DirectCU II with 0dB Fan Technology 30% cooler. Silent gaming.

Exclusive DirectCU II cooling technology outperforms reference designs with an exclusive 10mm heatpipe that transports 40% more heat away from the GPU — a first for the industry! The design also includes 220%-larger heat-dissipation: this means performance that's 30% and three-times (3X) quieter than reference for ultra-stable hardcore gaming with very low noise. And Strix ups the ante still further with 0dB fan technology that lets you enjoy games like League of Legends® and StarCraft® in complete silence — because the fan stops completely when the GPU temperature remains below a set level.

Should of waited

Pros: Great card. Runs most games at max

Cons: I bought the two GB version. Of the card. Because I couldn't afford the 400+ at the time for the 4 GB 970. Less then a few months later they came out with the 4gb gtx960. For same price as the 2gb. The two GB card lacks in mem and would be a great card with 4 GB. Guess they caught their mistake. Wish I would of waited. I feel like they should replace mine with the updated 4gb version

Overall Review: It always gets better and cheaper a month down the road

Fans went out

Pros: Good while it worked. Quiet while it worked.

Cons: After about 6 months the fans stopped working, wiggled the wires an still nothing. Tried a temporary fan that worked.

Also, the appropriate drivers weren't easily available directly online for this card at the time of purchase. I had to search for them. and found them through a different source.

Overall Review: Not worth the money.

Fans don'r run strong enough

Pros: It can run current games very well. Right now I'm playing Fallout 4 on Ultra settings and it runs smooth, no dips.

Cons: The fans don't run strong enough to keep the GPU cool. I had a problem, my computer would completely crash while playing a game. I checked everything, blew air in the computer in case of any dust build up. Here I figured out the card would reach 115-120 degrees. Temperatures on everything else was fine. So I thought maybe the fans stopped working. I checked them and noticed they run, but faintly. So basically now before I start any game, I use GPU tweak to turn the fans on at a high speed and for now has fixed the problem. The card temperature now stays around 70-80 degrees and no more crashes.

The fans are suppose to come on when the card hits certain temperatures, I don't know how it works. If there's some sort of thermostat on the card or what. But whatever it is, I think my card may be faulty in that area.

Dear Steven,

Thank you for taking your time in writing this review. We certainly value your feedback. I am sorry to hear that are having trouble with your video card overheating and crashing your computer. 115-120 degrees is way too hot for a card to be running. Are you overclocking it? Your card may be defective. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have you updated drivers for your video card? I feel like your fan monitor is not working correctly. I would suggest an RMA. You can submit one at http://www.asus.com/us/support. ASUS offers 3 year warranty on our video cards.
