Pros: + This whole piece of kit is so aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful manufacturing and machine work that really does speak to the "Platinum" name. The black and silver color scheme is so classic and nice looking. + Fantastic cooling! Dropped 20 degrees at load off my OC'd i7 4790K, performing in the mid-50c range instead of the upper-70c range with my Cryorig H7. + The RGB customization is just ridiculous. 16 RGB LED's in the pump base, and 4 RGB LED's in each of the fans, all customizable at the per-LED level using Corsair's iCue software. Rainbow effects, pulsing, shifting, waves, even temperature-based color changes are all available. My favorite is definitely the temperature color monitoring though, so you can easily look inside your case and figure out how hot the CPU is running. + Speaking of customization, there are also presets of customization for the fan and pump control. If you want a quiet system, at the cost of being a little warm, you can have it. Prefer raw cooling power? You can do that too. This really is a one-size fits all solution, from not only customization but also CPU socket/architecture compatibility. + The fans are ridiculously quiet. There is a Zero RPM mode but obviously, that causes the CPU to warm up quite a bit. + Corsair's iCue software is very light on resources and runs quietly in the background on my Windows 10 Pro 1803 workstation. It doesn't sneak in any bloatware or junk which is also nice. + 5-year warranty!
Cons: - A bit pricey but like the saying goes "you get what you pay for". When you factor in the performance, the fans, the RGB customization and bells and whistles - I think it's priced fairly.
Overall Review: * Pay attention while hooking everything up! There are a lot of moving pieces here, and lots of things to plug in. I didn't have any problems, but if this is your first AIO water kit (which it was for me), definitely look over everything good and make sure you plug everything in. Luckily it is fairly easy to do but Corsair has great customer support if you have any issues. * After seeing the cooling performance, I wish I'd switched to a Corsair AIO water kit a long time ago!
Pros: +Nice kit finally having nice RGB options on fans and on pump +Good temps +quite pump +easy setup (make sure you get a case that is designed for water cooling) +price is reasonable for what you’re getting when talking about integrated RGB light system +fans have rubber molded on corners
Cons: -Price vs performance, you are paying a bit more for looks and a bit in extra quality/performance
Overall Review: First impressions, box looked pretty nice, I like the use of recycled materials for the inside packaging, don’t need too fancy stuff after the first glance at the packaging that will go into the trash/recycle bin at the end of the day(better that its made out of recyclable material). If you are doing a whole build, I recommend looking at the cases along with the water cooling system in mind at the same time. For me when I do upgrades. Water cooling is another world, this is such a pleasure to work with. There are 2 variables to consider besides the fans, that is water temp and pump duty cycle. I will say let the software do its thing with the duty cycle, and focus on water temp. The way I setup my quite system is run the apps that I normally run, watch the temps of the water, go back and tweak the fans to be working so that the water temp does not rise too much, then leave headroom for a benchmark like realbench, so the fans kick in and you do not go too high. I recommend using a mobo that has great config options for your fan headers, I did not really touch the Corsair software as the premium mobo fan header software does great job, and I was able to tweak everything I need that way, used few fan splitters and enough for whole case of fans. I did look at the software it is pretty configurable. I will say this about the Corsair software, they are improving things, I have lots of their products, and they seem to be headed into a good direction. I have been sold on water cooling systems for a while now, such as this H115i, so much so that I buy these for most of my systems, water does such a better job of absorbing those cpu spikes, and with some of these new high core count cpu’s you really need some serious cooling, even at stock speeds, and water cooling like the H115i deliver, otherwise if you go air expect your fans to spin up and down like a rollercoaster nonstop. I recommend this H115i series to just about anyone who knows how to build a system, if you buy with water cooling in mind then you will have a great experience for sure, and this RGB Platinum series is another step up aimed more so with premium parts and nice lighting. Is the price worth it? That all depends do you want performance and looks? Then yes, if you want plain performance at lower price point then no, go with any other plain vanilla H115i equivalent.
Pros: 140mm fans RGB LEDs Quiet Cools great It's Corsair
Cons: Non
Overall Review: Well I seem to review these quite often. I have received a couple from Newegg to review and bought a few other sets myself. I'm a big Corsair fan to start with but I'm not blinded by the name. I have owned items from Corsair and hated them. But not their water systems. Every system I try from Corsair exceeds my expectations. This unit is no different. Installing it is a breeze, it is quiet but cools very well. I have my 7800X clocked at 5GHz with temps I would expect at darn near stock speeds. What more can I ask for? Really nothing more at all. I have a couple of these Corsair water coolers running that have been running for years now, 24/7 365 and not a single failure. Corsair has proven to me that they make a quality cooling system and this one is no different. I don't care about the RGB and all that but I will admit its pretty sweet. My main goal is cool temps for my overclocked CPU and this cooler does a fine job of keeping my 5GHz chip running nicely. The fans can be heard when maxed out but its still quiet. I usually put my own fans on instead (Gentle Typhoons) but this is the first Corsair kit that made me think twice. The fans cool nicely and are quiet enough that I don't notice them. I do not use their software though so I cannot comment on it now. I have used it a long time ago and wasn't too impressed so since then I have stuck with my other fan control software but that doesn't take away the fact that this is one mean cooling system with pretty lights for those that like em. Its getting hard to review Corsair these days because almost everything I try from them exceeds my expectations. cases, PSU's, water cooling, some mice, headphones etc...they have become my go to company for quality PC kit. Don't take my word for it; go try this unit if you are in the market and let Corsair prove it to you. I'm sold for sure!
