Pros: Big fat memory bandwidth, very smooth and fast graphics with a Kuma 7750 and 8 gigs of A-Data DDR2 800+ in my Rev. 1 Gigabyte 770 UD3. Flawless install under Vista 64 Ultimate, I simply uninstalled all the ATI software before I removed my 3850, popped this heavy girl in there, and fired her back up. Oh, and I pre-downloaded the Catalyst suite before I did the uninstall/swap as well.
Cons: I get artifacts and video dropouts unless my CPU cooler (Gigabyte 3D rocket pro) and Asus' "5.8 Oz. copper rod" cooler are both maxed out in terms of fan speed. And this is in a case comparable to a CM690, bottom mount PSU, 7 120mm fans, etc. This card makes my whole bedroom heat up. I am second-guessing this purchase due to the cards power consumption and heat output. To say nothing of the noise, my rig whooshes around 35 dB.
Overall Review: This card is still the fastest thing out there under 200 dollars. I am thinking an aftermarket cooler that has RAM sinks or at least contacts the RAM chips would keep this baby a little farther from the sun in terms of temperature. Am going to try something, have used the Arctic Cooling heatsink before and was amazed at the temp drops, so we'll see,
