2 out of 5 eggsNot even close enough

Pros: motherboard is upgradable to bigger CPU, GPU etc.

Cons: This Computer has the Lowest Recommended Processor in warlords of draenor . Its ram is the slowest DDR3 on the market and the r7 240 is as worthless to gaming as a onboard graphics processor.

to be frank it has room to upgrade , but ask yourself why would i have to upgrade a whole computer i just bought ?

cause if you bought this then you would understand it doesnt play games smooth enough @ a decent resolution. you can almost build one at the same cost give or take a hundred bucks that will make a huge difference.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this thinking your getting a Gaming PC , For one research the parts on this PC most site reviews are from several years ago . that should show you how old the parts are. Also research the graphics cards Radeon R7 doesnt make it fast or better than older cards. you will get better performance out of a 5870 HD than this R7 240

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: -great PC for the price
-great foundation PC to build off of
-comes with a mouse and keyboard
-plenty of USB ports as well as different video ports
-open PCI-e slot for expansion
-plenty of room for extra CD/DVD/Blue ray burners, extra hard drives or whatever you want to add
-plenty of room for more fans
-USB 3.0 and 2.0 slots

Cons: -might want to upgrade the graphics card if used for extreme gaming.

Other Thoughts: Short Background: I'm a computer tech major and I've worked in the IT department at my college for a few years now.
I originally had planned to build a decent gaming PC for my brother (he's not a hardcore PC gamer, but we both enjoy PC games on a fairly regular basis), but after i saw the price of this for everything that you get, we decided to get this PC and upgrade it slowly if needed. So far he's been able to play all of his games (left 4 dead2, Skyrim, Minecraft, other steam games) without any problems on decent graphics settings. We haven't really upgraded anything to date (only added a wifi card)...if we do it will possibly be the graphics card as he gets into more PC games, but he's been totally fine with the one that's in it. I realized that some reviewers had problems with power supply, so far we haven't had a problem, and power supplies can kind of be iffy to being with (i end up changing bad power supplies at work ALL the time) a new power supply isn't unreasonably expensive either if need be, and there's room for more fans, if you leave your computer on a lot. Most everything in this PC is great for the price, i know that some people would probably want a better graphics card, which you can easily add, but this PC would be a good foundation to build on. The only thing we added was a Wireless card so he can use the WiFi. I got a decent one online for pretty cheap and since this PC has an open PCI-e slot, i popped it right in and everything worked just fine. P.S. the keyboard and mouse that came with it are fine (i forget which one, but one of them ONLY worked in the USB 3.0 slots and would not work in the 2.0, but not a huge deal).

5 out of 5 eggsupdate

Pros: am now on my second same computer...both working perfectly. they both get worked hard each day.. 13,000 hours on one and about 4000 on the other. as far as i am concerned, this is one of the best deals on newegg. and win7 is stable and works beautifully. the big case is a delight to work inside of. i am a desktop guy and this is great.

Cons: none, well, maybe a bit of a loud fan but no big deal at all.

1 out of 5 eggsVERY DISAPOINTED

Pros: it looks cool, it comes with a good keyboard and a mouse

Cons: it wouldn't turn on, customer service, low frame rate on big games, not enough performance for the price, everything you can think of

Other Thoughts: the box came on time. i was super excited to get it opened and use it. i plugged it in and it wouldn't turn on. i called customer service and they sent me an email with shipping info to send it back. i shipped it back and when it comes back to me the door on the front is crooked and doesn't shut right . i looked some more and found out that THE COMPUTER WAS DROPPED ON THE CORNER WHILE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FIXING IT. the stupid plastic on the bottom right corner is jammed up onto the metal part of the frame about 1/2 inch and the plastic is cracked there but they still had the nerve to send it back anyway. the computer takes quite a few minutes to start up, longer than my 4 year old piece of junk laptop. the optical drive doesn't read anything most of the time, its worked twice. i was really thinking/hoping this was going to be a good purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGood start

Pros: Booted up immediately and I downloaded all the updates and software I normally like to have on a machine. No problems at all. Responded quickly. I ran the Windows Experience rating tool, and as I suspected, the video card was the weak point followed by the hard drive transfer rate. The hard drive transfer rate was not a problem, but simply typical for that kind of drive. I intend to replace the video card and the power supply as soon as I can. Beyond that, nice box.

Cons: After getting this out of the box and looking it over, I could see a few things right away. First, the motherboard was limited. Only two RAM slots and very small, not many other card slots. Second, the video card was low-end. And third, the power supply needed a boost, comes with 500 watt supply, if it was going to handle a better video card.

Other Thoughts: All in all...not bad if you were looking at using it as a base to put together a decent gaming PC. The processor is very nice and there's plenty of memory. One thing I can honestly say is that NewEgg isn't hiding anything about this product. You know up front what you're getting and if you have any idea what you're looking at, you'll realize that the video card and the power supply are the weak points. If you're either willing to live with them or intend to replace them...then this is a good buy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming at an affordable price!

Pros: This unit arrived very well packaged. Also included the original box and book for the motherboard, which is good to have as reference. Also came with all necessary CDs. Hooked everything up, turned it on and everything works like a charm. I upgraded from an 08 Vista laptop with a dual core 2.20ghz, 4gb ram, and 256mb integrated gpu. I mainly bought this to play World of Warcraft. So far it has worked flawlessly, with an insane difference in the quality of gameplay. Previously on my old rig, id sometimes dip below 1fps on LFR or 25 man stuff with graphics set to low-fair. Ran this new rig through the paces, tried to find the most graphically intense fights, and still couldn't get it to dip below 15-25 fps range on Ultra. All in all I am very pleased with the performance. The case itself is also very roomy with tons of expansion space inside. The red LEDs and clear side panel give a nice visual touch as well.

Cons: The fan is a bit on the noisy side, but not overbearing. I also worry that with the 2 USB 3.0 ports on the top, having things plugged in like my headset, will cause stress with the weight of the cord pulling down over time. This remains to be seen with a longer period of ownership. I also emailed the company regarding a general product inquiry, took about 4 days for them to respond, which worries me in the case of if I ever have a real issue, how long it will take to be resolved, but hopefully nothing arises.

Other Thoughts: All in all, a very decent starter gaming PC for a reasonable price. I look forward to upgrading pieces one at a time, and keeping this unit up to par over the years to come. I will update this review after a longer period of time if anything changes.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate on previous review.

Pros: Relatively cheap.
Good case.
Windows 7.

Cons: Weak Power Supply.
Crashes.
Unable to boot.

Other Thoughts: I bought this computer about a week ago and reviewed it on 9/24/2014 5:45:34 AM. Since the review, I've had multiple BSODs and had to remove the video card to get the computer to boot at all. I attempted to add a couple of hard drives and fans that I had from a previous computer, but the power supply is not enough to support the addition and I don't yet have the money to upgrade the PSU. I attempted to switch to my older video card (Radeon HD 7700), but that card didn't work either. I'm currently writing this review on the computer, but it took about an hour to get the computer to boot in safe mode (with networking). I'll provide further updates as the situation continues.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdated review after owning it for 3 months

Pros: Great starting computer
decent processor
Nice mouse

Cons: Keyboard was a piece of junk
GPU is only a 200 not a 240
Processor only runs at 1.4 Ghz unless you go into AMD catalyst control and turn it up to the amount it says it runs at (3.8Ghz)

Other Thoughts: I had gaven it 4 stars, but lowered due to lies

Manufacturer Response:
