5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

Pros: This was EXACTLY what I needed to fit in my Mini-ITX HTPC case. It is not loud, it cools well, and everything now fits in the case. I have it mounted on an AMD Sempron-140 CPU using the original backplate (this comes with a metal one but I didn't need it, it is very sturdy and tight on top of the CPU).

Cons: If the fan were ever to die, the whole thing would need to be replaced instead of just swapping on another fan like the box-type. Not really a con, as many CPU types don't use the box fans on their high end coolers.

Other Thoughts: Do not use this for high-power, overclocked CPUs. It was designed to fit into small cases and that's about it. If you have the room, you are much better off with a larger cooler with copper heatpipes and bigger fans - especially if you have anything above 65W TDP CPU (it even says in the details that this is designed for low power processors).

3 out of 5 eggsMore value, less power

Pros: Low profile, fits in small cases. Cheap. Easy to install.

Cons: Will not effectively heat high end CPUs, especially if overclocking. Actually keeps my CPU LESS cool than my stock CPU fan.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good, but not so silent at full speed

Pros: Much better than the included heatsink / fan that comes with the Jetway NC-81LF mITX motherboard. That HSF couldn't keep an Athlon x2 4850e below the shutdown temperature (70°C) when the processor is running full tilt. This one can, and there's plenty of clearance between this HSF and the power supply in a Rosewill RS-MI-01 case.

Cons: It's not exactly silent when the processor is maxed out. Slightly high-pitched sound that can be annoying in a quiet room, or emanating from the HTPC.

Other Thoughts: It's one of the few low profile heatsink / fans that fit a NC-81LF motherboard. (The Silverstone NT-07 would need some dremel work to shave off one of the sides)

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

Pros: perfect for my mcpc, clears under my blu-ray with lots of room to spare.

easy install. (other than having to pull my motherboard out of the case)

running on a 95 quad core (under clocked slightly) runs 40C idle and <50 at full clock.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Did exactly what i WANTED-
quiet, low profile cpu cooler

4 out of 5 eggssuper quiet and cool

Pros: Lower height easy fit for slim cases.
Super quiet.
Keeps system cool.
Substantial and excellent quality.

Cons: For tight cases be careful working in proximity of heat sink as the fins are sharp enough to cut skin.

Other Thoughts: HTPC System build:
Antec Aria Case
Foxconn A88GMV Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X2 3.2 GHz
Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 CT2KIT51264BA1339
HDD- 2 x Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5 TB
Hauppauge PCI WinTV-HVR-1600 ATSC TV Tuner

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low profile; nice looking; quiet; effective cooling; simple but robust mount.

Cons: Long cable - has to be wrapped up somehow.

Other Thoughts: Inaudible at idle, noticeable but not objectionable at full power. In 75F environment, kept a Phenom II X4 910e down to 48C with all four processors at 100% under mprime, not sure how well it'd do on a higher-powered CPU. Much nicer looking than factory cooler IMHO, but I can't compare performance between the two, I never installed mine. Fan is offset from center of heatsink, I mounted it towards the chipset to give its heatsink a bit more air.

1 out of 5 eggsAre you all deaf ???

Pros: easy installation

Cons: LOUD WHINING FRANTIC PITCH that you can hear throughout the entire house. Varies from whining to screaming depending on CPU load.
To those who say "you can barely hear this", you need your ears tested.
This thing reads 48 dbA at 12" distance.

5 out of 5 eggssuperb

Pros: dead silent
removed heat effectively as long as cpu isn't a high power model

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have a media case in a bedroom and can't tolerate any noise. It is diskless, has no case fan but has vents directly above the motherboard (a silverstone low profile). Case only permits 1U sever fans.

During normal operation I can't hear it unless I bring my ear to within 4" of it.
After running a cpuburn-in program to bring cpu usage to 100% and run the cpu at full power, the fan ran at 1800rpm and was still extremely quiet, only audible at 9" or less.

Ignore the fools who complained that it was a loud fan. If you have half a brain, you know to enable cpu throttling, bios fan control, and to use a CPU whose power rating is within specs for this fan (65W or less). This is not a fan for gamers, obviously. It's application is HTPC and for that it is simply superb.
