Worked out of the Box on Linux Mint

Pros: Small, Unobtrusive, and reliable. Great value

Cons: Only a 2.4Ghz adapter. Not as small as some of the other choices out there.

Other Thoughts: It's a great plug and play adapter, even for Linux users. My only complaint is that it could be a bit smaller. I'ts fairly unobtrusive as it is, but Making it almost flush mount would be idea in my situation. (I use it exclusively as the internal adapter was damaged during a maintenance tear-down)

Pros: Drivers installed on Windows 10 immediately.
Compatible with Linux Mint 17.3 64 bit.
Dirt cheap at under $10 (USD).
Doesn't take up much space.

Cons: Haven't tested it with a Mac, yet.

Manufacturer Response:
Hi Petar,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our TL-WN725N Nano USB Wi-Fi Adapter. To ensure optimal performance of the adapter, we highly recommend updating its driver to the latest version available on our website here:

Please also bear in mind the TL-WN725N is a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi adapter, and the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi spectrum can sometimes be congested based on nearby sources of interference. In your case, we also recommend adjusting your router's Wi-Fi channel settings to help optimize signal clarity.

We would appreciate the opportunity to follow up with you and address any concerns you have about the adapter. At your earliest convenience, please send an e-mail with your contact information and a copy of this review to and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Best Regards,
TP-Link Customer Support

Cheap and portable, questionable reception

Pros: Portable, unobtrusive, probably one of the cheapest name-brand wi-fi adapters you can get. No serious problems with it. Plug and play on Windows 8.1.

Cons: When I first plugged it into a port in my motherboard I/O, I couldn't get a wi-fi signal. Plugging it into my front USB ports seemed to fix the problem, although it's possible that it just needed to be reinserted. My signal still isn't very strong.

Other Thoughts: Signal strength is probably the fault of the form factor and not TP-LINK -- small wi-fi adapters necessarily have tiny antennas to fit inside their casings, and thus worse reception. I'm only using this on a temporary basis and probably wouldn't like to use it as my main source of Internet access. That said, it works admirably for this purpose and was extremely cheap, so four eggs.

Mediocre adapter

Pros: Works.

Cons: Disconnected randomly. Slow (ave 5 MBPS on 75 MBPS ISP)

Other Thoughts: Spend a little more and get something else.

You get what you pay for

Pros: Very cheap but useful, just plug it in and you have internet. Its not the best but it works. Wouldn't recommend it if you want to do multiple tasks that use internet.

Cons: Not good for multiple tasks
