Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for an Athlon II X4 620

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: My Athlon II X4 620 always ran really hot with the stock cooler. I mean like 70C under full load. There was no room for overclocking. I'm still testing what I can do with this T4 cooler, but it looks great so far. With a 20% overclock at stock voltage, the CPU is hovering around 45C while running linpack.
An interesting feature I didn't expect is that it comes with a second mounting bracket so you can attach a second fan. I don't plan on doing that, but it might appeal to the more extreme overclockers.

Cons: Nothing. It's a good cooler for $30.

Other Thoughts: It's a lot lighter than it looks. The aluminum is very thin.

4 out of 5 eggsDisappointing, lousy compared to the Hyper 212

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Better than stock cooler
Quiet
Easy to mount (AMD, no backplate to deal with)
fan uses a rifle bearing so it is safe for horizontal use
inexpensive after rebate ~$15 in this case
Clears normal height ram in N/S orientation

Cons: Just barley handles a measly 300MHz OC on a Phenom II 965 (vcore = 1.3250)
58-59C during prime

A hyper 212 evo can handle 4.2GHZ on this chip with a vcore of 1.4125 with the same or better temps, but that requires a wind tunnel for a case

With a AMD socket you can ONLY mount it in the N/S orientation, definitely not optional for the budget 90s case i am using

thermal paste is in a cheap tear open bag, not a nice easy to apply tube

Intel backplate is plastic

Other Thoughts: Got this for a budget AMD system for a very mild 300Mhz OC
was hoping it to be able to handle 4Ghz, but it struggles at 3.7

this thing is closer to a Hyper TX3 than a Hyper 212

the fan is rated for 600-1800 RPMs, more like 400-1500
i had to set the fan to performance mode on the motherboard to get it to not complain about low rpms

Would i recommend this to anyone?
Only if you want silence at stock clock speeds (may as well get a Hyper TX3 for this situation)
I would never recommend this for overclocking, it sucks at it (unless CM provides lousy paste with this and the TX3/212 have better stuff)

I have used a Hyper TX3, Hyper 212 Evo, and a NH-D14 before this cooler

*My hyper 212 evo use was in a case with far superior airflow (rosewill challenger)
*All test used same mobo/cpu

-1 egg for orientation limitation with amd
-1 egg for being a pathetic OC cooler

5 out of 5 eggsHyper T4

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Dropped temps 8c on an xeon 1241v3 @ 3.5ghz

Looks pretty decent, comes with mounting hardware for a second fan. Decently thin, doesn't interrupt my ram at all, and they have decent sized heat shrouds.

CHEAP! EFFECTIVE!

If you have a processor that is locked, and will not overclock this is perfect for you. It could even handle some light overclocking. I think it is the perfect cooler for any processor that wont be above 4GHz.

Cons: None, just take your time to make sure you have each of the mounting brackets facing the right way, and that you've got the lever on the right side. The details matter on install.

4 out of 5 eggsgood cooler!! with some clearance issues

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools well, fits inside my atx mid tower, fan is quieter than my case fans, definite improvement over the stock AMD cooler I was using

Cons: if you are using RAM with a large attached heatsink i.e. corsair vengeance (I removed it from mine) you will have to remove it or change to another lower profile type memory

Other Thoughts: great price for a four tube heatsink love that you can use the stock attaching bar for AMD FM processors

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, good cooling

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Much quieter than my stock CPU fan. Cools much better too! With an Intel motherboard/CPU (with mounts that are in a square pattern), you can mount it so that it blows the air vertical (up, down) or horizontal (front or back). Though I had to rethink my approach, I'm happy with how things turned out.

Cons: Most people would probably want to blow the air out the back of their case, but you can't necessarily do that with an AMD setup, at least not with my AM3+ socket. With an AMD motherboard/CPU (with mounts that are in a rectangle pattern), you can only choose from two directions. With my AMD FX-8350 and Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard, my options were up or down. Pointed up, which is what I chose, it blows directly against my Power Supply. But my Power Supply has a large exhaust fan there, so it takes the CPU air and pushes it out the back. So it worked out. Also, I had a case fan blowing cool air in from the center of the side panel, but this cooler is so large, it got in the way. I removed the fan and just left the hole. Still, it works well and cools the system sufficiently. Also, my box contained no instructions at all.

It's large, but fits in my full size tower

Other Thoughts: This thing is massive and you may have to rethink your strategy depending on your case design and your motherboard. But well worth the low price, especially after rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsLight and easy to install

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Good cooler - easy to install

Cons: The mounting bracket is a little light - so U may want to remove the cooler if you are moving the computer in a car or shipping it - could come off if bumped a little too hard

5 out of 5 eggsGood cooler with easy installation

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Quite fan.

Easy to install – well, for me anyway. Using it with an AM3+ processor and it just clamps on using the same brackets that came with the board. No need to take them off and install a new bracket.

Keeps the CPU cool. I ran Prime 95 for about 15 minutes and the temperature on the FX-8320 only got to 59C. I guess that’s good.

Cons: Uses the same mounting brackets that comes with the board. I know I listed that as a pro, but I have another computer that I have in it an older model Cooler Mater cooler that is almost identical. The only difference is the other one I had to remove the standard heat sink brackets and install a metal one. But with that setup the fan blows from the front of the case, through the heat sink, then to the back of the case where I have another fan blowing the hot air out. This new design has the fan blowing up right into the power supply. Probably not a big deal, but I like the other design a little better. Although this one was much easier to install.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my daughter’s computer because the stock heat sink and fan were a little loud. Upgrading to this made it nice and quiet. Definitely worth it. This should be a standard purchase with any new computer build.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Work way better than the stock AMD fan, which kept my a8-6600k at 80ish c on idle, 100+ while gaming. with this cooler, im at 37c idle, and under 50c full load. Note, I have a second fan.

Cons: Does not air condition my office, and doesnt shell out free $100 bills.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper T4 - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Huge improvement over my stock AMD fan, it used to be so loud and a tad bit hot running demanding games but now it's like a low, cold whisper. I love it!

A bit cheaper than an EVO and a tad bit smaller too!

No backplate installation needed for my AMD FX-6300 with ASUS R2.0 M5A97 MOBO.

Looks great!

You can mount a second 120mm fan.

Cons: Installation was a bit of a hassle, but thats my fault for keeping everything on the mobo still.

Covers two of my four ram slots no biggy but I guess I wont get the maximum speed from my ram.
