Rosewill REGD-6361 3-in-1 Detector Stud/Metal/Voltage Detector with LCD Display

Pros: My TV hasn't fallen down yet.

Cons: Didn't come with batteries.

Other Thoughts: I feel bad for everyone who put wholes in their walls. I bought this because it was a cheap bundle with my TV mount, and it couldn't hurt to have confirmation of the method I (and people before me for years and years) use: knocking on the walls and listening. The unit confirmed my auditory prediction for where the studs were, and all is well.

Pros: kind of works for current detection

Cons: simply does not work for studs- and yes I calibrate before each use, and have used other similar stud finders without issue for over 20 years - it's bi-polar: either detects studs everywhere or nowhere -- I even tested it in my garage where the studs are visible (as it is unpainted)

Pros: Replacement unit works just fine! See CONS below. Not too bad for the price!

Cons: First one was DOA. Newegg, however replaced the unit without making me go through the hassle of returning the defective one as it was a low cost item. Kudos to Newegg's customer service people!

Cons: A co-worker was using one of these on a jobsite to check if a socket had its power turned off before we removed a wall. His unit didn't detect voltage, so I checked it with my voltage tester (not a Rosewill) and it was indeed still live.

Why people try to save money when buying safety equipment is beyond me.

Pros: Looks cool. Almost like a real one.

Cons: Doesn't do what it is intended for. Period. If looking for a stud, it may show it anywhere, including where it actually is, but not necessarily will. I tested it multiple times during a period over a year - got dozens of holes in my walls, all in wrong places:)

Cons: Got here on time. But seriously. I know I am writing a review base shipping and not performance. But this is just ridiculous.

I am guessing they are shipping Rosewill stuff or smaller items through onTrac so it seems? I got my other items which are different brand through UPS from same order. This is twice that has happen to me.

Yup, looks like the same baldy OnTrac delivery guy that delivered last time. I see the their van pulling up and I figure he will try to at least ring the bell. I wanted to see if he would do the same thing like last time. Yup, he sure did.

This time I catch him trying to slide the package to my door while he was about a good 20 ft. The package did not even make it to my door within good distance. The package stopped under my neighbor's window which is about a good 6-7 feet away from my front screen door. Hell, the package was closer to my neighbors door than mine.

From last incident I was in the kitchen and hear footsteps coming closer to the apartment unit. I try to rush to the door to see who is approaching. I then hear a *SCHWEECH* sound before I can even get a good view of the delivery guy. He already got into the van and was already driving away. I looked down behind my screen door and saw the package about a good 8 ft from my door. This dude is eager to leave for some reason.


I am really disappointed with newegg lately.

Pros: None

Cons: I have followed the provided directions but the unit does not work at all. Sometimes it will calibrate correctly and I get the two beeps with check box but then the display will turn off almost immediately and there will be no beeps at all as you move it along the wall.

After reading the other reviews (mostly negative) combined with my own personal experience, I will be extremely hesitant to purchase a Rosewill branded product in the future.

Pros: None

Cons: For Stud and Metal, it shows all over the wall. But it works for voltage occasionally. I am not sure whether it passed in QC or not

Other Thoughts: I think the bad reviews are people that don’t know how to use it. They are mistaking the calibration with the actual sensor. This sensor calibrate for couple of second (check mark on screen) and then you are ready to scan. Also show you the location of the near stud, Voltage or metal with small arrow at the bottom of the screen. When you find the studs then show you a triangle and make a beep sound.

Pros: Good Value for money
3 settings
Finds studs and electrical cable
light weight and simple to use

Cons: Flimsy, cheap feel
Not as accurate as the more expensive models out there...duh
But still gets the job done.
Have Not used extensively, but has worked perfectly on the 2 jobs so far.
