iPod nano (the 7th generation), completely renanoed.

Like a small sized iPhone with a Home button, the thinnest iPod nano has a 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display that’s great for browsing album art, photos, videos and more. A smaller and better lightening connector is designed to match the thinnest iPod nano. With Bluetooth 4.0 built in, you can pair your iPod nano with speakers, headphones, your car stereo, and other Bluetooth-friendly devices. All new EarPods not only provides perfect fit but also perfect sound. iPod nano the 7h generation also packed the previous generation’s advanced features such as Genius as your personal DJ, along with a built-in FM radio, a pedometer, an optional Nike + iPod Sport Kit, and more. With accessibility features that help people with disabilities enjoy music, audiobooks, and more, the new iPod nano is a great device for everyone.

  • newegg New body. Same soul. About the size of a credit card — and just 5.4 mm thin — the new iPod nano is the thinnest iPod ever made. The 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display is nearly twice as big as the display on the previous iPod nano, so you can see more of the music, photos, and videos you love. Buttons let you quickly play, pause, change songs, or adjust the volume. The smooth new anodized aluminum design makes iPod nano feel as good as it sounds. And iPod nano wouldn’t be iPod nano without gorgeous, hard-to-choose-from colors (If you purchase a red one, Apple will give a portion of the purchase price to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.)
  • newegg Bluetooth technology Your music experience gets even better now that iPod nano has Bluetooth 4.0 built in. Pairing iPod nano with Bluetooth-enabled headphones and supported speakers is a cinch. With no wires in the way, working out with iPod nano is even easier. (No more getting wires caught in your free-weights.) And if your car’s sound system is Bluetooth enabled, when you sit down in the driver’s seat, your iPod nano is ready to pick up where you left off. Without missing a beat.
  • newegg Music, Video, Radio, giving you all entertainment you need iTunes allow you to fill your iPod nano with music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, podcasts, and more. Just buy from the iTunes Store on your Mac or PC, or import your CD collection into iTunes. Then you can make your own playlists, create Genius playlists, choose Genius Mixes, and sync it all to your iPod nano. Getting your groove on is simple. Tap to play your favorite songs,or entire albums, or everything by one artist. You can even browse by genres or composers. Flip through you music with Album art. Or give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. With Genius as your personal DJ, you can stay in the mood long as you wish. Now you can enjoy video on the widescreen 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display. And built-in FM radio keeps you up on what’s going on out there.
  • newegg All-new EarPods and lightning connector All new EarPods rest and stay comfortably inside a variety of ear types — while also producing the best sound quality possible. They sound unlike any earbuds you’ve ever heard. And the audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones. Apple replaces the 30-pin dock connector with something newer, smaller, and better. It’s called Lightning, and it’s significantly more durable than the 30-pin connector. It’s also reversible, so there’s no wrong way to plug in the cable. If you have an iPod nano accessory that depends on the 30-pin connector, you can still connect it to your iPod nano with a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (sold separately). Though with more and more accessories adding wireless capabilities through Bluetooth technology, thankfully cords and cables needn’t be a concern.
  • newegg Fitness. Feel the beat. And the burn. iPod nano is the perfect workout partner. It gives you some much-needed musical motivation and provides real-time feedback. Since Nike+ support and a pedometer are built into iPod nano, there’s no need to connect a receiver or use a shoe sensor to track your steps, distance, pace, time, and calories burned. Built-in Bluetooth technology lets you wirelessly connect to heart-rate monitors and headphones, making it easier to exercise. And at the end of your workout, sync iPod nano to nikeplus.com to track your daily activity and goals, check your NikeFuel, and monitor your fitness progress against yourself and your friends. Then get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
  • newegg Accessibility. iPod nano comes with accessibility features that help people with disabilities enjoy music, audiobooks, and more. VoiceOver is the world’s first gesture-based screen reader which speaks the names of onscreen menus, songs, or artists — with a tap of a finger. If you prefer higher contrast, you can change the display to white on black. Use the Invert Colors feature in any application, as well as on the Home screen. If your hearing is limited in one ear, turn on Mono Audio to route audio into both EarPods and hear both channels in either ear.

5 out of 5 eggsXmas Nano

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: It was a complete hit with my daughter. Her old Nano was beginning to fail after 6 long years of abuse. The new touch screen model was well received and she likes the 4X capacity over her old Nano. Even with her library she hasn't been able to fill it up!!!

