Designed for advanced users GELID Silent PWM fans provide additional airflow by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to automatically adjust fan speed according to the CPU load. The fan can be idled down and thus be much quieter. An intelligent IC had been integrated into the fan’s PCB to exploit your mainboard’s BIOS software. This technology is more efficient and convenient than using an external fan controller to adjust the voltage.

Each fan impeller has been individually balanced using the latest technology to guarantee steady, unwavering operation. To add to the silence fan mounts replace traditional screws and are made of high quality, temperature resistant, extra long lasting rubber and stop vibrations from the fan motor from traveling into your PC case.

  • newegg Intelligent GELID PWM Control PWM (Pulse-width modulation) uses a digital signal to calculate and adjust to the appropriate cooling performance according to CPU and System temperature, without generating any heat during operation. Fan controlled by intelligent GELID PWM is more efficient than the traditional PWM fans.
  • newegg High Performance With the optimized fan blades, the GELID Solutions FN-PX12-15 120mm case fan delivers airflow of up to 58 CFM and high static pressure for impressive heat dissipation.
  • newegg Rubber Fan Mounts Included rubber mounts have been designed specifically to deal with fan-induced vibrations and are an ideal alternative to standard fan screws, leaving vibrations 100% decoupled from your PC case, ideal for building a very quiet or virtually silent PC.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great and stays quiet

Pros: Title says it all. The fan moves the air around just fine and is whisper-quiet. My motherboard recognizes the RPMs and speed control, and all works well.

Cons: None, really. Two months of solid use and I like it a lot.

Other Thoughts: I had expected to use metal screws to mount the fan, and so I was surprised when the kit came with rubber pull-through mounts, which I'd never encountered before. They work like a charm, though - so this may be a feature I'll seek out in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsLiterally THE quietest fan I've ever purchased

Pros: Connected to motherboard 3-pin fan header, this fan you can barely hear over your ambient room noise. It's so quiet that when I put the case cover on, and put my PC on the floor, I couldn't really hear it at all.

Has nice solid feel; white fan blade "look" and rubber mounts that pull thru the fan and out the outside of your case: further absorbing noise and damping vibration.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: I will look for this brand and model fan again. I will buy it again when I need quietness. Also seems to move air well enough in a midrange-powered PC build.

5 out of 5 eggsA year later, not a single problem

Pros: I purchased this in the beginning of 2014, and here it is Feb 2015 and I have never had a single problem with it. It's worked great and with routine cleaning I've kept it in tip-top shape. Would definitely buy another one if i needed. I didn't trust this fan at first, because I've never purchased anything from this manufacturer. I got a year out of it so I'm happy. And that was a year of heavy use on a production machine. It's very quiet too.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this fan, need other GELIDs

Pros: Silent
Fits on my hyper 212 plus

Cons: Rubber mounts need needle nose pliers it seems like to pull them through. Felt like I almost broke my plastic fan mount bracket for the hyper 212 to pull them through.
The should def switch to the longer/thinner rubber screws that other fans use.

Other Thoughts: OC my cpu from 2.66GHz to 3.85Ghz still cant hear this fan

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent general cooling fan

Pros: Excellent quality
Pleasing deep. low-pitch hum at high speed
Standard 4-pin connector; no adapters, no extra wires.
braided sheath cable
Rubber mounts

Cons: Price
Lower CFM than many 120MM
All-plastic construction

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent general cooler for medium to large cases. It has lower CFM than most 120MM fans, but it is extremely quiet even at full speed, and it doesn't vibrate or emit a high-pitch whine like many cheap fans do. Overall its worth the price, but if you are building a small ITX case or need more airflaw, the Delta ACF1212 is the way to go and the only fan I'd recommend over this one.

However, it is louder than the Delta ACF1212, which is about the same sound pressure at 40% as the Gelid FN-PC12-15 at 100%. The Gelid actually pushes more air than the Delta at 40% as well. But the Delta has greater overall cooling capabilities and is the only fan with superior construction to the Gelid.

Avoid Coolermaster, Corsair, Arctic Cooling, Deepcool/Rosewill and most other fans with gimmicky blades, designs and wiring. Gelid keeps cooling traditional in the footsteps of Delta with a quality motor and a properly engineered conventional, balanced blade design.

4 out of 5 eggsNot that bad

Pros: Relatively inexpensive
Nearly silent
Cord is contained nicely in a sleeve type of thing.
Flow direction indicator
Adds some decent air flow into my box

Cons: Not a heavy weight, powerhouse fan. I have a 965be Phenom II X4 and the CPU fan is still working relatively hard in there (I'm using this fan as an intake). Not as much of a con as I thought, but the rubber grommet thingys used to attach this fan to your case, while different, were not as hard as some other reviews may suggest.

Other Thoughts: The rubber things:
Just have something to grab onto these things other than your fingers, I used a needle nose pliers. My hands run hot so they sweat a little. This helped me to somewhat lube and warm up the rubber a little before I tried to force these pieces through the holes. At first I thought, what did I get myself into here. But after I was done it just wasn't that bad.

So just plan out what direction you want your air flow to go, how you want this fan mounted (I had to travel a bit to the mobo fan plugin, there is a good amount of cord on this fan though), get the rubber into the fan first, then attach to your case. I removed the side of the case I was mounting on, seems like a no brainer but...

Once I had a plan going, I went to the manufacturer website. Although their directions are very brief, the few pics I did see helped kick start me a little faster. I found the pics in the FAQ section.

After that, I put the rubber into the fan first, grabbed the inside part and pulled with the pliers. Repeat for case mounting. You do have to pull pretty hard, but it goes. I was surprised it didn't snap. All of the sudden you get that moment of enlightenment and poof! Done deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans!

Pros: Seem to be made fairly well, and push quite a bit of air. They pull more air than the bitfenix spectre, and spectre pros I had before, and are quieter. The price is extremely reasonable as well. At lower RPM's which from water cooling is what I'm at almost all the time, these fans are completely silent, no noise at all. When at a higher RPM these fans are not loud by any means, however they do emit a deep hum.

Cons: There is only one problem, and it's not with the fan. The rubber mountings are the only mounting mechanism provided, so when attaching to case, unless using long screws used to mount to a radiator or to the front of the case or something, you have to use these rubber mounting things that are short, hard to hold onto, and even a wrench wont pull them through (didn't have pliers during installation). They work extremely well after installed, but Gelid, please, fix this awful mounting system, copy fractal design's, it's much much better (and even theirs isn't that great).

Other Thoughts: The deep hum explained in the pros is extremely acceptable. I've bought maybe 5 sets of fans (could've saved money by just buying some noctua's initially) trying to find best price to performance, each one has had some sort of issue, either airflow, or way to loud, or caused an annoying noise. The hum at high to max RPM's is deep enough and subtle enough to be acceptable, and most of the time I'm running low RPM's or most of them off, so it's completely silent which makes me happy.
