodated Aresgame River 5 CPU cooler without a problem.

Cons: Power LED is too bright. It illuminates the ceiling. Don't lean over at night and look directly in the light it will blind you. ARGB hub is not compatible with ASRock motherboards. I didn't pay attention to all the ARGB logos (ASRock wasn't one of them), but it's not a big deal. ARGB gets old after two days and you will end up either turning all lights off or just setting them static color. Back panel is kind of flimsily. They said extra thick panel and frame. Well the frame was flexing while installing an extra intake fan so don't be too rough with the extra thick frame. I know the case is heavy already as it is with the TG panel so they probably opted for a maximum thickness without building a tank.

Overall Review: **Update as of 8/6/2021 ASRock B550 Legend BIOS update , ARGB hub syncs with B550 Legend motherboard. YAY I can see why some had problems with the PSU compartment. Leave the PSU outside and feed your cables first. You won't have enough room to get to bottom headers. So connect your cables to the motherboard and then screw in your PSU. I've used Antec HC 750W modular PSU and the main connector could barely reach. I wish it had aluminum legs like Sky X. The case is not perfect but once you install your components , hide all the cables , peel off protective plastic foils, turn on argb light pollution, the case looks stunning.

The Legend has booted

ASRock B550 STEEL LEGEND AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock B550 STEEL LEGEND AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I like that it boots. It really works great with 5600X and G.Skill 3600 cl 14 ram after some voltage tweaking and manual OC. Actually lowering CDDO voltages did a trick running higher speed RAM. Zen 3 architecture is specific. Plenty of 4-pin fan headers. I was going to get X570 Legend but B550 was on sale

Cons: Only 1 gen 4 m.2 slot I wish the values in OC Tweker would have a selection to choose from after clicking on Auto so you can at least pick the next value. Instead once you click on Auto in blanks out and you really have to know Zen 3 specific setting voltages because there is no guessing. Maybe they have this feature where the value drop down is available to choose from in higher end boards like Taichi.

Overall Review: As the title says it booted but man, I took this mb in and out twice. Didn't want to boot at first. Fans came on for 2 sec and they would turn off but all RGB lights were on. No error. had to keep pulling the cord and trying to power button till it finally booted after I started to look for another PSU on NewEgg. If you guys have an error code check your RAM or CPU overclock. Gonna blame my Antec HC 750W on not wanting to power up at first cause the PSU was sitting in a box for 2 years. Bottom line, don't let one Gen 4 m.2 slot stop you from buying this board. I've been buying components for a long time but I've never had more trouble deciding which one Gen 4 m.2 ssd to buy lol. I mean there are DRAM and DRAMless, heatsink and no heatsink, clearance issues , thermal pad too mushy, high idle consumption, and so on.

I started RMA process but decided to keep it because It's not worth sending it back. This is an update cause I was going to order AM4 bracket and try to use this CPU cooler again but with Ryzen 5 5600X and I'm glad I didn't. Don't even bother buying their AM4 bracket. The bracket is plastic junk and this cooler is still junk because of bad design. Instead buy Vetroo V5 or Aresgame River 5 cooler. The only good part about this cooler is its fan. I'm using the fan but with a different cooler. I still have FX-8350 now paired with Vetroo V5 CPU cooler instead. Vetroo has 5 direct contact pipes and H7 doesn't. Now temps never go over 60c while gaming. With H7 CPU cooler temps would shoot over 72c and either the game would crash or it would produce BSOD due to reaching the thermal limit.

XPG S70 didn't disappoint

I bought XPG S70 2TB on the 17th and I got it delivered on the 20th. Direct signature was required but that's no problem cause the FedEx van came after 5 and handed the ultra fast Gen4 ssd drive directly to my hand. Maybe relate the direct signature required detail a little better next time.
