5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so.. Great!

Pros: Very Fast, even with the HDD. It plays CS: GO almost maxed out. Im sure if this thing didn't have as much bloatware then it would run it no problem. But I am extremely happy on how it operates. The web cam and mic are very keen. Speakers sound so crisp and clean(even has a little bass, not much but more than most) The dark brown is sexy. All in all, a great laptop.

Cons: A little bit heavy.. but its a powerhouse. I was expecting that. AC jack seems delicate.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a school laptop that can also run games, while skyping, and downloading, and burning a CD, and playing music... and and and... You should get this rig.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it (Mine was brand new though)

Pros: Got it brand new and paid almost 900 for it (almost 6 months ago) And have loved every minute of owning it!

Cons: Asus software that came on the PC (although I have never liked any companies pre installed software no matter the company)

Other Thoughts: For it's price you can't go wrong. After owning it for 5 minutes I installed Windows 7 Pro and Ubuntu hense removing all the shtuff these laptops normally come with. And because I am a pro I do not need a recovery partition... that's what USB's are for :) I recommend this laptop to everyone I know and seeing it here refurbished for 699 you can't go wrong :)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price

Pros: Best bang for the price, GTX 540, Sandy Bridge i7, 6 gigs of RAM, and an overall well made machine. I got this to replace my old ASUS F3sv that I cooked. Little bloatware was shipped on this, well compared to what was shipped on my old Laptop.

Cons: The refurb job was a little rushed it seemed. I wasn't pristine like a new machine (I wouldn't expect it to be), but when they cleaned it, they missed a couple of small things. Also, when I first got it, the Windows key wasn't genuine, but I just used the key on the sticker on the laptop and that got fixed. And the screen resolution leaves something to be desired. My old F3sv had a slightly higher resolution.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a laptop with a decent video card above all else, for under $1000. I got that and then some with this machine, just remember to always buy a Warranty with refurb products and you'll be protected and saving LOTS of money.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop, bad refurb.

Pros: Great hardware/specs, after some nightmares with fixing the "refurbish", runs like a champ.

Cons: Whoever did the refurb wipe did it in such a fashion that the System Restore Utility would run on every startup, even after trying to run it completely. Also, the Windows first-time-setup would run on reboot. According to the refurbishers, the laptop didn't have a recovery partition, so you had to use the Asus utility to make one. No big. Well I got fed up enough with the previous problems that I decided to do a clean install of Windows. I put in my disc and an ASUS recovery utility comes up, showing a recovery partition. When I recovered using this partition, the laptop got stuck in a boot loop, trying to set itself up. I had to completely reinstall Windows, and most of the drivers shown on ASUS's website would not work, either.

Other Thoughts: After a lot of work, this thing works wonders. Don't take the risk of having an inoperable machine unless you have the tech level to deal with it.
