4 out of 5 eggsRedesigned Model Isn't as Good

Pros: Timer
Really easy to clean
Easy to quickly & precisely control and change temp of cooking
Safe - shuts of when food boils dry
Portable but good design for building into counter top
Very powerful - rapid heating
Boils large stockpot full of water in less than 10 minutes
Surface does not get hot enough to burn food nor you
Newer model doesn't turn on and off continuously as I wipe it with a cloth because the touch controls are so insensitive (this is not really a plus)

Cons: Newer model has relatively insensitive touch controls
Newer model lacks built-in cooking programs
Newer model has very few selectable cooking wattages.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these units. The first one is over 2 years old and is used daily. I love it. I did not even buy a kitchen range for my new house. I just use 2 of these and 2 counter-top ovens.
But the unit has been redesigned. I bought the second one this year. It looks much the same, but has far fewer controls. The cooking programs of the earlier model are gone. The large selection of cooking wattages has been greatly reduced with the lowest setting only going down to 300. The earlier model has many more choices from 1500 down to 60. 60 is great for keeping food warm. It is easy to set the controls for temperature in degrees rather than in watts, but I prefer watts. And the controls of the second unit don't respond to touch well. I usually have to touch the controls from 3 to 6 times before they respond. The first unit was much more sensitive.
Final note: I bought a set of all stainless steel pots and pans. They have heavy steel bottoms and work extremely well. I also have a large stainless stock pot that is very thin steel, but it also works extremely well. The thickness of the steel does not seem to be important. It does need to be highly magnetic. The thin stainless, glass covered pot that comes with the second model seems to work very well. Talk about easy cleanup. My skillet has a non-stick surface and the cook top does not get seriously hot. Nothing sticks or burns on anything. It is a breeze to clean up after cooking.

2 out of 5 eggsIGBT Overheat

Pros: Works well with the given utensil.

Cons: Doesn't work with other pots. I have a stainless steel pot heats up, but after a while, it produces an "IGBT Overheat" error. And then it shuts down.

5 out of 5 eggsWORKS

Pros: Works and is quiet.

Cons: The pan is a give away as it is poor quality induction. The lid is a keeper as it fits other pans. Best pans are cast iron from Lodge and ALL-CLAD copper tri ply. The magnet sticks on the sides and bottoms of these pans and heats quickly. You get what you pay for so save up and buy one copper tri ply All-Clad pan.

1 out of 5 eggsRun away from it

Pros: Nothing

Cons: The 1st one was DOA. Thanks to Newegg replaced one for me
on March 2012. I don't exactly remeber how many times I used it but sure used it less than 10 times. Last week tried to have a hot pot dinner. In the middle of the dinner, it just dead and never can light up again. This cooker comes with a very cheap SS pot but I couldn't find this cooker work with any of my other better built SS pot.

Other Thoughts: This is a follow up review after having this cooker for almost a year.

5 out of 5 eggsWork Good

Pros: First it cheap, this is the greatest deal for cooker and stainless steel pot I can find out where.

Second it easy to use, I am able to use it right after I unwrapped it, I don't have to read instruction book to learn how to use the cooker.

Third the quality, the cooker look very good quality, and it work great too (the fan it little bit loud). The stainless steel pot look cheap and not a good quality stainless steel pot, i only use the pot for hot pot, so it work ok for me.

Cons: This is not negative review, The cooker only work with stainless steel pot, it will not work with nonstick pot.

so read the product description carefully, it will work fine.

Other Thoughts: I got little problem witht the cooker when I received and unwrapped it. but newegg customer service solves this problem for me in 2 days. thank you newegg for nice customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Many programmed settings. Doesn't heat up the kitchen. Great for deep frying, or to just keep food at serving temperature. Great temperature control accuracy. Very easy to clean.

Cons: Some enameled pans can slide on the cooktop surface. Use caution when using enameled pans.

Other Thoughts: I've had my Rosewill unit about two years, so the model may be slightly different.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: It looks pretty, that's about it.

Cons: Cheap pan, hard to control heat settings on unit.

Other Thoughts: On first use, the pan warped and with induction cooking that means no contact = uneven heating. Not to mention, the temperature settings available jump like 50-70 degrees at a pop (no, you can't just choose any temp, nor does it go up in small increments, like 10 degrees. Don't waste your time unless you like hovering over the pan and constantly adjusting the temp to keep it cooking and not burning.
