Overall Review: Utilize 2 ports for USB 2.0 systems to get enough electricity for the requirements of any hard drive, especially any drive being written to for more than a few seconds or you may burn up not only your USB 2.0 circuits in your PC but also maybe damage or at least prematurely harm your external hard drive's delicate circuits in the long run too.

Pros: Worked perfectly - the old single usb cable was not providing enough power, this does! I upgraded the firmware on the player which was needed but it still did not work. This saved me money because now i don't have to buy a new recorder.

Overall Review: If you have trouble with an external device - perhaps it doesn't have enough power. This does the trick in those situations.

Overall Review: Some original cables (with external drives), just don't hold up - they start failing after a few months, (or even sooner). I haven't had any of these fail yet though, even after months and years (so far...) with various drives.

Pros: Theses work just fine. I needed them for a handful of external DELL DVDRW burners i received with no cables.

Cons: BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING, watch the price. I cant believe NewEgg allows 3rd party vendors - retailers to list the same exact item for +25$ -OR- 16,000% higher price

Overall Review: The burners i used required more voltage/amps than 1 usb port would provide. Some have seperate power and data cables. This resolved that issue for me, i get both data and power in 1 cable. Would be a safe call to say most USB hard drives would require 2 ports worth of power also
