2 out of 5 eggs:/

Pros: Its cheap

Cons: Its rubish, the touch screen is horrible, and if you press to hard you feel like its going to break. Also like some people mentioned, it sometimes wount read the wifi, you must have a very strong wifi or get close to it. wount even reach the rooms for me (were normally my ps3 get 65% signal, good enough to play)

Other Thoughts: i say buy something that works better rather than a touch screen, get what matters more to you. unless its for an elementary kid were they are verly learning or dont mind (because they are not the best at taking care of things)

1 out of 5 eggsBad device, unreachable customer service

Pros: Nice looking, and compact device.

Cons: Device broke after 6 months of use, and won't turn on again. Had problems even before it broke: It freezes often, had to drain battery and recharge before it restarts. MP3 player randomly pauses.

Tried to call and email customer service. No reply for email yet. Wife was on hold for 1/2 hour after calling their 630 area code customer support number (not toll free) and finally gave up.

Other Thoughts: Worst purchase I ever made. Don't buy product from Archos.

3 out of 5 eggsArchos

Pros: Great Little Device can do alot with some know how does everything i need it to do. screen big enought to watch video surf the net not many slow downs

Cons: Screen looks like it has a Refresh Rate of 30hz when scrolling the you can not read the wording the Screen is Very Cheap pressing at different points on the screen sometimes will cause it too press else where sometimes can be annoying and Boot time takes forever. and that you should be able to upgrade the firm higher.

Other Thoughts: could be alittle better for the price but not much to complain about

Pros: Android 2.2

Cons: Very Limited App Compatability even after sideloading google market.
The screen is tiny and not real easy to operate and its a single touch screen.
This is Low end device if you want a good android experiance you need to look at larger more feature rich devices.

Other Thoughts: for the price i could have bought a 10.1 inch multi touch duel core android 3.1 device. i had the device a few months i had it in a hard case in my pocket an the screen cracked archos did not cover it under warrenty and they wanted 100$ to repair it.

2 out of 5 eggsGet what you pay for

Pros: Media playing works well with many formats. Bluetooth is a plus....Other than a ton of java-like games and mini apps thats all i can think of

Cons: SEVERELY limited with apps. It doesn't support android market. Just proprietary appslib which doesnt have half the apps you want or see on tv. I thought the possibilities would be endless, but soon the novelty wore off. Size is ok, but wish it was bigger. Crystal clear pic however. When its not full of smudges.

Other Thoughts: A tablet is only as good as its apps IMO. It REALLY sucks to see an app that you want and is available for android but will not work with this android tablet. They should expand on that and make more apps available. Alot of the apps are either facebook or twitter related (ugh) or novelty apps like the police light. (it is funny though) Trust me, spend a few dollars more and get something better. My kids have reached the limits of them and they are only 9 and 12.

2 out of 5 eggsVery fragile

Pros: Android. Inexpensive. OK size. I got one when on sale to play around with an Android device. It's fast enough for a media player music/movies and streaming off internet via WiFi. As a media player, I really liked the Archos 32.

The screen was responsive enough, not the worst or best I've used, but it has one fatal flaw...

Cons: The screen is very, very fragile. One month into owning the Archos 32, I had the device in my pocket (it's the right size) when I lightly bumped/brushed into something. I heard the telltale "tink" and sure enough the glass of the display was shattered. I've never had a display on a touch screen device break so easily before. This was not the LCD that broke (that still worked), but the touch glass over the LCD, which makes a touch screen device with no buttons absolutely worthless. A call to Archos cust service informs me that to fix/replace the display would cost 95% of what I paid for the whole device. No thanks.

The app store is kinda worthless. Most apps appear to require GPS functionality, which the 32 does not have. (ok, more of a bad programming assumption by the app developers.)

Web browsing was slow, and would freeze for periods of time, was hard to read on a display this size, and would sometimes crash my d-link wireless router, which has no problems with other devices.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this device, get the extended warranty, period. Also, get a HARD case to protect the display.

The reason this device is so cheap is the due to the display using low quality/thin glass. The electronics underneath seem ok for what it is.

4 out of 5 eggsRe-review

Pros: Now have had this about 6 weeks. All of a sudden it said I was connected to wi-fi, but all internet sites said I had no internet connection. Tried rebooting and recovery steps. Called Archos tech support but the guy was not helpful at all. Called Newegg who told me to ship it back (free shipping) and my replacement one is on the way now.

Cons: Disappointed in Archos tech support. The Archos site said it was a toll free call but isn't.

Other Thoughts: Newegg gives better customer service than most businesses, and certainly better than I have received from B**T B*Y.

3 out of 5 eggsJack of all trades master of none

Pros: Wi-fi, multiple audio formats, android 2.2 after update, apps, good streaming video from youtube and other sites.

Cons: resistive touch screen is very delicate, medium quality audio, inconvenient control via touch screen of audio functions make it difficult to use in the car. Battery life is horrible.

Other Thoughts: It does a lot of things but none of them well. I wish I would have went with the cowon J3.

4 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: I love this. Super easy to use. Wi-Fi's just fine. Speedy and compact, so easy to carry in my purse. I set it up and began using it with minimal instructions. Great for traveling. Multifunctional.

Cons: Wi-Fi and BLUETOOTH drain that battery pretty quickly.
Keyboard is tiny due to it's compact size, so pick up some inexpensive styluses for speedy typing. Bluetoothing files took a little figuring out. Had to download another free app from the Market to bluetooth files to my phone.

Other Thoughts: I love gadgets so this is a "starter" tablet for me. You can Google Archos forums if you need more help with anything. Got a great deal here at NEWEGG.COM!
