LOADING...
The Centon MP Essential is a 2TB internal 2.5-inch SATA III SSD for users upgrading a compatible computer from a traditional hard drive or adding storage, with listed sequential speeds of up to 520 MB/s read and 490 MB/s write.
Recommended For
- Owners of older laptops or desktops with a 2.5-inch SATA bay who want to replace a hard drive and make booting and everyday app launches feel more responsive.
- PC owners with an available SATA connection who want a 2TB secondary drive for a game library or frequently accessed files, rather than paying for a faster NVMe drive.
- Users moving files, photos, or media between computers who need a roomy internal drive for a system that supports 2.5-inch SATA storage.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Replace the hard drive in a compatible older laptop or desktop: the system should boot and open everyday apps more responsively, though an SSD cannot fix limits caused by an older processor or low memory.
- Add it as a game drive in a desktop with an available 2.5-inch SATA bay: games stored on it should load faster than from a mechanical hard drive, but the drive itself is not expected to increase in-game frame rates.
- Replace the internal drive in a compatible PlayStation 4 when the existing drive is short on space or slow: it can provide room for more installed games and reduce loading compared with a hard drive.
- Use it as a second internal drive in a compatible PC for a large local game or media library: the 2TB capacity gives files and installations more room without replacing the system’s existing boot drive.
