4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: - Loaded I/O complete with USB 3 and HDMI
- 8GB Memory
- Battery life is decent, not the best out there but it's plenty for me
- Best bang for your buck in terms of ultrabooks

Cons: - Would have preferred a full 120GB SSD instead of 32GB SSD + 500GB 5400RPM HDD, since it has USB 3.0 external hard-drive would be plenty fast
- As previous poster mentioned, it can get pretty hot

Other Thoughts: Really it's the best you can get for the price if you want a balance between performance and compact. Quite happy with this laptop.

HP isn't exactly known for superb quality stuff, so I'm somewhat uneasy about whether it'll last me a good few years. Fingers crossed, hopefully the durability is there (another reason a 120GB SSD would have been appreciated)

4 out of 5 eggsExpected less heating

Pros: Fast boot up, light weight, stable.

Cons: The heating is more than I expect from a low consumption cpu. It is still uncomfortable to use it on the laps. I have seen other ultrabooks with nearly no heating at the bottom.

5 out of 5 eggsThin and Fast - Highly Recommended!

Pros: Fast shipment! I was genuinely surprised how fast it arrived. Ordered on Tuesday at noon, essentially arrived 24 hours later (I had to pick it up at the service location one extra day later due to my omission of my buzzer code - so remember to include this in your shipping address!).

Third generation i5 processer (3317U) is fast - I didn't have a dire need for an i7.

8GB of RAM on a laptop this size (and not to mention price) can't be beat!

Very thin and lightweight. Doesn't get much smaller than this for its processing power and price.

Ports are more than adequate if you do not need VGA (the one thing I can see as missing - wasn't too much of a factor for me though). Bluetooth is a neat add-on too.

Nice metallic finish. Aesthetics was the very least of my concerns when considering a laptop, but I have to say, the design of this laptop is really very sleek looking. I feel the metal even keeps things physically cool.

Backlit keyboard if you can't type in the dark.

Cons: Resolution. 1366x768 is the highest resolution option for this laptop. I would have preferred 1920x1080 or at least 1600x900. Of course, I knew this before buying the laptop but it's a con nonetheless. That said, for the price, it's hard to expect much more than this resolution.

Bilingual keyboard. The shortened left shift key is what seems to get most people annoyed - it wasn't too much of a hassle for me but I could see it as being a nuisance.
The French letters on some keys detract from the otherwise clean keyboard layout.

F1-F12 "Action Keys" enabled by default. These are the play/pause, brightness/volume up/down, etc. keys located as the function keys at the top of the keyboard. I use the F1-F12 keys for other functions more than I would use the Action Keys. Luckily there's an option in BIOS to easily disable it. This way if you need to access the Action Keys, you just hold the "fn" key located next to the left Ctrl button.

Other Thoughts: It's proven to be both powerful and lightweight enough to suit my needs.

I haven't had a chance to try out the "beats audio by Dr. Dre" enough to give a review on them, but I believe it's mostly just a marketing hype. I did, however, notice when listening to a few songs that it's much louder and clearer than what I had expected from laptop speakers - maybe this is all that beats audio is marketing. I'm not the biggest audiophile though so I probably shouldn't comment too much on this.

To summarize the above pros/cons:
Thin, light, fast, and plenty of RAM.
Low resolution, and bilingual keyboard.
