iPod nano (the 7th generation), completely renanoed.

Like a small sized iPhone with a Home button, the thinnest iPod nano has a 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display that’s great for browsing album art, photos, videos and more. A smaller and better lightening connector is designed to match the thinnest iPod nano. With Bluetooth 4.0 built in, you can pair your iPod nano with speakers, headphones, your car stereo, and other Bluetooth-friendly devices. All new Earpods not only provide perfect fit but also perfect sound. iPod nano the 7h generation also packed the previous generation’s advanced features such as Genius as your personal DJ, along with a built-in FM radio, a pedometer, an optional Nike + iPod Sport Kit, and more. With accessibility features that help people with disabilities enjoy music, audiobooks, and more, the new iPod nano is a great device for everyone.

  • newegg New body. Same soul. About the size of a credit card — and just 5.4 mm thin — the new iPod nano is the thinnest iPod ever made. The 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display is nearly twice as big as the display on the previous iPod nano, so you can see more of the music, photos, and videos you love. Buttons let you quickly play, pause, change songs, or adjust the volume. The smooth new anodized aluminum design makes iPod nano feel as good as it sounds. And iPod nano wouldn’t be iPod nano without gorgeous, hard-to-choose-from colors (If you purchase a red one, Apple will give a portion of the purchase price to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.)
  • newegg Bluetooth technology Your music experience gets even better now that iPod nano has Bluetooth 4.0 built in. Pairing iPod nano with Bluetooth-enabled headphones and supported speakers is a cinch. With no wires in the way, working out with iPod nano is even easier. (No more getting wires caught in your free-weights.) And if your car’s sound system is Bluetooth enabled, when you sit down in the driver’s seat, your iPod nano is ready to pick up where you left off. Without missing a beat.
  • newegg Music, Video, Radio, giving you all entertainment you need iTunes allow you to fill your iPod nano with music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, podcasts, and more. Just buy from the iTunes Store on your Mac or PC, or import your CD collection into iTunes. Then you can make your own playlists, create Genius playlists, choose Genius Mixes, and sync it all to your iPod nano. Getting your groove on is simple. Tap to play your favorite songs,or entire albums, or everything by one artist. You can even browse by genres or composers. Flip through you music with Album art. Or give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. With Genius as your personal DJ, you can stay in the mood long as you wish. Now you can enjoy video on the widescreen 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display. And built-in FM radio keeps you up on what’s going on out there.
  • newegg All-new EarPods and lightning connector All new EarPods rest and stay comfortably inside a variety of ear types — while also producing the best sound quality possible. They sound unlike any earbuds you’ve ever heard. And the audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones. Apple replaces the 30-pin dock connector with something newer, smaller, and better. It’s called Lightning, and it’s significantly more durable than the 30-pin connector. It’s also reversible, so there’s no wrong way to plug in the cable. If you have an iPod nano accessory that depends on the 30-pin connector, you can still connect it to your iPod nano with a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (sold separately). Though with more and more accessories adding wireless capabilities through Bluetooth technology, thankfully cords and cables needn’t be a concern.
  • newegg Fitness. Feel the beat. And the burn. iPod nano is the perfect workout partner. It gives you some much-needed musical motivation and provides real-time feedback. Since Nike+ support and a pedometer are built into iPod nano, there’s no need to connect a receiver or use a shoe sensor to track your steps, distance, pace, time, and calories burned. Built-in Bluetooth technology lets you wirelessly connect to heart-rate monitors and headphones, making it easier to exercise. And at the end of your workout, sync iPod nano to to track your daily activity and goals, check your NikeFuel, and monitor your fitness progress against yourself and your friends. Then get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
  • newegg Accessibility. iPod nano comes with accessibility features that help people with disabilities enjoy music, audiobooks, and more. VoiceOver is the world’s first gesture-based screen reader which speaks the names of onscreen menus, songs, or artists — with a tap of a finger. If you prefer higher contrast, you can change the display to white on black. Use the Invert Colors feature in any application, as well as on the Home screen. If your hearing is limited in one ear, turn on Mono Audio to route audio into both EarPods and hear both channels in either ear.

3 out of 5 eggsWhy so expensive???

Pros: 16 gb storage. New headphones sound very good, but last about as long as the old ones. A month tops. It gets a 3 only because the sound is good and battery life is outstanding. I ran it on a test for 14 hours and it still had 1/2 of the battery left.

Cons: Where to start? They have changed the charging cable from the easy to use and standardized old version to the "lightning" cable. Soooooo, every device you have now is rendered useless. Oh, but they do sell an adapter to turn the old cable into a lightning cable. $40!!!! And it doesn't work to sync anything. So the 3 docks and the built in car adapter now do not work. When I tried the $40 adapter, it syncs for 2 songs, then stops. Other companies have knock off lightning cables but they only charge. I think Apple has the audio syncing patented to prevent anyone from making a stupid situation tolerable.

Other Thoughts: Once other companies come up with decently priced, usable cables it will be decent. But the lightning adapter is the "new recipe coke" of our generation.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Quality created product. Have had no problems with it whatsoever. The new earbuds are extremely comfortable.

Cons: Kind of annoying to buy the Lightning to 30-pin adapters for my existing hardware.

Other Thoughts: The only reason this got 4 eggs was for the Lightning cable instead of the old 30-pin. Other than that I've really enjoyed using this product.

1 out of 5 eggsLast Apple Product - I'm Done

Pros: It has the potential to be a really cool little MP3 player. Scrolls through album covers, and 16 gigs is a lot of tunes. When you grow out of the infantile Apple world, you'll discover what a giant rip off their products really are, and how poor their support and warranties are.

Cons: No wonder they are the richest company of earth - they make their products in abuse factories in China, and jack up the price here to obscene levels. Their customer care and tech support is terrible - they can barely answer the phone in under half an hour. Mine was defective, and after hours with tech support, I brought it back to the store.

Other Thoughts: Customer Care and Tech support didn't know Apple's return policy. I don't believe that, I think they want to avoid encouraging any returns. The sheer greed of this strategy is staggering, but then they are paying lawyers to sue every other tech company (especially Samsung, without whom they couldn't survive).
