5 out of 5 eggsAwesome speakers

Pros: For a set just over $100 this is an amazing set. I've owned these for 3 years and regularly crank the volume to enjoy a wide range of music. The clarity is superb. I've not had a single issue with these speakers.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Add a sub-woofer of your choosing. =)

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the price, but...

Pros: These sounds pretty decent for the price, especially for gaming and non-critical music listening (i.e. not for mixing). If you want better, you're probably going to have to pay more, especially if you go them on sale like I did

Cons: They behaved really weirdly recently - they started sounding muddy, then started crackling, then died. Two days later they were working again and have worked fine since. I have no idea of what caused that, but it wasn't my MB, as I plugged in other speakers and they worked fine.

Other Thoughts: I'd given them 2 stars when they weren't working, but now that they're working again I've added another star. Hopefully that was just an anomaly and they'll keep working long into the future.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice looking, no distortion even at maximum volume

Cons: Not Hi-fi: mid & highs barely ok

2 out of 5 eggsPretty good until they died

Pros: They're pretty good for the price, as long as they keep working.

Cons: They died almost exactly 2 years after purchase, despite being used infrequently and always at reasonable volumes. They suddenly sounded really muddy, then started crackling, then nothing. The blue light still goes on, but they're dead (I tested them with other inputs, etc.). More trash for the landfill.

Other Thoughts: I'm so sick of companies making disposable junk like this. Speakers should last more than two years!

5 out of 5 eggsFor the price I paid? EXCELLENT!

Pros: Three drivers, one high, two mids. Sound EXCELLENT, very warm sound.

Cons: Size, they're MASSIVE speakers. The width is perfect, but the height is pretty high.

Other Thoughts: These are excellent speakers. I picked these up for 100 bucks on a daily deal, and don't regret it at all. I was set to pick up the t20's for 70 bucks, but I saw these for 100 and couldn't pass it up.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo years going strong

Pros: As advertised. They shut off automatically, come back on w/a 4-sec delay with no problems. Can get mostly loud enough, clear full-range sound, tho the small woofers limit any bass, but I use these w/subwoofer (Pioneer 8") so the combo is just fine -- my previous speakers are now the L and R sides in a 5/1 setup.
Definitely worth the 79 I paid two years ago -- would do so again for that price (tho for more $, I'd look even higher) and am very satisfied so far for a computer speaker system of modest means.

Cons: Lack of deep bass, due to small woofers -- physics cannot be overcome.

3 out of 5 eggsAuto Mute Sucks!

Pros: High quality, nice piano black finish.

Cons: This Auto Mute is killing me. Any time I watch a video it seems like I always have to restart it so the speakers can turn on. So aggravating. As for Facebook or email notifications, forget it, speakers will be off. Tried to work this issue out with the manufacture to no avail.

Other Thoughts: If you like this model, buy the older version on the internet. I purchased a pair and am much happier.

1 out of 5 eggs1 Year 1 Month Old & No Longer Turn On

Pros: Sounded decent for the Shell Shocker price I got them for.

Cons: The speakers will turn themselves off when not in use. It then takes a few seconds for them to power on. This is only a mild annoyance. However now, just after a year, they no longer power on, zero, dead. A product at this price point should give a buyer more than that.

2 out of 5 eggsThese are terrible

Pros: They sound pretty good i guess. They can get really loud without distorting, until...

Cons: When I plug headphones in they suddenly get real bad overdrive distortion on the right channel until I unplug the speakers from my sound card and plug them back in. I've done this on two separate sound cards (Sound Blaster Z and my Motherboard's on-board VIA HD Audio), so I know the sound card is not the issue. Also, it doesn't seem to be only the headphones jack that does this; I've also had this problem when using the front side Aux input. I hate these things and want a refund/replacement.

Other Thoughts: Use optical audio if you have the choice. I had TOSLINK going to my Denon, but I moved my Denon into my living room and needed new speakers. I was looking for optical stereo speakers but couldn't find any, so I went with these. Now I regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Computer Speakers I've Ever Owned

Pros: I knew I'd fall in love with these speakers the second I go them out of the box. They were bigger than I expected and the power adapter looks very much like a laptop's. So, no wall wort and really good sound.

Setup was what you'd expect. Speakers sound great. Overall, super happy with my purchase

Cons: If I were to quibble with it, it'd be that they we're somewhat expensive and are a bit too tall. I have them behind my monitors that are on an arm and and about 4 inches of them are covered by the monitors. Not a huge issue and didn't impact sound at all.
