5 out of 5 eggsSame old Great

Pros: High capacity.
Fast bootup.
Good volume.
Plenty of controls and settings.
Price.

Cons: Got it in purple because black was more expensive for some reason. At least it wasn't white.

Other Thoughts: Owned several of these over the last few years and have never been disappointed. Handed last one down to my brother. Very good value.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked well but only for less than a year

Pros: No problem in working with this player from Linux.

Cons: Became dead after 11 months during listening for no reason.

5 out of 5 eggsCan survive the washing machine!

Pros: I accidentally put it through the washing machine - at first I thought it was completely dead, but after letting it dry for a few days it magically works fine!

It's also easy to use, both for getting music on it and when listening to mustic.

Cons: Flimsy case - the clip breaks off fairly easily.

5 out of 5 eggshate the packaging

Pros: I just purchased several more of these for Christmas presents all the ones I gave last year still working fine the only thing they have to do is occasionally reset the unit which is eadsy to do when unit locks up either in the on postition and won't do anything or if off and won't turn on or even if when connected to computer you can do nothing just hold the power button for 20 seconds release then press button for a few seconds till it turns on it works everytime the unit locks up. the sound that comes from this unoit is outstanding as long as you have decent headphones I use after market set and still get 8-10 hours of listening time from the 1 over a year old unit.
FM radio works great in the local area I have read others that say it doesn't so it must be location that affects it. can charge and listen to music at same time if using a power tap from an adapter plugged into an AC source but not if plugged into computer I often listen to mine from about 10AM till 11PM when battery finally dies I just plug it in and continue on and it charges as well as plays at same time. the nesxt morning my unit fully charged for another grueling day of great music. no drivers issues with windows it loads what it needs to on computer and you can sync from their software or use media player to sync music or you can just use it like a USB drive and drag and drop music to the music folder.

Cons: with over 4,000 songs on the memory card it takes about 10 minutes to refresh the media everytime you add miore music to the thing, the fact that you have to reset it and most times it starts from the beggining of alphabet instead of going back to where you were I have over 4,000 songs on a 16GB card and even though the unit scans through them fast it still a hassle finding the song you were on and if it was last night you most likely forgot where you were in song list.

Other Thoughts: you do not need to use the supplied CD for anything unless you want to do rhapsody music purchases there are no drivers or anything else that you need on the disc, not worth taking an egg off but the plastic packaging that it comes in is meant to keep you from getting to the unit you need a large pair of sissors or a razor blade to get the stuff out of the packaging.

1 out of 5 eggsWill not charge

Pros: Cute

Cons: My fault - I did not realize there was a limited refund policy from Newegg. - Bottom line is that the player did not take a charge and the instructions that came with the internal with the player were for a different model. So I am stuck with a little purple Sansa Clip Mp3 Player that does not work.

3 out of 5 eggsmicrosd card problem & solution

Pros: This is a pretty good MP3 player. Small, affordable and worked great with a SanDisk 16GB microsd card for several months. Was a great little 20GB (18+ really) music player for the car, or whatever. The only problem was having to decide which songs to load and which ones to leave off. So I finally bit the bullet and ordered a 32GB G.Skill microsd card (from NewEgg).

Cons: Well, that's when the major flaw first showed itself. I mean, it already had a bit of a bad habit of freezing up occasionally, but a quick reset (holding down power button for 15secs) would take care of that.

No this problem sucked... I'd been anxiously awaiting the 32GB card, knowing that I'd be able to fit 90% or more of my music on the player. I'm 41, so I've spent years carrying 4 or 5 cases of CDs to have my music in my car. So having most of my collection in a matchbox sized device that can play any track at any time is like heaven to me.

Problem is the player would not recognize any songs I'd load on the card. I was so disappointed and searching the web initially provided no solutions. Many people reported the same problem, but any solutions that worked for them weren't doing the trick for me. No matter how I loaded music to the card, WMP (MTP mode), MSC mode (drag and drop), the player would show the card capacity used, but could not see the actual songs.

Other Thoughts: Then I finally happened upon the user reviews for the Sansa Clip Zip here on NewEgg and hallelujah, these cats had the solution! They were experiencing the same problem on their Zips and declared that the Sansa firmware was the garbage causing the problem. They had installed the Rockbox firmware on their players and problem solved. Well, this sounded like it was worth a try and 30 mins later, I was successfully uploading my music to the microsd and the player was successfully "seeing" the music. It's only been one day and I've still got more to learn about Rockbox, but so far it's been great. Hearing songs from my own CD collection that I've literally never heard before and others that I might've never heard again without this player & storage capacity.

Has been a good little player. Have thoroughly enjoyed it over the past 7 months. But beware of possible problems with microsd cards and the possible need to "Rockbox it".

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little player

Pros: way cheaper than a MAPPLE product. Plays many file types, its tini-tini and sounds good!
Menu is easy to navigate.

Cons: included headphones are OK, (not half bad) but switch them out for a nicer set if you really want great sound.

Other Thoughts: Great gift, great price!
