Potentially great; in practice, not so much
2 out of 5 eggs
On the site, this tool set really does look nice, and given a lot of good reviews, it seemed like a good buy for the 39.99 ...

4 out of 5 eggsSet is GREAT for the price

Pros: I would recommend this tool kit to any hobbyist or sidejob guy who works on PCs at home.
-good and decent metals. not the finest of course, but it IS marketed as a PC tool kit so it isn't meant to withstand heavy abuse. You can definitely toss them around though.
-useful variety of tools. I've always been a hardware guy and I'd say I can find use for 90% of this kit. I didn't even have an exacto knife before and i just used it for something totally unrelated to computers the other day.

Cons: -some tools are not as well made or durable as I would have liked (this electronic tester feels like a but again, that price is great.
-hands slip off some tools. Not the main screwdriver tool but on the wire cutters and crimper i noticed it. In practice this doesnt really matter since you're gripping it but I might super glue it or something.

Other Thoughts: -The screwdriver definitely locks!
-I bought this set on sale with free shipping and must have just skimmed over the description because I didnt even know it was a ratcheting screwdriver, which was a huge bonus when i opened it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I'm really impressed with this collectin of PC tools. Its more than I expected, and as a car guy who has bought many hand tools I can say that these are a better than expected quality. I've been assembling my gaming machines with my car tools. Its been OK but they're actually not as specific as this assemblage and certainly not as small. There's even a couple removal type tools that I've never seen. I was probably using needle nose pliers instead. Universal tool kits can sometimes be disappointing, because of the low grades of cast metals sometimes used etc. This set is just not like that/the metal is a good quality and the tools will hold up well.

Cons: I guess I don't have any cons.

Other Thoughts: I bought it on sale and with free shipping. But its still a very good value at its non sale price. I wish I'd bought it a couple years ago :).

5 out of 5 eggsBasic Tools

Pros: Neatly organized in leather case. Straps hold tools in place. Both a solder iron and desolder tool for removing components. More bits than you will need. All the basics and then some.

Cons: Absolutely none for the thirty bucks plus free shipping.

Other Thoughts: Get a multimeter and wire markers and you are ready to go.

2 out of 5 eggsComputer Toolkit? or just toolkit?

Pros: Lots of tools

Cons: Do you really need this to work on a computer? Yes Once in a blue moon I've used a soldering Iron, but for most "Computer" repairs I've never used mine in the field.

Other Thoughts: I've been working on Computers for over 25 years Never needed this many "TOOLS" What do you need?
Power Supply Tester (The one with Connectors LEDS)
USB Multi connect to Hard Drives
Digital Volt Meeter (DVM)
1 Multi screwdriver (with Socket /bits)
ESD Strap
Network Cable Tester
Label Maker
1 set of jewlers Screwdrivers
Dental pick set
Super glue
MB Batteries and Batteries for testers
Can of AIR
Can of cold spray
Can of Circuit board cleaner
I do have a MB Tester, but only used it once
(Various Software tools)
Extra PC power Couplers and eSata cables etc.
USB Thumb Drive (Yes you can still use those)
Tie wraps
Extra Cables like USB/network etc
I have a 1k feet of Cat 5e cable and connectors but most people probably don't need that.
I think that covers most stuff, but That's what I carry in a box

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Great BASIC toolset for those just entering the world of computer repair. Has 95% of what you'd need to build your own PC as well as perform basic maintenance projects and installs on your rig.

Cons: Not the "greatest" quality set out there but it does what it needs to be. Not really a con.

Other Thoughts: To the people that complain about UPS losing their packages... stop being stupid and rating 1 egg because of your shipper. It's UPS or FedEx's fault, not Rosewills or Neweggs. Rate based on the performance of your product.

5 out of 5 eggsAll-In-One Tool Set

Pros: Has all the basic tools needed to work on computers. Really like the screw holder as it came in handy when I recently installed a wireless network PCI card.

Cons: Tools feel a bit cheap compared to name-brand products but they work just fine which is all I care about.

Other Thoughts: Been building and upgrading computers for over 17 years and wish I had this tool kit a long time ago.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent tool kit, comes with basically everything needed to build or fix a computer, I enjoyed the fact that Rosewill included a soldering iron. Have used the tools many times, they seem to be strong tools, comes in a very nice leather case.

Cons: None that I have found

Other Thoughts: A few things i have read in other reviews

1. The screwdriver does lock! idk why others dont think that just turn the metal ring until it reaches the base of the right angle bend.

2. Tools are sturdy havent had any break on me yet.

3. Soldering iron is nice, havent gotten electric shock from it.

4. The "pump" or "suction device" is actually a tool used to remove access solder if you apply to much or if you make a mistake.

5. If you are a computer technician why would you perchase this tool kit anyway? You should 1. Already have your tools, and 2. you should already have the tools that dont come with this tool kit.

6. You get what you pay for so stop complaining about this tool kit Rosewill is a good company. If you want better tools then stop being cheap and go out and buy better tools instead of giving newegg *low egg* scores.

4 out of 5 eggsSoldering Iron WARNING!!!

Pros: -Computer Tech in-training, has all the basic tools and need and more.
-Great price I got mine for $30 free shipping

Cons: None other than the soldering iron:
I google'd the model number (6G98, CL-3) and found that it is being RECALLED. I quote from the first page,"This poses a risk of ELECTRIC SHOCK and FIRE HAZARD to users... UL recommends that users stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase."

Other Thoughts: I am simply appauled of Rosewill that they didn't put any kind of warning in the kit. One of the items had a little sheet of directions on how to use the "IC insertion/extration tool" so why not ANY kind of warning for the soldering iron? It's a serious safety hazard and I DO NOT recommend using it at all. It doesn't even have a power button. Only if you have a soldering iron with a DIFFERENT model/serial number and even then, you're better off buying a standalone product for $15+ with safety features and a freaking power switch/meter.

5 out of 5 eggsFine toolkit

Pros: Comes with a soldering iron, which is exactly why I bought it.

Cons: Bit large.

Other Thoughts: I ended up breaking my screwdriver kit right after I bought this, so I was particularly happy with the purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsTo the gentlemen about the pump

Pros: To help you out some, The pump device is to remove excess solder from a joint, or 2 solder points. I have one in shop and they work great most of the time.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Now i didn't actualy purchase this tool kit but, i wanted to help with the question regarding the pump device.
