Pros: - Good price:value ratio at a time when GPUs are still somewhat difficult to find. - "GPU may vary" was an EVGA Ultra FTW3 for me, pretty nice. - Cabling looks good and airflow doesn't seem to be a problem. - Cool LEDs if you're into that sort of thing, though you will need a bunch of vendor software to tweak them/turn them off. - Arrived a few days ahead of schedule.
Cons: - Windows install was 20H1 at a time when 21H1 is available. - Drivers, BIOS, etc. woefully out of date. - X570 boards and Ryzen 5800X seem to have tons of stability issues, search for "5800X WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR", for example. - XMP profile not properly configured. Go to the ASUS site and look up the QVL memory settings. The XMP profile that came with the (old) BIOS version installed was under-volted and had wrong memory timings (not 3200 Mhz as another reviewer noted); this caused chain crashing/BSODs for me until fixed.
Overall Review: - Overall a great price:value. - Be prepared to do some work. I recommend: 1) grab the latest BIOS from the ASUS site and update, 2) fix the XMP/memory settings in BIOS to match the QVL recommendations from ASUS site, 3) turn off Compatibility Support Module (CSM) in BIOS, 4) format + reinstall Windows, 5) grab chipset drivers directly from AMD's site, 4) update the VBIOS/firmware for your GPU by downloading from your manufacturer's website, 5) install the latest NVIDIA drivers, 6) enable resizable BAR in BIOS, 7) test it out w/ some long play sessions in your AAA game of choice and make sure it's stable. EDIT: Wound up returning this. Contacted ABS support and they had no idea/claimed they had never heard of the "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR", despite it being a widely-reported issue with this chipset/mobo combo.
