1 out of 5 eggsSlow, Full of Bloatware

Pros: Perfect size. perfect sized keyboard. Good battery life.

Cons: Verrrry slow hard drive.
Bloatware. I think there were ? 3 ? applications wanting to store my data somewhere else rather than on my own computer.

Runs on the warm to hot side.

Asus had no pre-sales support on their products.

Other Thoughts: I still bought this because the 11.6 inch screen size. The keyboard is bigger than my 10.1 which was a constant source of frustration.

Before purchase I looked over the Asus website for info on this and a laptop. They don't have them listed or offer support on either. I received an email back from Asus stating since they don't sell products from their website, they don't offer support for them. ????

When I disabled indexing, it took around 40 minutes. I was able to finish up at church and drive home and it STILL wasn't finished.

Installing Office pro took around 20 minutes I think. I installed from a usb flash drive.

Just the worst hard drive I've ever experienced. I honestly thought it was defective and am still semi-paranoid about it.

Now I looked on newegg's site and noticed it's been discontinued. So don't I feel like a dope, I probably purchased the last one.

Do yourself a favor and be sure to check out other sources for a netbook.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the product you purchase.

The reason why there is so much bloatware is because of all the asus programs that are installed. You can always remove the bloatware that you rarely use and remove programs that start up automatically.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me at

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Portable, great hot key functions, great battery life, runs very smoothly, very affordable, great design, perfect for necessities (email, internet browsing, music, and school) overall a very solid durable product

Cons: Way too many ASUS utilities

Other Thoughts: I am an IT major in college and I would definitely recommend this to someone who travels a lot. It goes along my desktop very nicely. It's very portable, runs extremely well, and handles necessities perfectly. It came bloated with way too many ASUS utilities I wish they would give you the option to install them when you first boot up the computer but once uninstalled it runs much smoother. (I only kept the ASUS hot key utility) I've had it for a month now and so far no problems...knock on wood I hope windows 8 will run smoothly on it once it comes out.

2 out of 5 eggshost of stupid hardware interface problems

Pros: Boots up quickly, small, fast, cheap.

Cons: (1) I get blinking rows of pixels across the screen when I leave it on for more than an hour. Big annoyance.
(2) Left-click button doesn't register when I push the end of the button, even though it makes a clicking noise.
(3) Click-and-drag hardly ever works. The buttons have a continuous surface with the touchpad, which means it is difficult to use both the left-click button and the touchpad at the same time. I need to plug in a USB mouse every time I use the laptop, which makes portability awkward.

I know ASUS has a good reputation, and I don't know why. This laptop does not pan out.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with your netbook. If the unit is still under warranty that the best thing to do is send the unit back and get a replacement.

If your warranty is past the return policy have you tried updating the drivers for the mouse pad. Usually fixes those small bugs.

If you have any questions you can email me at and I'll be glad to help.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Amazing battery life, 2x USB 3.0, 4GB of ram 320gb HDD, Can play FULL 1080p movie's, just all around great!!!!!!

Cons: I was hopping to put a SSD in this but there is no HDD cover - meaning the laptop need to be taking apart to do this. Which will void abhorrently so it a no go :(

Other Thoughts: Reinstalled windows to remove all the bloat , this makes it sooooo much faster.
