3 out of 5 eggsWorks OK for about 18 months

Pros: The TV was a good price at the time. Picture is good.

Cons: Low overall quality

Other Thoughts: When I first got this TV, I should have known the quality was bad and returned it right away. The housing of the TV is very cheap and flimsy. When I received it, one of the pieces of the stand was broken, but I thought it was no big deal. A year later when I took it off the stand to mount it to the wall, another piece broke off. Now I must keep it on a mount.
About a week ago (17months of ownership), the TV started to not want to turn on. Somedays it will turn on after about 5-10 minutes, other days it just stays in limbo with the blue light on.
These TVs must have self destruct timers, because I have read reviews elsewhere (recently) that other people have had issues with their TV dieing after about 18months.
The TV was OK when it did work. Just be aware that you will need a new one after about 18 months.
Call me old fashioned, but I expect my TVs to last longer than that. I have other TVs that are much older and are doing just fine (Samsungs)

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good picture. Good price, bought it on Cyber Monday 2012.

Cons: Owned for a little over a year and a half, and now the screen won't turn on most of the time. Power light is responsive but screen is not.
Sound was always kind of crummy.
Base isn't very supportive of the weight, for the longest time we had to prop items underneath the screen to hold it up.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice picture for the price,

Cons: Sound not so good. Very tinny, started having trouble with audio within about 8 months of using TV. Now 11 months and lost audio completely

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of Junk

Pros: None I can think of!

Cons: Had trouble with it losing settings after a few months, had to reset them all the time. Now at just under 11 months it died. Worst piece of junk I've ever purchased! I guess now I'll see how the warranty is at under one year of use.

Other Thoughts: Should have known for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsBest set ever

Pros: I quit using cable-TV where I live because of horrible show selections and am now using "rabbit-ears" even though they look totally different. I can't believe the reception! It is great. There are 5 local stations, but the tv found 40. Forty free stations!
I now get a great picture and sound for free!
I would certainly buy another Sceptre.

Cons: What I paid is kind of high compared to today's prices.
At the time, 2012, I got a good deal with the Rosewill mounting device.

Other Thoughts: Look around, the Sceptre is a very good buy!

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Decision ever made

Pros: Has been working the first 3 months

Cons: Bought the product for the Black Friday sale last year (november). The TV was working as expected, good resolution etc until March.

In March, it suddenly stopped working. White smoke came out of the TV, logic board and wires burnt. After months of dealing with the most unhelpful Customer Service I've ever dealt with, they litteraly told me that my only option, was to wait for their warranty to be over, and wait for New Egg's one to take over.

For the short story, they asked me If I could do the repairs myself to change the differents parts of the TV, so it was a loop of asking for it, each part took 3 weeks to come in (they love not giving any news, you really have to dig for them).

Shipping the TV back to them would cost as much as getting a new TV.

Other Thoughts: I understand that the TV could be deffective, after googling the problem, I am not the only one having this issue. However, the customer service never sent any mail that is more than 6 words. No help whatsoever.

4 out of 5 eggsNice TV

Pros: CHEAP! Bought it as a daily deal for a little over $200 and had no problems.

Cons: Use it with a computer for streaming Netflix. It is a little grainy as a monitor, but great as a TV.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: It is inexpensive

It's 1080P

It's better than the last off brand 32" 1080P I bought

Scepter has always been a rather respected name in CRT monitors. They look like they are producing, cheaper, quality, devices these days.

Cons: Nothing I can find yet

5 out of 5 eggsIt is indeed a TV

Pros: Great price at the time.

Cons: If you are an audiophile don't buy this for the sound... Why an audiophile would buy a TV based on surround sound quality is beyond me though.

Other Thoughts: Have had this for a few months bought as a black friday deal. I don't use it every day as it is only connected to my game console. Still works so that's a plus since I read reviews about TV going black/dieing after a short while.
