First expensive MOBO I've ever bought - worth it!

Pros: x2 RGB, x2 ADD headers + RGB on the board itself - The main reason why I bought this board- an RGB build.

As far as the RGB on board goes.. It looks alright. It could be brighter, but it's not bad.

The board design is nice and fits well in my NZXT case. It contains preloaded software to any time you plug in the board with a new HDD it can install the drivers needed to run the board.

OC - The OC management in this is beast mode. EZ OC available with multiple modes AND OC's the RAM along with the CPU.

Honestly, for the first expensive board i've purchased i'm happy. Not sure why this board has such mixed reviews (eggs)

4/5 MOBO

Cons: RGB could have been brighter, don't know enough about the preset OC profiles (can't edit presets).

Other Thoughts: Purchased on Thursday morning - paid for next day shipping + fast processing - got it Friday afternoon :)

Great board if you don't plan on using a case

Pros: Dunno, can't get it to fit in any case.

Cons: For some reason this board does not line up with the standoffs in my Corsair case, or any other case I have tried. Does ASUS test this stuff out before they release it?

Great board even with the vrm issues

Pros: Great board
Best bios

Cons: Vrm marketing issue

Other Thoughts: Even tho ASUS marking team had made a 4 phase seem like a 8 phase even tho it’s a 4 phase vrm it still can take anything thrown at it and run a a steady 5ghz on all cores

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Rory B,

Thank you for your review and I certainly understand the inconvenience this may have caused, and please accept our apologies. We’ve implemented an improved VRM solution that focuses on transient response. The new design teams power stages and doubles the amount of current supplied by each phase, delivering better processor stability during load transitions. What issues are you having with your motherboard? I would like to gather more information to better assist you. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Stay Away, DOA

Pros: Nothing to comment, Pretty Lights?

Cons: Needs help, the pci express slot for sound cards is the first slot on top....WOW

Other Thoughts: Mine didnt boot at all, RMA for replacement, same problem. I trouble shoot every component with Asus senior Help center, They blamed Newegg for just repackaging the same defective board back to me.
But New egg was nice enough to accept this board as a defect and give me store credit.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Fouad A,

We appreciate your feedback on this matter and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. All ASUS products are manufactured with materials that comply with industry's quality standard and each one undergoes intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. What were the symptoms? What was the Q-Code you were receiving? Try taking the motherboard out of the case and set it on an insulated surface. Install JUST the CPU/cooler, and 1 stick of memory in the first slot. Plug in the 2 PSU cables to the MB. Connect the motherboard, and connect the monitor to the integrated video if it has it. Turn on the PSU. Followed by pressing the start bottom on the motherboard. If the issues persist, feel free to contact me if you have any technical or general questions. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Best Regards,
Adrian

Buyer Beware: Horrible Product and Asus Customer Service

Pros: - Beautiful Board

Cons: - Back I/O plate caused the top three holes to not align with mounting holes in case
- Shipped from factory with prototype BIOS, which caused errors with initial installation of Windows

Other Thoughts: Preordered product with my i9-9900k preorder. Was a nightmare straight out of the box, with installation even in the case (see above). Random bluescreens while trying to install windows, only to find out that the BIOS was outdated. . .for a board that barely released a month ago. After updating the BIOS, was a bit more stable but not by much. Assumed my power supply was failing, so upgraded to a 1300 watt power supply. Was able to use the computer then, but would randomly stutter/freeze after about an hour of usage. In BIOS settings I would always turn the "Aura" off during standby, and it would never keep these settings, the Auro LEDs would stay on after I turned the computer off. I also kept disabling power to the USB ports in standby or off mode, but they were always 'hot', so to speak. Finally contacted Asus Customer Support and it was a nightmare - after getting specs to one of their Engineers, they advised that I upgrade my power supply (already done) and then upgrade my graphics card since the stuttering only seemed to effect games. . . Finally decided to try and RMA my product, and opt for the Asus Rapid Replacement option. . only to find out that if you do this, you will get a 'certified refurbished' product. SO, basically spent 350$ on a factory defect motherboard and the only thing I can do is send the board back to Asus for repairs and hope they can fix the problem. . with a turn around of 7-10 business days **if they have parts**, not including shipping time. Hypothetically would be without a computer for an indefinite amount of time, possibly/probably a month or more. Go Gigabyte my friends, this has been nightmare fuel from the get go.

People complaining about the VRM phases obviously have no clue that they're talking about...

Pros: n/a

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: People complaining about the VRM phases obviously have no clue that they're talking about... It is hilarious to see clueless people echoing misinformation here and rate a product based on that, while actually not having even tried the product themselves.

While these boards do not have the 'traditional' 4 Phase with doublers (4x2), they do have 8 power stages on the core and the components are of high quality. They are more than sufficient, and capable, to handle anything thrown at them.

Works great (no VRM issues!)

Pros: Solid build with great overclocking options, great BIOS, great VRM design (forget the media hype - there isn't any issues with the VRM implementation), nice heatsink design for the nvm storage.

Cons: PLEASE seal the box in future. Not sure if this is a Newegg issue or something to do with ASUS but I was not happy that my mobo box had no seal. The box almost fell open and I was worried this had be opened before, but it didn't look used and didn't have any finger prints or anything like that.

Also the included software is really bad, I wouldn't recommend using any of it!!! I went all in with a new build and got a ROG keyboard and mouse - ASUS mobo software conflicted with the mouse/keyboard software so I can either have lighting control OR the Armory Keyboard/Mouse software installed, but not both. Support was no help. Also DO NOT install or use the Network management software. It completely crippled my network throughput - downloading drivers etc. went back to dial up speeds, after much troubleshooting I removed that software and my internet speed returned to 900+mb/s

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this mobo, even though I did have some buyer regret with the poor software and incompatibility with other ROG products.
