Pros: Really, that it is compact, cable-free, capacious, and fast! It may also be reliable (according to the stats), but only time will tell. No failures yet in my hands.
Cons: Um, you need a MB w/ an M2 slot? Worth getting, for the increase in performance relative to a sata-ssd.
Overall Review: Initially I put this in an external adapter, where it was indistinguishable from a typical ssd. Finally I opened up a desktop with an empty M2 slot and installed it as the Windows 10 boot drive -- replacing a sata3-ssd. The PC immediately became much snappier. I'm convinced.
Pros: Fantastic product at a great price. Very past read and write speeds at extremely competitive prices. Great product packaging (more later) and great looks. Temps stay within reason under a load.
Cons: None that I found within reason.
Overall Review: First off, I have to give this the dependability award and the “best packaging” award. A neighborhood dog was nice enough to open my package for me before I arrived home. I arrived to find pieces of the packaging all over my yard, and it even rained that afternoon. However, the very nice plastic casing for the SSD protected the M.2 from the dog and the rain and works perfectly. Kudos to Corsair on this one. Now to the SSD, I came from a Samsung 970 Pro M.2 SSD. Honestly, I could not tell a real world difference. Obviously it was a little slower when writing with benchmarks, but I could not notice while using it in real time usages situations. The Corsair M.2 is a heck of a performer and delivers (IMO) a great overall PC experience. I love Corsair and would buy any of their cases, keyboards, mice, etc any day of the week, but ive always avoided their SSD’s for some reason. That has changed now. For the price per Gig, this is a great product and is extremely capable. Sure, there might be some SSD’s with higher spec’s, but those also come at a higher price. And for the average person, this is going to be a killer drive and a great price. I would highly recommend this to anyone I know.
Pros: I have this paired with a Samsung EVO 840 using this NVME device as my gaming drive. Load times were noticeably better for me when playing Destiny 2. Especially noticeable when changing areas with friends as now I load and wait for friends I used to be in line with. I loaded some benchmarks which have been covered by many reviewers here and it beats out my EVO 840, the OCZ which I now have as an additional drive, and I put in a Sandisk 500GB drive that ranks last place out of these. I wanted to see about real world feel as just having a higher number may not be a high value which is why I wanted to highlight this drive versus my other drives for gaming. So after getting the initial feel that it was faster in load times comparing versus my friends, which is has been I tried to get various load times of games. My comparisons are all versus the Samsung EVO 840. Migrated my steam data to the M.2 and reloaded into steam to compare. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Average 4 seconds faster. Peak 9 seconds faster Shadow Warrior 2 - 3-12 seconds faster Killing Floor 2 – average 2 seconds faster FFXIV – If teleporting to new space I would load 4-8 seconds faster. It of course depends on the area but I think it’s noticeably faster for a task that happens often enough to be handy. As a note while some games I couldn't record a performance increase or feel definitely none loaded slower. Some simply don't require constantly hitting the drive with high read/write.
Cons: It’s not a huge increase in numbers and given the price per GB to go NVMe versus a cheaper higher capacity drive it may not be the best value.
Overall Review: While load times are better they are pretty marginal. Depends on what games you play and how often you need more than simply memory to handle the load the value could be for specific users. The load times are nice but in single player games I’ve played most don’t have quick consistent load required to make it as valuable. Only a couple games care if you load first in a map. Some games I just end up waiting for the slowest to load anyway so I can have bragging rights but not much more. Perhaps I need to make all of my friends buy NVMe SSDs with me. For a single player gamer doing a bunch of world jumps that need to load off the SSD perhaps such as The Witcher fast travel it could be a great benefit.
Pros: • Affordable • Standard M.2 format found on all consumer motherboards • Performance is in line with the cost • Minimalist packaging (for those that care about that sort of thing) • Excellent 5-year warranty
Cons: • They list the speed numbers everyone gets excited about (sequential) but just realize that your use case may feel a lot different (needs to be said about every drive speed rating) • Toolbox is a really lame, dated offering (especially compared to competitors)
Overall Review: Pretty standard fare going on here. CrystalDiskMark numbers are almost spot on for sequential read/write specs (very nice). I used this drive for a fresh Win10 install with the following specs: • Ryzen 1600 • 16GB Corsair 3200MHZ DDR4 • MSI X370 MOBO • SLI ASUS GTX 780ti • Corsair HX1000 PSU • Phanteks P400 TG Drive was detected without any issues (three total drives in the build), with install from a USB 3.0 flash drive being extremely fast. For those that haven’t crossed over to M.2 drives, get ready to experience the joy of no cables. Just makes things clean and easy. NVME speeds are definitely faster than standard SATA 6GB SSD speeds; cost isn’t much more; cable management is awesome = the only way to go, from my standpoint. Regarding the Corsair toolkit offering, as mentioned by another reviewer, it’s pretty substandard. Looks dated, and really offers very little in terms of functionality. I’ve used Samsung Magician, and the toolkit that comes with the WD Blue M.2 drives, and they feel new, and fresh, and display information on other drives from different brands. The Corsair toolkit shows the MP510 as not being compatible with cloning, trim, anything else. And the other two SATA SSD dives I have installed (OCZ and SanDisc) would not display any info whatsoever when using the Corsair toolkit. So a pretty worthless software install, in my book. I know most people just install the drive, and walk away, but if your competitors can offer a modern solution, then you should be doing the same. I use computer products across multiple competitors, and Corsair products are always rock solid for dependability. Outside of the ancient Corsair toolkit software, the actual MP510 will make most people happy, for sure. Pros: Consistent high performance at or just above advertised speeds- my review drive both fully new and 95% filled tested above 3100 MB/s read, 1100 MB/s write. Very good price/GB for a high end drive Finally some competition in the high performance ssd space, which will hopefully lead to lower prices on high performance SSD’s Very good 5 year warranty

Overall Review: To test this drive I pulled out the 960 EVO M.2 I had in my laptop, and I am not changing back. Truly a very high performance drive and it isn’t dependent on a smaller SLC cache. Not all M.2 slots are the same, and just because your device has one it doesn’t mean that it is a PCIe Gen 3 or even a x4 slot – another slightly older 7th gen 7700HQ laptop I own has an M.2 slot that is Gen 3 but limited to x1. Check to make sure that your slot is gen 3 and x4 with the manufacturer to ensure you will get the full performance with this drive first.
