2 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 player, but stupid built-in battery.

Pros: Great MP3 player, 5 band eq, easy to get around once you know how.

Cons: built in battery, can't put your own rechargeable's in it. enough said.
Battery went from 100% to about 30% in the first 3 months of using. Sucks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: I have had my Clip for many years now and it has been used nearly every day for my fitness regiment and for just enjoyment while on my submarine. It has been rained on, sweat all over, dropped, kicked, stepped on and put into many other damaging situations. So far the clip has broken off the back and I've had to solder my audio jack four times, but considering what I've done to it, that's nothing. Still in perfect operational order as of right now.

Cons: Doesn't read my 32gb micro SD card for some reason.

Other Thoughts: I've broken three Ipod's that I've received as gifts through the years and always gone back to my old Clip for durability reasons. If you don't know how to solder then the audio jack issue might be a deal breaker for longevity, but for me it's just business as usual.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective on day one

Pros: Small, portable, easy to use.

Cons: Randomly turns off frequently.

Other Thoughts: Had the old design, CLIP without the +. Had issues with that one also. Had to open it up and solder the connections for the headphone jack. After that it worked well. Thought I would buy the newer design. Big mistake.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Ulcerative,

My name is Allen from SanDIsk support. I am sorry to hear that your player is turning off intermittently. There can be various reasons which may have caused this. We would like to know more about your issue in order to isolate it. SanDisk stands behind the warranty on its products. 4 out of 5 eggsDefective, but has potential

Pros: Easy access to music. Good bright OLED display. Custom audio settings with a 5-band equalizer. Starts playing from where it left off when powered off. Has good FM radio reception. Has good fast forward and rewind for navigating through larger files. It is small and light weight.

Cons: I had to get an RMA the day I received the unit because the sound to the headphones would cut out when I wiggled the headphone plug. I look forward to getting a replacement because the rest of my experience with the player was very positive. With the exception of the defect with this unit, it is much better overall than the cheap MP3 player I bought a year ago from a local electronics store.

5 out of 5 eggsReasonable

Pros: Reasonable sound quality, easy to use, very small and light, fairly good volume

Cons: Not the best sound quality, doesn't recognize playlists by folder when adding them from the computer

Other Thoughts: It's pretty good for it's price. It's not the best sound quality but I didn't expect that with a little 30 dollar MP3 player. It didn't recognize playlists just by adding folders to the existing playlists folder, but it still picked up all the songs when I put them there. The auto-sorting isn't bad, and it's easy to get to the songs I want. Sound quality isn't great, but it's surprisingly good for such a cheap player.

Overall it does everything I wanted it to. As long as it lasts for a while I'll be happy with the purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat little device

Pros: I recommend jumping in this over the nano.
It's small. Light and built in clip great for running.
Plays radio AM/FM and single drag and drop style fits my methods.... Easier.

Cons: It is mostly plastic but

Other Thoughts: Can take a beating!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for running

Pros: It's small, lightweight, and clips easily onto the edge of my pocket or shorts. Unlike some similarly-sized small MP3 players that have no display, this one does, and it works well for selecting what you want to listen to and seeing what's playing. I toss it in my bag with my clothes doing anything to keep it safe when I shove the bag under seats, etc, and it has never broken. The battery life has never been a problem. I use it when running and it has survived about 400 miles so far without problem.

Cons: The program/window that opens up when you connect it to the computer (Windows 7) doesn't seem to work correctly. It always reports 0% battery life and you can't close the window (if you do it just opens up again). However, it's easy to ignore. And if you just open it up as a folder, it's easy to drag MP3 files to the folder. So this doesn't bother me much at all. Certainly far outweighed by the pros.

Other Thoughts: If you want an MP3 player with bluetooth, wifi, the ability to sync with other devices (e.g., running monitors, timers, GPS), etc, then this might not be for you. But if you just want a basic MP3 player to use when running that you can easily clip to shorts instead of having to strap it to your arm (and one that actually has a display), this one works well. And it's cheaper than most, so if something happens to it, you're not out as much money.

5 out of 5 eggsSansa Clip

Pros: universal mini USB charger, no special charger to have to carry around. Easy to use and one of the few audible ready devices on the market.
Cheap but work great, I use the sleep timer a lot and it is a great feature.

Cons: none really except usually these little sandisk mp3s are only good for about a year, so get a 3 year extended warrenty if you can.

Other Thoughts: I like the clip, great for using at the gym
