4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It does it's job. It was only $18. It is relatively loud. I'd say it's well worth the money I paid. I expect it to be around for a while, as I stress tested it at maximum volume for about 45 minutes when I first got it. Still works and nothing blew.

Cons: It's not top of the line. If you want amazing quality and audio level, spend more money.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for budget speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than standard

Pros: These are cheap, durable and from a well known brand. I bought these to upgrade from some Cyber Acoustic PC speakers with sub woofer. These aren't high end at all but they are a lot better than your ten dollar standard computer speakers.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I saw these around Christmas for 39.99 now that they are 19.99 it's definitely a great deal to jump on if you have a new sound card and want to get something cheaper than the $ 300.00 - 5.1 surround system but better than the 10.00 standard bookshelf speaker.

3 out of 5 eggsEh...

Pros: It produces fairly clear sound and the remote is a nifty feature.

Cons: This setup connects through a single 1/8" jack, no way to isolate the front speakers from the subwoofer on your soundcard to take advantage of true 2.1 supporting software/hardware. Aside from that, the subwoofer is mild, at best. Do not get this product if you are looking for room-shaking sound, you will be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: While the bass is mild, it works out for me. I have to keep my volume fairly low for the consideration of family/neighbors. So, if you want something that will deliver low-range sound without annoying everyone in your proximity, it's a good buy.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice crisp sound.

Bass doesn't override treble too much when turned all the way up (have had some speakers where high bass has caused choppiness in the treble).

Sound doesn't distort at max volume

Cons: Bass is a bit low but the woofer is rather small.

There is a slight humming noise coming from the speakers when turned on but nothing is playing. It is either the speakers themselves or electrical interference from other wires (not sure). Not a bad thing as I have to be listening for it to really hear it.

Other Thoughts: Considering the cost these are really good speakers. Don't take up a lot of room but offer good sound.

3 out of 5 eggsConstant Hum

Pros: Decent sound. Looks good. Okay for $15.

Cons: A constant hum when switched on. Does not vary with volume. Inaudible when muffled by other background noise.

2 out of 5 eggsNot great

Pros: Good price, especially on sale. You get two speakers, a bass unit, and a wired controller.

Cons: No covers over the speaker heads at all
Wiring is awkward, btwn the controller the tweets and the bass unit, longer cables would have helped with mgmt
Getting a lot of echo and sound lag,

Other Thoughts: I have not extensively tested this unit to find out if they can be tweaked to perform more reliably, but with current sound card drivers they sound terrible out of the box. Maybe mine is defective, but an RMA does not redeem the fact that I was sold a defective product.
