These are an eccentric addition to my rig. They add a nice bit of color where you would otherwise have cabling. You can plug them into your existing cabling so you don't have to try to route the stiff wiring to your power supply (especially important for 24pin connectors to 1000w PS). The 8 pin is actually two 6+2 pin connections. It is perfect for an 8+6 pin gpu or to both 8 pin connections on two SLI gpus. it is unlikely you'll be able to route one two your cpu power MB connection and gpu power connection without altering the design.
