Power Supply Installation Guide Table of contents
This guide is a general introduction to PSU (Power Supply Unit or Power Supply) installation. The installation procedure may vary with different PSU and case types. Please refer to your PSU, case and other component manuals for detailed instructions.
1. Before the Installation Ensure the power supply is set to 115V mode when used in the United States by checking the AC voltage switch position (115V and 230V or 110 and 220V). Attention: The incorrect AC voltage will damage the power supply. Slide the PSU into the position from the inside of the PC case; secure the PSU with screws. Note: Certain types of cases are designed for PSU installation from the outside (a PSU cover located on the case may need to be removed before installation), see your case manual for more information. Plug the 20-pin/24-pin main power connector into the motherboard's matching power connector. Connect the 4-pin connector, SATA connector and 4-pin floppy connector into the corresponding devices Selected PSUs come with fan monitor/fan control connectors. If you want the motherboard to detect and/or control the PSU fan speed, please plug the PSU fan speed/fan control connector into the motherboard's corresponding header (often labeled as PWR_FAN). Check and make sure all devices are well connected with the PSU. Plug the AC cord into the PSU's AC inlet and then switch the power to "on" if your PSU has an on/off switch. Your system is ready to go – just press the power on button and you're ready to go! ![]() |
