1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: Cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Cons: Antiquated operating system, worked for a short while after it arrived and then died.

Other Thoughts: I've tried fixing it several time now. The original rework and repair the unit received left a lot to desire. I even found sites where I could download firmware updates to get the unit back to life, but once it died it wants to stay dead. The uSD card I installed cost almost as much as the computer.

Pros: $30

Cons: WiFi is terrible and limited apps to address this.

Other Thoughts: Really this is a puzzle not a computer. Trying to find the pieces to make it work.

2 out of 5 eggsNOT PLEASED

Pros: Nice that so many apps are already loaded.

Cons: Worked with this item for 3 days just trying to get other apps loaded with no luck. Wireless connection will not stay open long enough for anything to download. Worse investment that I ever made and sent back. Not worth any amount of money.

4 out of 5 eggslg 730 Bluetooth

Pros: Very easy to manage, plays music nicely, good sound quality.

Cons: Constantly disconnects and reconnects when phone is within range.

Other Thoughts: If it didn't disconnect/ lose range so much this Bluetooth wouldn't have any issues/ problems with it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic machine for the price

Pros: Lightweight, dirt-cheap, sturdy, and in good condition. Great for web browsing and note-taking.

Cons: Lower end machine, Somewhat difficult to navigate

Other Thoughts: For reference, I paid $39.99 for this machine, so this review is written with that price point in mind. Also note that I've only had it for a day, so my opinions might change.

When I bought this netbook, I had 3 tasks in mind:

1.) Web browsing
This netbook comes pre-loaded with 2 web browsers: the stock Android Froyo browser, and another Chrome-like "My Browser" app. The first browser is already set up to load desktop versions of websites, and the screen can easily accommodate average-sized sites like facebook and google. The "My Browser" app supports tabbed browsing for extra convenience.

2.) Note-taking
I purchased this netbook with the idea of having it to take notes in class, rather than bringing my bulky laptop. I initially tried to load Google Drive/Docs to test note-taking, but had no luck (which may have been due to my connection). Then, I found a built in office software suite, Picsel Smart Office, which can be used to easily create a wide array of Microsoft Office compatible documents, and upload them directly to dropbox.

3.) Youtube browsing
I didn't expect the device to be able to play youtube, but I had hoped in the back of my mind that it would. I received the unit, and it came pre-loaded with the stock Youtube app, which runs great.

Addressing the complaints of other reviews:

Keyboard - The keyboard is indeed small, but not any more so than other netbooks. I found it easy to get used to.

Wifi - When I first took it out of the box, it seemed to have issues getting more than 1 bar of signal from my phone's hotspot, but now, as I'm writing this, the unit is getting full signal.

Power - The system is no super computer, but it a great little machine. I've even managed to run some emulators on it (NES, Genesis, Gameboy Advance) with relative success.

So, to reiterate: This machine is not a powerhouse, of course. It's one of the cheapest netbooks on the market. But for the price, it's fantastic. I would easily expect to have to pay $125+ for something like this ($200+ if it ran a desktop OS), and therefore, for the price, I give this netbook 5 stars.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Order arrived quickly and in excellent condition.

Cons: I wasn't expecting this to be some high tech superfast l33t gaming computer. I simply wanted something cheap to do some writing on and check my email now and then. Unfortunately, this device failed to do pretty much anything. The internet was hideously slow to the point that it brought back fond memories of old dial-up internet from nine million years ago. The user interface was horrible. Opening a tab or web page is an ordeal in and of itself unless you have an external mouse. Navigating the main menu is not too bad once you become accustomed to it, but even then it feels like a chore just to access anything. The keyboard is very very nearly unusable. It is impossible to type a single letter at a time, so you just have to sort of let your diety of choice take the keyboard if you plan on typing anything. The mouse touchpad is infuriating to use, and I say this after having and using a touchpad on my old netbook for years. The mouse tends to jiggle and randomly slip in different directions and it will click on things seemingly of it's own accord. I know this can be switched off but good luck finding where to do that.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't expecting much going off of the price, and yet I was still disappointed. I would have been more than happy with this purchase if it had been able to do just one thing at a mediocre level. I would have settled for it being a word processor. It's a hunk of plastic that can't decide if it's a calculator or a paperweight. Save your money folks, there are plenty of better options on this site.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for a child perhaps

Pros: I'm not sure. The battery seems to hold a charge. The external keyboard and mouse with usb hub worked straight off. My cell phone somewhat consistently shared an internet connection.

Cons: Keyboard is too small for an adult. This is a glorified CHEAP palm pilot with allot of frilly aps loaded. The wifi antenna is weak and could not even pick up my work wifi. I had to use cell phone minutes to share a connection. Web interactivity felt like dialup, and it failed to connect about 50% of the time. I bought it so that I could replace a bulkly laptop with an email device, and it fails to be useful even simply for email. This thing is at best a toy for a small child who might want a computer.

Other Thoughts: This failed to simply connect to the wifi and give me email. If it can't do that, what good is it as an Internet appliance. It isn't worth fifty bucks. My recommendation is to purchase a more expensive model because in this case, you aren't even getting what you paid for. I feel like I am stuck with a $50 paper weight. Perhaps, this will be helpful to someone when they are considering purchasing this as a productivity tool.
