5 out of 5 eggsSimply amazing!!!

Pros: Moto did it again! This PHONE (not useless gadget that among other things might even place /receive phone calls) is a beauty in it's simplicity. The e-ink screen is truly amazing and everything else is typical Moto: good sound and reception quality.

Cons: I don't care about texting, so the awkward way of displaying the texts do not affect me, BUT I really miss the original Moto ringtone...
Too bad is not quad band, to take it with me internationally, but I'll probably get an L7 for that ( I know is not this cool, but still...).

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks as always: bought it on Friday, got it on Monday AM.

1 out of 5 eggsbad celfon

Pros: delivered yesterday , supposed to be an unlocked phone but it wasn't. i called customer service for refund or return, not happening (phone is not on qualified) customer rep gave me a number to call (pda giant hot line) still un able to unlock phone and waiting for answers. now i am stuck with this useless phone.

Cons: delivered yesterday , supposed to be an unlocked phone but it wasn't. i called customer service for refund or return, not happening (phone is not on qualified) customer rep gave me a number to call (pda giant hot line) still un able to unlock phone and waiting for answers. now i am stuck with this useless phone.

Other Thoughts: this is probably a nice phone based on other reviews but customer assistance is bad. you feel like you are helpless. i had good experience with newegg before. but not for this one. (having second thoughts for the next time)

1 out of 5 eggsBASIC

Pros: Thin

Cons: Everything about it, I've been using an iPhone for 3 years, i picked this thing up as a backup for when I sell my iPhone, to prepare for the new one. I figured ok this thing would have a color screen, right? WRONG!!!! black and white analog display with alarm clock number. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get into a menu and check if there are even settings. I can't even figure out where the phone book is.

Other Thoughts: for $23 i should have known this was to good to be true, i figured all phone would come with some sort of a color display that would be easy to read and work around the menus with ...

so yourself a favor if your going with this just get an actual prepaid phone and just switch your sim card in that instead don't waste your money on this.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a (Moto)Fone

Pros: Excellent readability in direct sunlight.
Relatively durable.
Long standby battery life with good signal(a week or more)
Loud speakerphone.

Cons: E-Ink could be of higher resolution, enough that long words could be read without scrolling.
I wish it could charge via Micro USB instead of the proprietary interface.
Manual shipped with phone was basically useless.

Other Thoughts: It's a phone, and nothing more. I originally bought this phone as a backup phone in my car in case of emergency, but I loved it so much I use it whenever I am out in the wilderness camping and don't want to bring my expensive smartphone.

My cousin is 45 and is a little...slow, and his mom wanted him to get a phone that would be simple for him to operate. I have bought him several phones but the Motophone is the one that he likes and is easiest for him to learn and use now.

Pros: ok for the price.

Cons: bought this phone for my daughter while she travelled to Europe. The SIM card from Europe didn't work. Does not provide any info on the website regarding this.

4 out of 5 eggsweak battery but otherwise good backup/emergency bare-bones phone

Pros: -Cheap
-Light
-very solid feel
-Simple as a 20-th century cordless phone
-good as backup pone

Cons: -Battery life is below average. With light daily usage of no more than 5-10 min it won't last even a week between charges. More like 3-4 days.
-Not quad-band (not with this price). but it would make a nice travel phone

Other Thoughts: some people give it 2-3 stars, expecting this to be a main stream like cell. but product is not intended to be a mainstream texting/multifunction capable device. Its a phone for your demented grandma that stuck in 80/90s.
or reserve/emergency phone or for very light use.
don't expect it of it what it's not and you wan't be disappointed. For what it meant to be it functions/provides more than adequately.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap Phone

Pros: Inexpensive. Put in AT&T sim card and it worked! Basic cell phone with minimal features. You can make and take a call. Has text capability. Has alarm. Shows date and time.

Cons: Basic features only but it's what I expected for the price w/o any contract.

Other Thoughts: I dropped my iPhone several times (once in water, didn't work properly for a day) so I wanted another phone just in case my iPhone were to ever stop working. This is my emergency phone until I got to the AT&T store. Also bought it to switch over in case I didn't want to bring the iPhone on trips and wanted something to last a long time between charges.

1 out of 5 eggsPlay Phone

Pros: It's not heavy.

Cons: REALLY poor screen. Speakerphone sucks.

Other Thoughts: I imagine this phone is a favorite...of drug smugglers and IED makers. Honestly, I can't see it being used as real cell phone. This phone makes no frills phones look extravagant. Other than the lesson I learned about reading the return policy before making a purchase...I have nothing positive to say.