Pros: m.2 Small Form Factor Easy to Install Fantastic Read Speeds 3,090 MB/sec 5 Year Warranty up to 6x faster then a 2.5 Inch SSD SATA III depending on the world load.
Cons: Keep in mind when installing a m.2 drive to follow your motherboards directions. Some may require you to not install other SATA drives in certain SATA ports when using a M.2 in order to get maximum speeds. Only con is this is one of the larger MP510 drives, as you go up in capacity you also gain more speed and IOPS. Please keep in mind top not fill the drive, the way wear leveling work in SSD is it tries to spread our writes to blocks on the M.2 drive. So if you say have this thing full like 220GB of 240GB you only are leaving 20 GB for all writes to occur to. Best bet for drive longevity it to try and keep it 20-30% free space so that way there is more free block to be written to.
Overall Review: Received the Corsair MP510 M.2 Solid state drive to review. Drive arrived well packaged and undamaged. This drive is of the m.2 variant which allows your drive to achieve much higher then standard SATA III ports data transfer levels. Most 2.5 inch form factor solid state drive caps out around 550/580 MB/second, with M.2 read speeds of 3,000+ MBs are achievable. This Drive in my pc scored a max of 3,090 MB/s sec read. Installation is easy, just clip in the m.2 drive push down lightly and use the m.2 screw that comes with your motherboard (screw not included with drive) to secure it into position. Step 2 install OS to drive, Step 3 enjoy insane fast data speeds. This model the 240GB variant sports a max read of 3,100 MB/s write of 1,050 MB/s. 180,000 Random read and 240,000 Random Write OPS.....and a massive 400 TBW (Terabytes Written), for some insane drive endurance. To put that in perspective my oldest SSD is 6 years old has 17.6TB written to it, and i use that PC daily. So having 400 TB of endurance means this will last longer then your PC will. While Im sure its only a matter of time before LEDs start coming on M.2 Drive, for now the drive comes on a nice jet black PCB, with Black sticker listen model number. Since there are no moving parts and it mounts so closely to the motherboard you barely notice the drive. These are great drives if you want to have clutter free PC build, since they don't need SATA data and power plugs the M.2 provides everything needed. As far as performance the Read and Write speeds are insane and are notice step up from SATA III 2.5 inch SSD Drives. Windows 10 boots in 3 seconds w M.2 SSD, vs 7 seconds with SATA SSD. Overall its a solid M.2 Drive, has so great endurance ratings. Great Read and write speeds. a 5 year warranty by a reputable company. I've used it now for over a 3 weeks, 2.2 TB written to it so far and no issue. The only con its not the larger MP510 model, as you go up in size you gain more speed in both read/write and IOPS. It has well rounded performance for its capacity.
Pros: Fast NVMe M.2 drive with a decent capacity for an OS and a few games or other programs. It doesn't seem to get too hot. From my observation under normal usage, it seems to max out between 50 to 55 degrees Celsius. In a much more extreme usage scenario, I saw it get up to 60C but didn't see any thermal throttling that I could observe. Although this is getting plenty warm, it's maximum operating temperature is technically 70C. Small, clean looking black SSD that would look great in practically any build.
Cons: Has lower overall performance when compared to the other Force 510 M.2 drives of higher capacities, and besides the extremely fast sequential read and write speeds, is not much faster than a SATA SSD.
Overall Review: CrystalDiskMark shows approximately the advertized sequential read and write speeds, within margin of error. These are impressive, but not realistic for real-world usage. This drive is fast, and overall faster than a regular SATA SSD in my testing, but sequential speeds are nothing more than a number that looks good when marketing the drive, and not an indicator of real-world performance. I would suggest to at least place this drive away from high-heat producing components within your case if possible, or put a heatsink on it and make sure to have good airflow. Even though I didn't notice it throttle in my testing, your mileage may vary, and keeping it cooler will help prolong it's life regardless. Do your research when choosing an SSD. You likely won't see much improvement over a SATA SSD with this particular drive if you're looking for an upgrade, but it may not be a bad choice for a new build... though, you may want to opt for a higher capacity model if your budget allows.

Overall Review: Installation was a breeze. You just need to use the supplied screws (and mounting screws) provided with your motherboard/system to install this drive. Windows installer detected the blank drive and was able to install without problems. The black PCB and Corsair product label matched my system’s dark/black color scheme very well and blended in nicely. This drive replaced my SATA3 SSD as an operating system drive and the speed is noticeable especially when loading programs. Productivity programs such as Word, Excel and others loaded noticeably faster compared to the previous drive. Boot times were also extremely fast when compared to previous drive but only by a second or two. When benchmarking the drive with CRYSTALMARK it met max sequential read and write speeds that were documented on the product page. It wasn't listed in any provided documentation with this drive but when considering purchasing this drive please keep in mind that to take advantage of the speed of this drive make sure your motherboard/system can support the 4x that it can use. My ASUS STRIX Z270E board required me to go into bios turn change it from default 2X to 4X. This will disable specific SATA ports so please read your motherboard manual. I highly recommend this drive for any normal consumer use.