Pros: Kit is complete and is easy to unpack and install. Parts are all very high quality and the fit and finish is top notch. The 140mm fans are smooth and quiet. They also have rubber pads integrated into the housing to lower the likelihood of developing vibrations and squeaks when mounted to the radiator. The system is quiet. The pump head and fans are very quiet. I was not able to hear them at all while they were installed in the computer under the desk in my work shop. Depending on where/how this is installed the default / demo RGB profile may be a bit too much for some, but this is easily reprogrammed with the USB port and the iCUE software. I enjoyed watching it in my workshop while I was testing. Low CPU temps compared to air cooling and easily able to keep up with sustained high temps without breaking a sweat. Kept the CPU just 1-2 degrees above ambient temp at idle. I did not play around with the iCUE software at all, but the general sentiment seems to be that it is good and has a lot of customizability for the 24 total LEDs in the system (16 in the pump head, 4 in each of the fans)
Cons: Expensive, but you get what you pay for LGA775 not supported. I was originally going to test this on an LGA775 system since it can generate a lot of heat, but the old socket is not supported with this kit. Not a huge surprise as an LGA775 system should probably be put out to pasture by now, but worth noting.
Overall Review: Tested on an ASRock H81 mobo with 4GB of RAM and an i3 4340 Ambient temp 23c Idle temp 24c max CPU temp under load 69c max High CPU load generated using Prime95 using the Small FFTs profile. CPU started at 65c a few moments after starting Prime 95, and then maxed out at 69c for the duration of the 12 hour test.
Pros: I'm a sucker for lighting so I love the color lights on the fans and pump Keeps temps VERY cool I love the mounting hardware, it's really effortless
Cons: 280mm radiators are always tricky to install. Not really a con, but I could only align the radiator to two mounting points on my case
Overall Review: I actually had a previous version of the hydro series. What was nice was that I could reuse the back plate mount so installation was a lot faster. The previous hydro, I could mount it to 6 points on my case, but unfortunately I could only align this to two points. It's still secure though. The previous hydro, on idle would keep my i7 6800k at 32C idle and 38C at load. This one keeps it at 26C idle and 32C at load. So there's a significant improvement there. Lights and cooler temps- what more can a PC gamer can ask for? It's nice to see Corsair improved on an already stellar product. I would highly recommend this cooler if you're looking for great performance and a little flair.
Pros: + 400 - 2,400 RPM variable fan speeds + RGB lighting on pump and fans + 2x 280mm magnetic levitation fans + Works with iCue software for fan control and customizations + 16 LEDs + Multiple preset modes of operation (Zero RPM, Balanced and Performance)
Cons: - None (though some may think that the many wires involved with this setup is kind-of ugly)
Overall Review: The parts were easy to assemble and install. I had to take out my motherboard as I don't have rear access through the median of my case. Though, a handful of screws to take off, ~10 minute install job, and screw the mobo back down...and done. Not bad! The fans are barely audible. I'm achieving an 8F cooler IDLE operation coming from a Noctua C14 cooler and 14F on LOAD (ambient temp of ~66F). Customizating the fans and RGBs are very nice! I already use Corsair's iCue software for my K70 RGB keyboard.
Pros: As someone who has watercooled their computer for a long while with a custom loop I was at first apprehensive of using this AIO but my fears were unfounded. The parts are very well made and high quality. It cools extremely well. I am running an AMD FX-6300 series cpu overclocked to 4.2 GHz and it was able to handle full load without issue. Max temp was 52C after a long and taxing gaming session playing Killing Floor 2. I am running older hardware so I wasn't able to test out it's RGB capabilities. The system is extremely quiet. The fans I installed on my case are louder than the pump and fans on this are.
Cons: Expensive for an AIO but you absolutely get what you pay for. Other than that this AIO has no flaws as far as I can tell.
Overall Review: Pay attention when hooking everything up. Installing AIO's can be more tricky than installing a custom loop.
Pros: The RGB lights look great, yet i think i would get tired of them rather quickly. Since the software offers so many configuration choices, that may take a long while. The software has great features, and was easy to havigate around the interface. The two fans are really quiet, which is something i value. They look like they may be the best corsair has bundled with coolers and would last a long time. The radiator is a nice 280mm size and has an easy install. There are arrows located on the side of the fans to indicate the direction of the air flow. Not much to say about the installation, it is rather straight forward. Watching some videos before hand did help me know what to do, or at least verify I was doing the correct thing. This comes with Intel mounting bracket pre-installed on the pump for a quick Intel installation, the AMD parts and instructions are included as well. Having multiple mounting bracket choices are nice, and is not difficult to figure out which one to use. Connecting the several cables was easy, the video helped match them up, they do take up space inside.
Cons: I have not found any problems with installation, usage, or the software. Take your time with the install, there is no extra thermal paste supplied. Figuring out where to hide all the wires took more time than i expected it would.
Overall Review: The newegg page for this product has a pdf file of the installation, I found it far easier to read and zoom-in on the diagrams than using the paper manual which cames with the product. I enjoyed watching my computer newb wife spend 15 minutes figuring out how to open the outer box, it is a different design than most boxes. I wonder how much the cost of the updated aesthetics impacts quality of other parts?
