Great Board 9/13/2020 9:32:17 AM

Pros: All worked perfect, right out of the box, very easy build. Of course I did my research though, updating the Bios, using components from the QVL etc. This board is fantastic, solidly built realistic price point and a full feature set, has all the bells and whistles I needed.

Cons: Chipset fan blocked by GPU.
Bios took a bit to get used to, but that's more on me, built many machines, but its been 10+ years since my last build.

Overall Review: This boards awesome. Excellent quality, My best build to date. Its solidly built, aesthetically pleasing, easy to assemble, reasonably priced, loads of i/o's, fast, and has all the features you need for overclocking.
I would highly recommend it.

It's a decent board, don't like the bios interface. 9/10/2020 7:57:03 PM

Pros: Cooler temps, superior io in terms of usb 3.0 speeds, better than average ethernet port, much better post readout for temp monitoring, nvme raid and ram support is good

Cons: Aesthetics aren't for everyone, issues with iommu when running virtualbox, bios is confusing and hard to navigate to find what you need for virtualization, no post issue occasionally, manual being essentially useless when figuring out the fan layout and proper fan header utilization for an aio, rgb on the board is rather dim but can be more noticeable depending on the color you set it to using the armory crate. Overclocking is not worth it on this board due to higher than average temps compared to other boards.

Overall Review: My 3950x runs much cooler on this board on idle and the vrm are cooler as well compared to my previous board the msi prestige creation. The heatsink for the m.2 are flimsy in terms construction and the fan covering the chipset is so thin you can easily damage it if mishandled. The fan placement is odd and can affect your first boot experience with an error post code readout prompting you to switch your fan layout (when you have an aio which is not clearly labeled on the board). I dislike the HERO logo on the board due to personal taste and the rog logo on the heatsink and prefer the design on the msi board any day or the gigabyte design.

The temp readout seems to be the most accurate out of the boards I used for x570 which was a major concern for me on my old board. The rear io is on par with msi's prestige model, but the ethernet is a bit of a step down being 1g to 2.5gigabit respectively on this model but for the price. The usb speed is faster due to being a later iteration of usb 3.2 standard.

I was disatisfied with the amount of usb 2.0 headers on the port limited to 2, and usb 3.0 headers only being 1 compared to what I was used to. The cmos feature is nice to have on the back and safe boot feature is nice to have to reset the bios to defaults in case of a bad overclock. One major issue with this board is when you turn the system off and attempt a cold boot it will not post.

If you make changes in the bios and restart it will sometimes not post and you need to unplug the psu and drain the power in order to boot. The armory crate software isn't as polished as msi's creator software however aura sync is more responsive when cycling through effects. All in all, it's a decent board but has some issues regarding no post on cold boot or upon a restart occasionally. You will need to update the bios for stability as it makes those boot issues less frequent and does improve system temps at least in my case.

If you love the gamer aesthetic and want to match your rog gear with the appropriate motherboard and be within that eco system go with this board. It's decent, and has a good rear io but it does lack in expandability in terms of usb 2.0 and 3.0 headers. I had to order an internal nzxt usb hub in order to hook up the blutooth from my asus wifi adapter. If you want a board that has a more functional bios and a better layout you can try msi or gigabyte. Even though this board is rated for overclocking, it will cause your cpu to overhead over 100c even when undervolting or attempt to do a slight overclock between 3.9 to 4.0. Enabling PBO will increase your temps within the 80c range.

Excellent MB using it in my wife's system 9/6/2020 5:31:43 AM

Pros: Building the system was easy.
Muted lighting for a change.
Everything worked.
This will be my second board, the other is in my system running like a champ.

Cons: Get rid of the CD and add a dongle with the programs in the box. Sheesh most cases these days do not even have a CD case slot anymore.
ASUS lighting software needs better instructions to get everything sync'd up including ROG items The video card is still a different color then the rest of the lighting. I finally gave up.

Overall Review: I love this MB and enjoyed building it and seeing it come to life.
I think many of you need to research before you buy items such as memory and the like on the MB vender site. ASUS or for that matter all the motherboard sites post a qualified venders lists of parts tested on each motherboard. This will save you so much headache. I post this as once I knew the parts I wanted to use in my builds I check the list.
IF YOU ARE NOT USING STOCK MEMORY YOU MUST UPDATE THE MB BIOS OR YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS. SAME FOR ALL MB'S. Even my brother a 20year IT fella failed to do it and had problems as he was used to the mb just checking the mb and running new memory. Not any longer you must do this.

Beast Board 9/3/2020 8:44:54 AM

Pros: Feature rich with a multitude of settings
Well built with high quality parts
Astonishing amount of i/o
Active chipset heatsink w/fan
Separated lanes for both M.2 sockets and PCIe slots
Dual NICs with Intel and Realtek
Outstanding audio w/Sonic Radar etcetera
Exceptional gaming network traffic optimization
USB BIOS FlashBack is PRO
And the list goes on and on!

Cons: Mine was missing a screw for 2nd M.2 drive

Overall Review: This is the best MB I have ever purchased for my personal PC. It is fully loaded and ready to fire! It was very easy to set my ram to the advertised 3600MHz. I prefer not to OC the cpu and simply let the boost do its job. I am very pleased with my new cube build.

The best overclocking board ever with so many features! 9/1/2020 1:40:04 PM

Pros: Mostly everything about it

Cons: Could use one more M.2 slot on the board for those who need it

Overall Review: Has all the features you need for overclocking. The Safe Boot and Start button are very useful when tightening the RAM timings and such. With my motherboard I am using a 3950x OC per CCX and Samsung B-die G.Skill DDR4 4400 OC to 3800 CL14 With a Cinebench R20 score of 10,120.

Would have been 5 stars 8/24/2020 9:37:02 AM

Pros: Its sturdy and nice looking at the same time while giving great performance.
Is rich in features and options plenty of I/O
Replaces my Crosshair Hero VI x370 platform
Runs my 3900x without an issue.

Cons: Slight damage to the rear I/O cover like something dropped on it. I think I may either have a defect from the factory or a RMA open box unit that I paid full price for. Am hoping its just cosmetics only as the board is functioning and I don't want to spend weeks waiting for RMA without a working PC in the mean time.

A USB drive containing drivers would be nice since my PC doesn't have a dvd drive. I resorted to ripping the disk onto a USB using another PC.

Overall Review: Its been running well for the last week of use and not having anything else to complain about other than the scratch to the I/O cover prevents me from giving a 5 star rating.

Great 8/22/2020 9:38:30 AM

Pros: - Excellent build quality
- Frequent updates
- Very nice UEFI BIOS and BIOS options
- Excellent layout of fan headers

Cons: - Occasional error codes 15 or A9 for gpu and memory error on hard re-boots. Powering down the power supply then turning it back on and booting up seems to clear the errors. Much easier than removing and re-seating my GPUs.
- CANNOT get Armoury Crate software to operate. Installs, but won't launch and there is no shortcut for me to manually launch it. Tried several fixes recommended on various websites with no luck. Will keep troubleshooting. Until then, I cannot customize my fan speeds or RBG lightiing as well as I would like.

Overall Review: Would recommend to any system builder. Not a system builder? Prepare to learn on the fly!
