LG 50" Class (49.9" Diag.) 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV 50PA6500

Pros: Up to now all my newegg purchases have been good experiences.

A nice TV - if working, I have a working one ordered through Dell.

Cons: When I first turned this on, there was a broad vertical streak on the left side. I called immediately to get the RMA. That was Dec, 13th.

It was packed up and ready to go from that day. Shipper did not come before xmas. Shipper did not come after xmas. Called support multiple times. Asked for supervisor multiple times. Finally shipper arrived to remove it on Jan 3rd.

Come Wednesday Jan 9th return still not confirmed. Called support again, and emailed bill of lading left by shipper.
Return finally acknowledged Jan 10.

Still waiting for RMA to be processed. Newegg have had my money for > 1 month, and have been using my front hall for storage of this defective item a similar amount of time. And the hours I have spent in chat-land and on phone trying to get this resolved.

To be fair, Newegg acknowledged their fault and issued a 50 gift certificate (whippee), but that does not really cover the time, inconvenience and aggravation of the whole exercise.

Other Thoughts: This item is supposed to be delivered by a 2 men on a truck with an power platform. It weighs about 85 lb. It was delivered by 1 woman.

I will not purchase a heavy item requiring special shipping from Newegg again.

Pros: At first I was leaning towards an LED HDTV but I decided on a Plasma TV after doing a bit of research. At first look I was VERY impressed with the viewing angle and the picture quality. I have it sitting in a moderately well lit room with multiple glare situations going on and I can't find a spot in the room where glare on the screen is any issue.
The stand is very sturdy and it has a swivel to boot which comes in very handy. The sound leaves a lot to be desired but I have some old computer speakers and subwoofer that I plugged the TV into and it works great.
I manly play my PS3 on it and stream via Laptop.

Pros:

Great colors
TV setup for dummies, SUPER easy to install
Sturdy remote

Cons: Cons:
The sound is not great and you can hear an audible buzzing at high peaks.

Other Thoughts: All in All I am very satisfied with this HDTV. It comes at a great price and the screen is just amazing. The sound leaves a bit to be desired but you can work around that with some 50 dollar computer speakers and subwoofer combo.

Pros: It arrived and had all components.Worth the $15

Cons: If I had paid the 'full price', I would have returned it. Kinda cheap, for sure!

Pros: Size, SlimFrame, Black level, Picture quality, Customizable settings, Controller, Thin design, Sense of Durability, Input options, Viewing Angle, Sturdy Base with Swivel control up/down and left/right, very fast refresh rate creates smooth images.

Cons: Glare (any light source in the room depending on the angle you are viewing the tv will be reflected like a mirror). you may need to re-arrange your light sources and/or the TV but it is worth it. example: Standing up in the kitchen with full lights on i see no glare on the tv, but sitting on the couch with the same lights on creates a ton of glare.

Other Thoughts: i was disappointed with the long wait time for the shipping company AIT (approx 7 days from the date of ordering before delivery) and requiring a 6 hour window of service after scheduled delivery; however the item was delivered safely and with good care, so i guess it's worth waiting for.

Pros: Screen size, picture clarity, ease-of-use

Cons: Lack of audio output options

Other Thoughts: This is an incredible TV (my first HDTV). I always hated those motion-fixing simulated frame rate things you see sometimes in the store, and this one doesn't have that. I was nervous about paying so much for an HDTV that might not be that much better than cheaper models, but it definitely is.

The on-screen menus and set-up instructions are really easy to use. The user interface should be a selling point of this TV.

The only downside is that it only has one audio output option, and it's digital optical audio out. There is no benefit to digital audio - it removes the ability to control external devices' volume via the TV, it requires newer equipment or an expensive converter, and the sound quality is actually a slight bit worse than analogue RCA. With all the video options, it's surprising there's only one audio option.

Overall, though, this is definitely the best TV I've ever seen.
