Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsPurchased on 01/18/2012 and still working like a boss

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This cooler has been in 2 different rigs, using nothing but Arctic Silver's Céramique 2 Tri-Linear Ceramic Thermal Compound. It started off cooling an Intell Core 2 Duo E6550 LGA 775 CPU and, currently, is cooling off an AMD Phenom II X4 945 Quad Core Socket AM3 CPU.

To sum up its performance, I can think of only two words which do it justice: Flawless Victory.

Cons: Before purchasing this beauty, you must make sure you have enough space to allow for proper cooling. This is a must for all heatsinks. However, please be advised that it is big, large, a beast. It is a hulk of a cooler and you won't like it when its mad. What infuriates it? Simple, being cramped, depriving it the room to do its job. If you are not sure whether you have the space, see my step-by-step guide below.

Other Thoughts: In order to judge whether or not you have adequate space for this modern marvel, perform this simple, non-convuluted test to see if you can handle it's epic enormity.

First, turn off and unplug the power to your PC.
Then, grab 2 bricks. That's right, 2 bricks.
Place them on top of each other, with the skinny sides facing you.
Now, tape them together. Don't question me, just do it.
Next, gain access to the inside of your PC case by any means necessary.
Now, identify your target: your current, pathetic CPU cooler. Now, turn the bricks perpendicular (also known as long-ways to "some")
Now, with precision and finesse, deftly maneuver the bricks so that they are next to the rubbish CPU heatsink.
If it cannot be done, scroll down and read line 2.
However, if you are able to do so, then continue reading.
Now, imagine the bricks are your CPU cooler, perched on top your CPU like a mama bird.
Is Mama Bird touching anything? PSU? The case? Fan(s)? ETC?
If not, read line 1.
If so, read line 2.

1. SUCCESS! HG has given the green light, unlocking the ability which allows you to purchase this legendary piece of equipment.

2. FAIL!: You must restart everything! You must do whatever it takes to be able to accommodate the mythical glory of it's physical presence.

NOTE: Please understand that this "test" is not really to be performed. It is my way of insanely illustrating the product's size and girth. If you perform this test, I wish you the best of luck.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't Beat the Price After MIR!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools very well, best price/performance air cooler availiable along with the 212 EVO. I can't say how much it dropped my temps on my i5-4670K since I didn't even bother putting on the wimpy looking stock cooler. It keeps it around 50-60C at load at stock speeds and gets up to 75C with an overclock to 4.2-4.3GHz.

Cons: It's not the best looking thing but it gets the job done.

Other Thoughts: This is the second one I've bought. I liked the first one so much I used it for my next build as well! I didn't even bother putting the stock Intel cooler on, and went straight for my Hyper 212+. It cools enough for my needs so I saved a few bucks by not getting the EVO.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Excellent cooling ability. Low noise. Easy install so long as you replace the backplate with the one provided.

Cons: Cannot fit a side panel cooling fan where the tower is. I can close the case.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a stock AMD fan on an FX 6300. From jet engine to whisper background noise.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome but BIG

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Efficient, quiet, does a great job cooling for a great price. Best one out there dollars to donuts imo. Well with the exception of the newer version, though I've not used it but am only assuming is better.

Cons: HUGE! Thing is massive, fits fine in my MID ATX case but it is FAT. I can't even use the 4th slot for RAM unless it's a slimmer stick, none of these newer ones with the cooling fins would fit, but few people would need/utilize the 3rd and 4th slots I'd assume. My MOBO is also a bit outdated, maybe the CPU/ram spacing has been better developed over the years.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely worth the money. If you have a higher end CPU, don't skimp on cooling it. The stock ones typically aren't near as good.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Item!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I had the stock cpu fan from AMD and it was noisy and not performant. I'm ashamed I didn't bought this CPU Fan sooner! It's really performant, don't make any noise even at full speed! Really great buy!

Cons: A little bit hard to install, I needed a tutorial to be sure.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cooling capacity, price to performance ratio

Cons: Size - difficult to manage with smaller cases. Check your dimensions carefully!

Other Thoughts: Overclocked a Core i5 2500k to a stable 4.5 GHz with a push / pull through the cooler and solid case fans. Case is an Antec 300.

5 out of 5 eggsHyper 212 Plus - Brilliant cooler, brilliant price.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: -Great price per performance
-Doesn't look that bad
-Super quiet
-Temps stay well below 50 at idle with Athlon X4 750K and A8-5600k

Cons: -Didn't generate money for free

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a 9.5/10 cooler, I would recommend it to a friend any day of the week. Except for Sunday, because I sleep in on Sundays, thus I can't talk to my friend to recommend it to them. If I could somehow talk to them about CPU coolers while sleeping, however...

4 out of 5 eggsRunning cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Has kept the processor running nice and cool and even helps with the overall air flow of the case.

Cons: Its not the prettiest thing in the world and beware of it cutting your fingers.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools efficiently, Nice appearance and Quiet.

Cons: Very big, sticks out of my case by a quarter inch, Not the easiest install, Won't allow for after market ram cooling due to size.

Other Thoughts: Took a little video watching to figure out the instructions, I've never installed a cooler like this before. Once I watched a tutorial, everything clicked and it was a breeze. The only down side is having to remove my GPU and MB to install it. I'd recommend purchasing along side a fresh build or when you change cases. This dropped my standard idle of 28 C ( I live in Georgia and have poor AC) to 19 C average.
