Designed for advanced users GELID Silent PWM fans provide additional airflow by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to automatically adjust fan speed according to the CPU load. The fan can be idled down and thus be much quieter. An intelligent IC had been integrated into the fan’s PCB to exploit your mainboard’s BIOS software. This technology is more efficient and convenient than using an external fan controller to adjust the voltage.

Each fan impeller has been individually balanced using the latest technology to guarantee steady, unwavering operation. To add to the silence fan mounts replace traditional screws and are made of high quality, temperature resistant, extra long lasting rubber and stop vibrations from the fan motor from traveling into your PC case.

  • newegg Intelligent GELID PWM Control PWM (Pulse-width modulation) uses a digital signal to calculate and adjust to the appropriate cooling performance according to CPU and System temperature, without generating any heat during operation. Fan controlled by intelligent GELID PWM is more efficient than the traditional PWM fans.
  • newegg High Performance With the optimized fan blades, the GELID Solutions FN-PX12-15 120mm case fan delivers airflow of up to 58 CFM and high static pressure for impressive heat dissipation.
  • newegg Rubber Fan Mounts Included rubber mounts have been designed specifically to deal with fan-induced vibrations and are an ideal alternative to standard fan screws, leaving vibrations 100% decoupled from your PC case, ideal for building a very quiet or virtually silent PC.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive for a PWM fan.

Quiet

Understated design

Cons: Concerns about its longevity?

Other Thoughts: Really impressed. Normally I buy fans in the $20-$30 range, but for $14 I feel like I got a lot of value. The fan seems really solidly made, the design isn't ostentatious (no garish LEDs or anything) and it seems to move a fair amount of air.

I'm a little concerned about people saying that they've had their die, though. I've only had mine for about a week now, so hopefully they'll continue to run well.

I'll definitely recommend these for people looking for a good fan at a low price.

3 out of 5 eggsGELID Solutions FN-PX12-15 120mm

Pros: Seems like a good fan, but I'm not too experienced in buying them. Seems reasonably quiet with a decent amount of air movement.

Cons: The rubber mounts that came with it were impossible to use. They fit on the fan fine, but the other side that goes on the case is bigger. Doesn't seem to make much sense to me. I eventually tried pulling it through with needle nose pliers until it ripped. I went to the gelid website and sent an email asking about this and got no response.

1 out of 5 eggsGrinding, Clicking Noise - JUNK!

Pros: Nothing spectacular

Cons: Very audible grinding/clicking noise in both fans at any speed. After dropping $30 on a pair of these, I am highly disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Can I RMA a fan? These things are terrible. I want my money back.

1 out of 5 eggsWish I bought a different fan

Pros: I bought a fan and they sent me a fan.

Cons: Took a long while to put the fan in the tower because of all of the rubber pins or whatever they are called. Was happy with the fan at first but only after a few months it started making noises. I am very disappointed that the fan is already noisy. I have to poke it to make the noise stop.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooling

Pros: Quiet Fans. I am running two of these fans in my Cooler Master HAF-XB case that had some very loud stock fans. After doing some research I discovered these fans on YouTube in one of Kyle's builds. The rubber mounts were slightly confusing at first but they really make a difference.

My system was already pretty cool but adding these two fans it dropped from a nice 26 degrees C, to 22 degrees at idle!! The static pressure and efficiency of these fans make a difference.

My system is so quiet now, that I have to check and make sure it is running. Normally I couldn't hear myself over the fans!!

Cons: They don't have a 200mm fan to replace my Cooler Master one with!

Other Thoughts: I plan on making a tutorial video of how to install the rubber mounts, because one currently doesn't exist. It isn't hard but it will save people some time.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good!

Pros: - The fans are well made. Sturdy and spin with ease. Covered wire so no fear of scratching it.
- They are really quiet at low RPMs. Even at max they are more quiet than most fans.
- Deliver great amount of airflow.
- The PWN function is nice, they work silently when idling and spin faster when your CPU gets hot.
- Cheaper than other 120 mm fans that offer these functions.

Cons: - The rubber mounting is really confusing to install. I honestly didn't like it all. Had to use some spare screws to keep it in.
-No quick guide on how to install it or even use those rubber things... What a shame, I actually thought they can be nice.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these to try and connect them together - too bad I forgot I have only 1 FAN plug on my MB. I have no idea how to daisy chain them, so had to leave one unused (4 fans is plenty enough, although the other 3 suck)

5 out of 5 eggsHas air direction arrows

Pros: Finally a fan manufacturer has placed air direction arrows on the fan.
Quiet, moves air

Cons: I couldn't use the rubber mounts that came with the fan, because of space considerations. I had to dig out some other screws from my boxes full of screws.

Other Thoughts: I've installed about 6 or 8 Gelid fans with the rubber connectors (Inplace of metal screws) I'm sure that the rubber connectors quiet things down. But I always beat my head against the wall for a minute while I figure out how which end to pull on.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job

Pros: The fans are easy to install and work. Noise is quite low.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is that the fans use the rubber inserts to hold them in the case with tension. This likely helps with vibration; however, it does ruin the nice clean lines at the top of the case (or wherever you install them).

5 out of 5 eggsSilent 12, Nice Rubber Mounts

Pros: Nice Fan. Smooth and Quiet, virtually Silent.. PWM control work fine with ASUS Sabertooth MoBo. The Gelid rubber mounts work very nicely. They are easily installed in 2 directions.

Cons: Slightly less airflow than some 120mm fans, with a top speed of just over 1000 rpm it puts out 63CFM. But that is why it is really quiet.

Other Thoughts: I actually bought 3 fans. The Cougar fan and the rubber mounts are impossible to install in some places. I used an Arctic F12pwm , 74CFM at 1350 rpm, in the back and stole the nice Gelid rubber mounts.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was after

Pros: Very quiet with PWM control to increase RPM if needed.

Huge improvement over the COUGAR CF-V12HPB that I made the mistake of purchasing.

Cons: Screws are not included and are difficult to use for the 1st time if that is how you want to mount these. The plastic frame is tough and using self tapping fan screws for the first time requires considerable torque. Cam out is pretty much unavoidable.

I sacrificed a fan screw to tap all the screw holes by getting it started and then using pliers with teeth to bite into the screw head. The increased leverage from the pliers made the tapping process possible. It was pretty easy to use a screwdriver once the hole threading was complete.

Other Thoughts: This fan is operating at 685 RPM (0.75PWM manual setting in BIOS) in my HTPC and is extremely quiet. It is alongside another GELID 120mm 3pin fan that is temperature controlled and spinning at 448 RPM. My under clocked Core i3 2100T (35W TDP) with no video card does not require significant airflow to keep the system cool so my goal was silence. This fan is perfect since it is quiet but also will increase airflow if temperatures rise.
