(A Variety of Ports)
Three Video Ports
The dock station features three video ports, including one D-Sub port, one single-link DVI-D port, and one DisplayPort connector. Any two of the three ports can be used simultaneously. Attaching two monitors disables the ThinkPad display.
- One D-Sub port is for use with VGA-analog monitors that support a maximum video resolution of up to 1920 x 1200.
- One Single-Link DVI-D port connects to a single-link DVI-D digital monitor that supports support a maximum video resolution of up to 1920 x 1200. And, the single-link DVI-D port does not support attachment of a DVI-to-VGA monitor adapter.
- One DisplayPort connector is used to attach a DisplayPort-enabled monitor that supports a maximum video resolution of 2560 x 1600. It supports attachment of DisplayPort monitor cables. You can use DisplayPort monitor cables to reduce resolution to 1920 x 1200.
Other Essential Ports
The dock station also provides one RJ-45 Ethernet port, two audio ports* (analog microphone in, headphone out), and up to six USB 2.0 ports, providing maximum flexibility for connecting.
Note: ThinkPad L412, L512: ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 dock audio ports are inactive, ThinkPad audio ports are active.
Robust Key Lock Security
Integrated key lock and cable lock slot physically secure the ThinkPad and ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3. The cable lock and key lock operate separately.
- The cable lock secures the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 to the workspace, such as desk, table, pole, furniture, wall etc. The cable lock slot supports attachment of Kensington cable locks from Lenovo.
- The key lock, on the side of the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3, secures the ThinkPad to the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3. To remove the ThinkPad, from the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3, the user turns the separate key. The user does not need to remove the cable lock from the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3.
Easy Attachment and Removal
The left corner alignment is designed for easy system attachment, while the convenient eject button enables one-step system removal.