Cons: None!

4 out of 5 eggsClose to Nano 5th generation performance

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: The addition of Bluetooth. With the growing ubiquity of affordable Bluetooth capable devices (speakers, A/V components and both built-in and accessory adapters for vehicles), the Bluetooth capability of the 7th generation nano is great in helping reduce reliance on wired connections for output through big speakers.

Cons: The Apple "lighting" connector. This proprietary form-factor replaced Apple's *previous* 30-pin proprietary form-factor connector. So those 5th generation compatible external charging devices? You won't be using them to power your newest iPod. Too bad Apple can't lower itself to consider industry standard connectors on the other end of the USB cable.

Other Thoughts: The iPod Nano 7th generation offers a mix of features and design changes that I feel make it a worthy replacement for 5th generation users...but it's not a slam-dunk total improvement.
What's better:
-The addition of Bluetooth. With the growing ubiquity of affordable Bluetooth capable devices (speakers, A/V components and both built-in and accessory adapters for vehicles), the Bluetooth capability of the 7th generation nano is great in helping reduce reliance on wired connections for output through big speakers.

What's worse:
-The Apple "lighting" connector.

What's a wash: slightly smaller size comes at the expense of the familiar multifunction control wheel. The new touch screen will take some getting used to, bit is largely intuitive.

What's gone since 5th generation: video, audio capture.

The overall set of installed (and fixed...no visit to the Apple store is needed) is similar, and the sound quality is fine. If you want to add Bluetooth, a worthwhile upgrade from 5th generation; otherwise, I'd stay put...

1 out of 5 eggsRefurbished!!

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: It's an ipod - but see below.

Cons: I ordered this at a higher price than you can get it at big box retailers because I love Newegg and it's convenient and fast. However, when I got the iPod it came from a reseller called ElectroBrands (which is fine) but it's refurbished, and not refurbished by Apple. It's going back.

1 out of 5 eggsRip Off

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: Play music

Cons: Not worth, I bought a Sony 8G MP3 player with the price of $50. I thought this one is better than Sony with such a high price tag, however after compared usage, see no difference. Then why tagged such a high price? Not make sense

4 out of 5 eggsfirst apple

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: small and easy to learn.
decent sound quality.
very happy with the decibel output, plays loud enough for my older ears.
i-tunes was also easy to learn.

Cons: have to download a special i-tunes version if you running a 64bit operating system.
the 64 bit version is not offered up front, only the default version that you later find is not compatible.
it was a pain to seek out the 64 bit version.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT WORTH IT

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: (considering upgrading from SanDisk mp3 player)
-2 inch colored screen (still can see pixel)
-battery life enough for a week of moderate use and 3 day at the gym pumping the volume.
-the side hard buttons can do many extra maneuvers.

Cons: -NO APP available. considering adding $100 for a perfect Ipod Touch 5th Generation with apps, camera, larger screen, games, bigger battery, wi-fi...ect. or just drop down to a shuffle at $50.
-SIZE. yes, size does matter. the previous gen of nano is perfectly fine with 1.54 inch display and small/compact to fit in pockets/shirt (with clip). OR go to Touch and get a cellphone size with tons of apps and a camera. THIS NANO IS JUST RIGHT IN BETWEEN!

Other Thoughts: it is nice to have a cheap touch screen mp3 player BUT the price, size, functionality is JUST IN BETWEEN. no cheap, not expensive. not big, not small. not fun, not boring. JUST A PAIN IN THE NECK.

4 out of 5 eggsCool

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: 16 gig Uploaded my music and still have lots of room. Size is a pro and con. I don't care the newegg warehouse staff are the style.

Cons: Price. Size.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this on Sat. got it Monday. Which could also be a con as I found out I did not need this after all. I tried to cancel it from my order after an HOUR and I could not change the order. I was quite unhappy with that aspect. But how can you complain when they served me like a champion and got it out the door and to me in 1 business day. Sometimes you get breaks sometimes ya don't. Put it bluntly I won't be removing business from Newegg for having the fastest service imaginable.

5 out of 5 eggsLuAGh OUT LoUD

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: -Shipping was good no problems
-Thing works no problems

Cons: -The USB cable, apple is notorious for doing there own thing
the end of the USB where you stick the thing into the ipod itself is some sort of bastardized version of everyone micro USB plug in...why couldnt they just kept the same format as everyone else....
