Pros: As stated in the title I had to ask for an RMA, but then realized I did not need it. When i first get the cable, I hooked it up to a external Seagate 2.5 inch hdd. My motherboard is an P9X79 pro mobo. All my USB 3.0 ports are controlled by the Asmedia ASM104x controller. When i first connected the drive using this cable (the drive worked fine without the extension) Windows 8 would pick up the drive but not be able to access it causing the system to hang. Tried it in different USB 3.0 ports did not work. Updated the USB 3.0 Firmware, still did not work. Asked for an RMA. After this I noticed that the download section for my Asus motherboard under utilities contained a file called USB3_Boost after downloading and installing the update (it is part of AI Suite the cable worked fine with the drive. Apparently, you need UASP installed for this cable to work with certain ASUS mobos when the USB 3.0 is on an ASmedia controller. RMA was then canceled

Cons: Had to install USB3 Boost and AI Suite. Needs UASP in order to work on ASmedia controller

Overall Review: Have not measured the transfer rates but for me the drive seems as response as it is without the extension cable. I also cannot speak to how the cable would react if used on a native chipset controlled USB 3.0 port (such as the on the z77 chipset)

Pros: Works as designed! However, win 7 did not "see" my external hdd after connecting, although the power light came on. I originally thought the issue was that I was using an extension to lengthen the short USB 3.0 cable suppled with the device. I then hooked up the drive using only the short cable and that did not work either! Obviously, the issue was with Win 7. I then un-enabled the USB 3.0 host controller (manage- devices), re-enabled it immediately and the hdd was then seen as a 3.0 device, and started working flawlessly.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Win 7 seems to have issues with USB 3.0. There are many discussions about this on the net. Also, make sure that you maintain a short cable connection (3 meters or less, especially when using extensions).

Pros: It sometimes works at 6ft.

Cons: It won't power any external hard drive when I add in my additional 1.5ft extender It feels cheap and thinner than any of my other USB 3.0 cables

Overall Review: I purchased this cable to extend into a USB 3.0 signal into my modified USB fireproof safe. By the time the signal passes through the 6 feet of cable, there is only enough power to make another 6 inches while still (sometimes) powering my drive. Once I run it through the safe's cable, there is no longer enough power to turn on my drive. The USB 3.0 standards state that the cable will meet standard USB 3.0 speeds assuming it is less than 3 meters. I still have a few more feet to spare. However, when I use my 16ft USB 2.0 extension cable, my drive becomes accessible again. That means there is one of two things wrong. Any USB 3.0 cable cannot go that far, or the cable is bad. StarTech won't send me a new one without me shipping them the old one first (which is understandable). At the cost of shipping + the cable cost ($7.99), I'd rather buy a different cable elsewhere.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cable only allows for 40MB/s to my brand new USB 3.0 external hard drive. When I use the cable that came with the external hard drive, I am able to achieve speeds of over 100MB/s.

Overall Review: Wish it would have worked like advertised.

Pros: Quality construction. Nice thick cables. Female end covered, which helps inadvertent metal on metal contact to other components.

Cons: No issues what so ever.

Overall Review: The perfect little USB 3 pigtail to go in the USB port on the back of my monitor. With this, I can hang my SD card reader just below the bottom edge of the monitor––which means that I can swap cards without getting up and reaching around the back of the monitor. YES!

Pros: Great cable, very sturdy and strong connectors. Wire does not bend and tear like thinner cheaper ones. I bought the USB micro 3.0 cable that matches it. This is for charging my Samsung Galaxy note 3

Cons: none so far in almost 6 months of use.
