3 out of 5 eggsOK I guess

Pros: 1080p, decent picture. Sound isn't bad.

Cons: Refurbished, the screen "shakes" after extended use or sometimes when it turns on. It's NOT the auto-adjust that you see w/ Windows... it's the TV freaking out. Have to turn it off then on again to remedy problem.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy refurbished.

1 out of 5 eggsWill NOT work as a PC monitor

Pros: Big. Works well as a paperweight.

Cons: Day 1 my Emerson LCD TV works fine hooked up to my PC. The next day I go to play a game (that had worked the first day) and I get a black screen with the message "This TV does not support the output format, video resolution and/or refresh rate being sent by the connected device." I triple checked my resolution & refresh rate, they are fine. Installed new graphics drivers, no improvement. Finally I unplug the computer and monitor for 30 seconds and restart- it works again! But only for a few hours. Then I get the same error again. And again. And again. Called technical support 3 times, they are useless, told me to contact the manufacturer of my PC. Nothing wrong with my PC, it works fine with other monitors. Others on the web encountered same issue, with no fix other than shutdown of both PC and TV- several times a day. Unacceptable. Two big thumbs down.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: Works great. Excellent price for a TV of this size and specification (refurbished price). Haven't had any issues so far. Just wanted a cheap TV for the garage...was a bit concerned of the brand (usually like to stick with Samsung), but I wanted cheap, and I got a great deal.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: It does display 1080p, as well as displaying the full screen from a computer...you have to use the "overscan" feature on your video card when hooking up through HDMI...that is very common with HDTV's, not exclusive to this one.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a good computer monitor

Pros: Big, cheap, bright. Nice image quality. Oh, I think it has a TV tuner, but I don't care about that.

Cons: DOES NOT DISPLAY 1920X1080 image from my computer. Dell laptop connected via HDMI / DisplayPort. About 3/4" of the image is trimmed from all four sides, obscuring the Windows task bar and application menus. Close/minimize/restore buttsons and the Start button are completely off-screen...you have to guess where to click when your mouse gets out of the visibible area. MAKES THIS MONITOR USELESS in the is mode. A quick scan through the TV's onscreen menus showed no image size adjustment options. I'll try the VGA port tonight, I guess.
Also, it's not an Emerson...I forget the name...never heard of it. Considering returning it as inaccurately described, except that it was so danged cheap...269. Might give it to someone who actually enjoys watching TV.

Other Thoughts: I really was looking forward to a rediculously large computer monitor. Frankly, it's probably too big for that to be practical. Maybe I'll find a 32" on sale...

1 out of 5 eggsTotally NOT Working

Pros: well, none, except for the price.

Cons: Simple - does not work.
Well, it does for a minute or two, but then just makes very loud noise and resets itself. All settings are gone, and it goes blank for 1 minute or so, then it repeats resetting with the loud sound over and over.

It does not show 1080p. works with 1080i though. when connected to PC thru HDMI, does not show about 5% of all sides. So, Start button is not visible on Windows. You need to decrease resolution from Full HD in order to see all of the screen.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice TV for a price, if it would work !

4 out of 5 eggsDecent with HDMI input

Pros: Good picture with 1080p input. Connected to my blu-ray player via HDMI, it's great.

Cons: Not as good on SD as my Vizio. RGB (VGA) input will recognize 1920x1080, but it gives you some weird panning-type desktop where you have to move the mouse to the sides/top/bottom to see the whole screen. Setting the display resolution to 1440x900 gives you a normal display.

Other Thoughts: Got this on sale at the local retailer when someone returned it after a Black Friday sale. For the price, it's a good HDTV and the remote works.
