Rosewill RHKT-12002 Stainless Steel Kettle 1000W - Water, Tea or Coffee

Pros: looks and works great!

Cons: Tad bit slow to come to a boil...

Other Thoughts: Rosewill has another winner! Its decent quality for a steal. Super easy to clean, Have had it for a few months now, has a flat bottom with coils built in, which slows down heat transfer, but also doen't create yucky scales either, which is a nice trade off I feel. Unless you're looking for the fastest thing around, you will be perfectly happy with this thing, I know I am.

Pros: Nice looks, works very fast and well and good while it lasts

Cons: Failed in less than 3 months, causes circuit breaker to pop as soon as it is turned on.

Pros: had this sitting around awhile waiting for my tea brewing mood to come into fruition and find the teas to fit my fancy.

needed to stay up late for writing project and heard about rooibos root from s. africa, picked some up from walgreens. natural and naturally no caffeine and no sugar hey why not, i'll take the antioxidants

this kettle is not slow UNLESS you have the flash as your brother running circles around the kettle heating the water for you :/

this kettle does the job and fast

Other Thoughts: probably get another when on sale or with a promo

Pros: Low price; won't blow most dorm curcuit breakers/fuses.

Cons: Materials not disclosed in ad/copy!

Other Thoughts: DON'T own, but want to know before buying:
It says the plastic is BPA-free, but what about all the other bisphenol alphabet-soup of plasticizers that are just at toxic?? BPB, BPZ, and most in between!
And the stainless: Does it contain nickel, which leaches and is toxic? Rule of thumb: If a magnet won't stick to it, then it is poisonous, so don't buy it!

Pros: Price - I got it for less than 20

Cons: SUPER SLOW!!!! I like that its automatic and such, but it boils water too slowly.

Pros: Nicely balanced - empty. Have not filled with water (see Cons). At least now I get to see how RMA's are handled...

Cons: In response to another query here, yes - there is a plastic gauge and it is fed by an opening inside the kettle that has a soft plastic gasket. Big disappointment. Crazy place to put plastic! And not properly or fully described in the ad.

Cons: Very slow in heating as opposed to other brands that i have had over the years. I really cannot recommend this item.

Other Thoughts: After reading the other reviews before purchasing, I went ahead and bought it. My experience with this item is very favorable. It brings 1.5 liter of cool tap water (45-50 degrees) to a boil in less than 7 min. The construction is of good quality and was a good deal at $17.99. Very pleased with this purchase.

Pros: Heats water.

Had to post simply as a reply to the "slow" review. If you have 1.6L of water, and you need to heat it up with 1000W power source by about 90C, it will take at least *10 minutes* for the water to boil. If it takes longer, then the kettle is losing heat and is inefficient. If it takes less time, then it is somewhat against the laws of physics if things are functioning normally ;)

For North American power sources, 1kW is using more than half the maximum load on a typical 15A circuit. Now, in Europe you can get 3kW kettles because they have 20A 220V circuits so their water boils in 3.5 min, not 10. But you can't blame the kettle for that!!

Cons: From the pictures or Rosewill's website it is not possible to determine if the kettle is all stainless steel inside (including the filling cap), or it has plastic parts that come in contact with the water. No pictures inside the kettle. No pictures of cap.

Is the heating element immersed in water?

Other Thoughts: I'm a non-owner and will most likely remain so due to the above cons. Little information on a website doesn't matter for brick stores, but quite important for online sales.

Pros: I've had several electric kettles over the years, and this is the most quiet. I think it's a good trade-off for the minuses.

Cons: Takes 10-11 minutes to heat, other kettles I've had with the same capacity take about 7 minutes. Kind of ugly.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't have a small removable filter inside the spout, but if you descale occasionally, you don't really need one.
