Pros: Brilliant display colors, very sharp, great viewing angles, G-Sync is stunning
Cons: few barely noticeable dead pixels and display bleeding
Overall Review: very happy with it, well worth $489
Pros: All advertised features working beautifully. No need for me to list.
Cons: Dead pixel in the center of the screen and fairly large amounts of backlight bleed in three of the four corners of the screen
Overall Review: Rma'd for a replacement. I will update once it arrives.
Pros: - 0 Dead Pixels - Barely Any Back light Bleed (very small spot, but will never be noticeable under normal conditions)
Cons: - Faulty Display port provided by Acer. They provided a NON-VESA Certified Cable..VERY disappointing, and quite frankly really cheap. (the cable is made by Blizlink) because it is NON-VESA certified you will have screen flickering, and a multitude of other problems like PC not starting up when its plugged in, and possibly damaging your GPU, these are things i heard and researched. Please refer to "Other" for a easy solution to this (although ACER THIS SHOULDNT BE NEEDED!)
Overall Review: - To fix your faulty Display-Port problem, you can refer to this chart: http://www.displayport.org/products-database/?products_category%5b%5d=cables-connectors&products_manufacturer= (Choose the "Cables" check box and click search) - The chart above is a list of vesa certified display-port cables, they are more expensive, but its 100% worth it, because non-certified ones will almost always give you screen flickering and other problems, however if your lazy, the cheapest certified cable i found is the "Accel B142C-007B-2 6.56 ft" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812607083&ignorebbr=1 Its $18.00 there is a 3.3ft $16 one if you can afford to use such a small length. I hope this helps, as my screen was flickering and replacing it with the one i mentioned fixed it!
Pros: Got for $599 CDN. Was worried about negative reviews. I can report that mine arrived in perfect condition with no noticeable IPS bleed and zero dead pixels. This is a mind-blowing step up from my 2009 1080p 60hz TN Acer in every way. So happy with purchase and Newegg once again.
Cons: None that I can think of other than good pascal cards can't come out soon enough!
Overall Review: Great experience with refurb. Saved $400+ CDN.
Pros: Beautiful. G-Sync is amazing. Buttery smooth graphics. Even my wife was impressed, and if you knew her, you'd know that's a big deal. I will never go back to 1080P gaming - NEVER. Did I mention the colors? I am coming from a TN monitor and let me tell you, IPS makes a BIG difference - beautiful. All an all an amazing monitor, with caveats listed below in the cons section.
Cons: Let me star this section with the following: just check out one of the product photos for this monitor... the box is crinkled and looks like it has been thrown down a flight of steps. A sign of things to come, perhaps. I was shocked when I first glimpsed the actual box that this monitor came in. There was very little protection and the packing was very unimpressive, to say the least. Janky comes to mind. Now that that is out of the way. The first monitor I received, as many other people in these reviews have stated, had what looked like a smudge but ended up being an area of dead pixels. I had two areas of dead pixels that were about two times the size of an eraser head each. I initially thought that I could tough it out. I couldn't, so I sent it back. I started the RMA process, and that was no hassle at all. I shipped the monitor back the next day and had a new one about a week and a day later. I'll take that part of the review below.
Overall Review: The second monitor I received was perfect. Sure, it was still packed the same janky way, but it miraculously came through unscathed. There is absolutely no IPS glow, and not a single dead pixel or smudge of dead pixels. Perfect. Beautiful. Wonderful. Okay, I'm just excited that I don't have to send it back again. Even though I got a perfect monitor, I couldn't quite decide how many eggs to give. I really only wanted to give three, because of the packing and the obviously poor quality control at (I'm assuming) Acer. BUT, if you're patient, and you really want to save quite a bit of money, you can use the RMA process to eventually get a good monitor. That's why I gave it 4 eggs. In other words, take a spin if you're feeling lucky or have lots of patience; otherwise, just pony up the dough to purchase the non-refurbished version. Good luck.
Pros: Stellar Picture G-Sync 1440p at 144Hz is amazing but is something you must see for yourself
Cons: The stand is probably the worst thing imaginable as its plastic and does not have the same quailty as the monitor itself. Unfortunately there was terrible blacklight bleed on the right hand side of the screen so I RMA'd it to receive a replacement (which I am currently waiting on).
Overall Review: Even though I received a bad monitor and had to RMA the unit, the short time I had the device on I knew my purchase was the correct one. The colors are incredible even without me calibrating them. Moving from a 60Hz monitor to this one is just something you cant describe but you must see. I would suggest visiting a local store that carries monitors and test out one of their 144Hz monitors before purchasing this to reaffirm your decision. I hope the next unit I get is in good condition because im itching to play some games on it and if not im going to RMA until I receive a unit that is worth the price paid. All in all im going to give it a 5/5 because im going off of what this unit can do and not that mine was messed up. Some may find this to be a bit naive but you cant understand the supreme quality of this monitor (just the monitor not the stand) unless you see it for yourself.
Pros: There is no better combination of features for a gaming monitor- 1440p, IPS panel, and g-sync for Nvidia GPU users make this monitor have tremendous potential...
Cons: Which is ruined by poor build quality. I have now been through two different XB270HU's- both have had defects/panel damage. When other vendors enter the 1440p gaming IPS space it will be interesting to see what their build quality is.

Pros: Other than the dead pixels - the screen looks incredible. Beautiful colors, 1440p looks incredible, g-sync is buttery smooth.
Cons: The dead pixels are no joke. They are HUGE are quite obvious. There is no way they inspected this before shipping. I am very disappointed as refurbished means "fixed", not just re-boxed to be sold again. They literally could have turned the monitor on and see the handful of huge black dots on the screen that do not light up. It's a sad Christmas. Will be returning.
