XIGMATEK HDT-SD964 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler rev.w with bracket ACK-i5361 I7 i5 775 1155 and AMD compatible

Pros: Compared to stock Cooler of my Phenom II X4 955 BE, it dropped CPU temp over 5 Deg Celsius at idle and over 10 at full load (using IntelBurn Test V2). More compact than the 120mm systems, but cools just as good, even better than some.

Cons: I didn't get the standard AMD clip for attachment. Haven't contacted Newegg yet about it.

Other Thoughts: I installed using the Intel clip (as the instructions called it). That worked out better, all though more difficult. Installing that way the fan blew toward the back and right at my exhaust fan. If you use the AMD clip it will need to point up or down.

I had to modify the clip so that it wouldn't hit a motherboard component. That has a lot to do with my MB, it is small. The clip is made of very hard metal and was hard to cut off part of the end, I had the tools to do it though.

Pros: kooler works good keeping my temp at 40c idle 50c at gaming

Cons: need to pull mobo to install on amd thumb screws are tough and know i didn't read the direction didn't need to figured it out in 5 min {{{i like how the direction show a tool 4 the thumb screw u don`t get }}

Pros: Reduced idle temps by 30C compared to stock AMD Cooler, very quiet, not that expensive.

Will reliably keep any wattage CPU cool under constant load. This isn't my first xigmatek cooler, and all of them have been good quality coolers.

There's really no reason to buy a more expensive cooler, this one will do just fine for just about everyone.

Cons: Shipped without the AMD mounting clip. (They sent it to me completely free though)

The directions aren't very good. I was still able to figure it out, but mostly by intuition.

Other Thoughts: I contacted customer service via email, they never acknowledged my message, but the clip showed up in my mailbox within a week. Spooky.

For those of you who have a hard time with the instructions, the aluminum fins go in the slits in the rubber spacers. The pointy end of the rubber spacer goes in the fan's screw hole.

Cooling a 140W Phenom II, the idle temps were 63C with a stock cooler and about 34C. Under load, the stock cooler was reaching 100+ until the slowdown threashold, but this cooler kept the temps at about 50C. I was using arctic silver both times.

I would really recommend using any cooler in conjunction with arctic silver. It's a really good thermal paste, and buying one tube will last you many builds. It helps the heat move out of the chip into the heatsink at a higher rate.

Pros: It does a good job of cooling stuff off, it's nice and quiet too.

Cons: Was missing the AMD mounting clip, so i used a different heatsink. Have used this one before with good results.

Other Thoughts: I'm hassling xigmatek to get the clip, we'll see what happens.

Pros: * keeps my C2D cool
* awesome fan attachments

Cons: * left/right sides don't allow airflow
* terrible LGA 775 mounting system
* doesn't come with a backplate

Pros: With a low ambient room temperature, this cooler stays quiet and effective. We shall see this summer!

If you have loads of time to spare, assembling this heatsink & fan is fun; kind of like a puzzle!

Cons: Assembly and installation of this heatsink and fan took way longer than it should. Documentation is was poorly written and mislabeled (hint: use the Intel 775 bracket for AMD)- okay documentation was pretty useless.

Other Thoughts: Expect to spend around 66% of your computer build time on this heatsink & fan.

Pros: Great cooler for the price.

Mine included the AMD brackets (as well as intel) which let me mount it so it exhausts out the rear (shipped from the Edison NJ warehouse).

Keeps my unlocked to x4 555BE (oc'd to 3.7) at ~45C under full load in a ~70F room.

Cons: Not really a con but the amd brackets are some kind of plastic. They actually seem pretty tough just don't over tighten the thumb screws. Use your fingers not a screw driver. When they get snug you're good don't crank them all the way down.

Other Thoughts: Fan can be a little loud at full blast. Not bad. But if you properly set the smart fan power management in the bios it shouldn't even hit 2800rpm unless you're really pushing the cpu. It's pretty quiet otherwise.

Fan clears my standard size DDR3 no problem on a Biostar A880G+. If you have one of those big heat sinks coming over the top of your ram you might have a problem with the first slot depending on your board.

Make sure to do some measuring around your board and case to make sure it will fit. The specks hear are accurate.

Also make sure you tint the heatsink and cpu. After that I applied a thin coat over the whole base instead of the "center dot" as I didn't trust my Arctic Silver (didn't use stock past) to spread evenly over the heatpipes. Very happy with my purchase.

Pros: -Good Price for decent performance
-compact heatsink for smaller cases
-ability to add 2nd fan helps alot

Cons: -rather tedious to install but I didnt mind

Other Thoughts: I am using the cooler for a q6600 @3.00 GHZ to install on the LGA 775 the motherboard had to be completely removed. I didnt have a problem with the clips just take your time and analyze how they arer installed.

in about 70 deg ambient I get idle temps with 2 fans around 35-38 and load never more than 50

Pros: quiet (on my set-up at least)
smaller than the 120's
fairly straight forward to install

Cons: I had to modify the mounting bracket to fit by some capacitors on the motherboard

Other Thoughts: for little money i dropped 10-12 degrees C on prime95 for 24h and about 6-8 degrees C for idle...i have the amd 965 with simple oc to 3.6 and i run between 42-45 degrees C after 24h torture test with prime 95....my first aftermarket heatsink and what a difference, a big difference over stock (especially when under 100% load).....would recommend to anyone

Cons: I learned of something that folks may want to look out for. I've had this thing for about 3 weeks and today I removed the stock fan. My intention was to install a lower spinning fan to bring down the noise at full tilt a little. Much to my suprise , the heatsink was clogged with dust. It was still cooling , but clogged non the less. After a stab at it with a brush , it cleaned right up. I have now installed filters on all of my vents. The reason I am writing this is to warn folks. Another 2 weeks and this thing could have stopped cooling and burned up my CPU. Maybe it's just that I live on a dirt road and have pets. Needless to say , I will be pulling the fan once a month to check it. Just something to keep in mind. By the way , the fan was very easy to pull while it was in the chassis. Took all of 5 minutes.

Other Thoughts: I would still buy this cooler again. I'm not sure if other coolers clog up like this one. Who knows.
