JBL Cinema 500 5.1-Channel Complete Home Theater Speaker System

Pros: I bought the Cinema 300 series around Thanksgiving for my gaming pc and decided to get another set for my htpc, however they were discontinued! So I ended getting this set instead, seeing how the prices were comparable while it was on sale.

As with the 300 series, this series has awesome sound. The bass is deep and the subwoofer does not rattle. I'm just an average joe, not an audiophile, so I can't tell the difference between the series, other than the physical difference of the satellites being larger than the 300's. I can turn the volume up really high and not get any static with deep bass and have a "cinematic" sound experience from both series.

Both speaker sets came with wiring, which is good so you don't have to go out and buy some. The speaker design is stylish.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm very satisfied with both series speakers. Had I known the 500's were going on sale, I would've held out against the 300's and bought two 500's instead.

Pros: I'm "throwing in" with comment on this product, although I didn't get it at the Egg. Egg offers comparable speaker systems at markdowns competitive with other brands. Egg has chosen to keep Cinema 500 at closer to MSRP.

These are great speakers. You don't need to manually adjust the subwoofer -- if crossover is managed by your AV/Receiver. Efficiency is about as high as it gets: ~90dB.

Cons: You'll either like the aesthetic design of these speakers, or you won't. Some complain about "flimsy" wire connection clips, but I don't see it as a problem. You'll want to secure your speaker wire to baseboards etc. anyway, so you shouldn't worry about accidentally pulling the wire out of its sockets.

Other Thoughts: Looking at similar systems by P*** A****, E*****, and other makes sold here at about ~$400, I'm still mystified how Egg hasn't marked these JBLs down. Egg would sell more of them if they had done so.

Pros: Excellent sound quality, sharp highs, strong mids, perfect balanced bass.

Cons: No wired input, but I'm sure you have other headphones for that.

Other Thoughts: I'm an audiophile from way back... I never thought that I would be saying any wireless connection sounded good, much less Bluetooth. But this is impressive. Obviously I'm not using these with a mixer, but I would in a heartbeat, they are just amazing sounding.

Pros: Very balanced sound output and speakers output a crisp and clear sound. Subwoofer has plenty of power and does not rattle the walls. Bass goes pretty deep and downfiring woofer is a great addition.

Cons: None that can think of except for price!! But definetly worth the extra bucks.

Pros: Sound Quality from these speakers and sub are awesome! It comes with speaker wires so no need to buy. Very stylish design and it looks great in actual!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I initially bought the Polk Audio RM75 5.0 speakers but decided to return those and got this set instead. I am glad I did! :)
