Thermaltake continues to bring innovative solutions to CPU cooling challenges. The CLP0564 overclocking-ready and six-core ready CPU cooler combines multiple features for optimal cooling of high-powered CPUs. The copper base rests directly against the chip to draw away damaging heat. Five seamlessly embedded heatpipes penetrate the cooling fin array above for optimal heat transfer and dissipation. Dual fans, one on each side, move large amount of cooling air over the convection fins at quiet noise level, and a fan control knob allows you to adjust the fan speed to reach a perfect balance between performance and noise.

Compatible with Intel CPUs using LGA 1156 / 1366 / 775 socket and AMD CPUs in Socket AM2+ / AM2 / AM3 packaging, this versatile Thermaltake model was designed to work with just about every modern desktop CPU. For ultra-cool protection and forward-thinking style, the Thermaltake Frio blows away the competition.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The copper base and five 8mm copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density convection fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 120mm fans to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Adjustable Fan Speed The Thermaltake CLP0564 features a VR fan controller so you can fine tune the fan speeds for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.
  • newegg Excellent Compatibility The Thermaltake CLP0564 features broad compatibility with AMD Socket AM2+ / AM2 / AM3 and Intel LGA 1156 / 1366 / 775 platforms, providing an all-in-one cooling solution for your PC system.

2 out of 5 eggsFunctional but too large

Pros: I have an i7 4770k overclocked to 4 GHz, and it never gets above 50 degrees Celsius. It does its job. That's the only reason I gave this more than 1 egg.

Cons: WAY TOO LARGE.
On my Z87 GD65 Gaming Mobo, I can only use the DIMM3 and DIMM4 Ram slots. This means that I can't take advantage of dual channel memory by having my sticks in DIMM2 and DIMM4. Also, forget about using 4 sticks of RAM; there isn't enough room for them. As a result of all this, this cooler is basically unusable because who is going to go the extra mile to OC their CPU and buy this cooler but is okay with not using dual channel memory? The answer: basically nobody.

Other Thoughts: If by some miracle, your Mobo and RAM slots have the space requirements needed for this big of a cooler then by all means get it. It does its job well enough.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent cooler

Pros: -Very quiet at low speeds.
-If you run extreme loads on your processor and don't mind a little extra noise, you can easily turn up the speed for massive air flow.
-Easy to install! Even in my mid tower there is plenty of room for this cooler.

Cons: None after a year.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: This was my first Frio Fan for an Octo Core AMD. It really is a Fantastic product! Keeps my system from ever thermal throttling even at max load.

Cons: Not really a con but it can be in some setups, luckily my 32 gigs of team memory fit just under the bottom of the fan.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooling

Pros: Initially, first 3 months, kept my CPU at a nice ~7*C, after a few more months and the dust started collecting a bit it still kept my CPU temp down at a nice ~14*C and that's with moderate fan settings! Excellent fan setup.

Cons: A bit tight if your RAM sits high as one of the fans will extend over them, unless you have banks on both sides then it obviously extend over both sides but it sits high enough to comfortably sit over them with out causing problems.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling, but very loud

Pros: Cooled a hot i7 920 (d0) from stock 2.67ghz @ 50-60c idle to a whopping OC 3.9ghz @ 40c idle.

Cons: You have to manually crank up the fans with the attached controller. And when you do crank up the fans, this thing is VERY LOUD.

Other Thoughts: Why do they even ship processors with those awful heatsink and fans?

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: On full load with A10-6800K CPU temp is 37C (with fan controller) its a little tall but but oh well, some cases might have a problem since the heat sink has little spikes on top, was pushing the limit on my case but I am using a 4U case since running lots of rackmount equipment. over very nice and gets the job done!

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Product

Pros: I love this cooler
In my system I have FX 8320 clock at 4.4 Ghz with one fan pull configuration running low speed 12C idle 39C max under load, held steady after 15 minutes of Prime95 with all 8 core running.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsOk product, missing item, no customer support

Pros: The fan can be cranked up to go really fast. Cools ok even with one fan (see cons and comments)

Cons: 1. Fan speed knob can only be accessed if you open up the case. So it is adjustable only if you are willing to pop the hood every time you do it.
2. Loud. By loud it sounds like a f-21 passing by when you put it at its max.
3. Was missing parts (2nd fan and connector).
4. Been a month since RMA and no response from support what so ever

Other Thoughts: Even with one fan it has fairly good cooling. However, customer support fails at responding. Contacted them 3 times, nothing but the automated response for RMA request

4 out of 5 eggsReally good

Pros: It works really well in my Corsair C70 case with just two fans other than the CPU cooler ones.
The stock fans are great, quiet, keep my 4770K between 32/36C idling. Goes up to about 45/49 while gaming. I've never seen it go above 50 so far.

Cons: It will block one of your ram slot on an MSI Z87-G45.
I read the previous reviews so I was aware this could've happened. Also I don't think this can be helped by running low profile ram because the actual cooler is a bit low.
I do feel a bit of vibration coming from it but nothing alarming in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Besides the fact that it will most likely take over one of your ram slot, it's also a huge cooler. On my Corsair C70 case, it fits just right but it left me just 1/4" between its top and the lexan of my case.
Overall I am really pleased with the performance of this cooler with my setup.
MSI Z87-G45 mobo
i7-4770K CPU
8GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 Ram
Gigabyte GTX-770 4GB GPU
XFX 650W XXX Edition PSU
Corsair C70 case

All good!
