Quick Info

Pros: Plenty of power for most jobs requiring a hand blender, with lots of attachments. Great value ONLY if you get it during a sale.
Cons: NOT "variable speed with turbo," as Newegg states, but only single speed with turbo. Instructions label the power button as a "speed 1" button. Can use it as a pulse button, though. No slow speed, however.

Rating: 5/5Great quality, versatile and useful
Pros: Powerful motor, blade design makes very quick work of blending and potato masher attachment couldn't work more perfectly!
Cons: Whisk attachment if used carefully can be great for some applications such as whipping up eggs. The step-down coupler, however, doesn't quite reduce the speed enough to be practical for other applications such as mixing recipes containing powdered ingredients. ... unless you have a 5 gallon mixing bowl or plastic off your entire kitchen ;-)
Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this item! It is a total workhorse and makes quick work of things that would otherwise take much, much longer. I use the blender blades to make fresh made grapefruit juice. I just peel the grapefruits, throw them in a pitcher and touch the trigger. It'll go through 6 grapefruits in about a minute and a half, liquifying the pulp seeds and all!!! It creates a whirlpool effect with a suction so powerful it'll yank your whole arm down with it as it attaches itself to the bottom of the pitcher.
The potato masher attachment is quite simply THE BEST!!! I can't possibly rave about this attachment enough. It'll go through 5lbs of boiled potatoes, skins and all, in about 3min, leaving them perfectly, evenly and consistently mashed to a creamy consistency. No force or pushing required!! You just set the masher on top of the first potato you see and push the button and it does all the work for you! It literally sucks itself through each consecutive potato with no more than the its own weight. Awesome.
The whisk attachment is great for whipping up eggs/omelets. If you put it on turbo, it puts tons of air bubbles in the egg, which makes them cook super fluffy. The key to using this attachment successfully is to keep it perfectly plum/vertical at ALL times. it's when you start to tilt it that your kitchen starts to get decorated with your ingredients. If tilting is required, tilt the bowl with the blender, keeping them perpendicular to each other.
I would highly recommend this product.

Pros: n/a
Cons: it came out of the box broken
Other Thoughts: it came out of the box making a strange rattling sound, looking inside with a flashlight, i noticed something which looked plastic floating around inside. I don't know if I got a return or something, but I just packed it back up & sent it back.

Rating: 4/5powerful
Pros: Very powerful, well made stick blender. All of the lowers are machine washable which is a drawback on a lot of other models. Makes short work of pureeing in a stock pot.
Cons: Two speeds only, and even the low speed is pretty fast. It comes with a whisk attachment, but it whips so fast that it takes a large bowl to contain whatever you're whisking..

Rating: 3/5Not variable speed
Pros: Seems to have the power necessary for most tasks. Has 4 different heads that attach to base for various tasks.
Cons: This is falsely advertised as variable speed - there are basically two speeds - regular and turbo - each has it's own separate button. I have a failing (bearings rattling around inside) Braun variable speed blender and it is truly variable speed with infinite speed settings on a rotating dial. This was supposed to replace that unit - it remains to be seen if this two speed unit will handle all my needs.
Other Thoughts: Variable speed was high on my list of needs - didn't appreciate not getting it.
