Pros: Nice functional tablet for the cost

Cons: I dropped the tablet and the glass broke after 1 month of usage Everything else worked fine. I got RMA from ASUS and they wanted over 500$ to repair glass.!!!!..

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am very sorry for the bad experience you have had with the tablet. It is unfortunate that your tablet has a broken screen. I completely understand your frustration.

Although the estimated cost of the repair is expensive, you still have an option to have us repair the tablet. Please let me know if you would like to get the tablet repaired by emailing me at cl-mark@asus.com; and I will be happy to assist you further.

Best regards,

Mark

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very nice tablet, nice response time, enough space to store a lot of apps. I use mine as an organizer and its light enough for me to be able to bring it wherever I go. Very nice texture for carrying.

Cons: Only comes in one colour(brownish copper) that isn't really that appealing.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat at First

Pros: Solid build feel. Screen WAS nice and vibrant. I own a Xoom and bought this as Christmas present for my son. Setting it up and running it constantly to make sure the refurb was good. I didn't want my son to be disappointed on Christmas day! The disappointment didn't happen that day but just a week later! What a shame would have been a great product if not for the.....

read on....

Cons: It worked well and charged the first week after Christmas. And yes I ran the battery down and fully recharged it before this time. The following week my son brings me the tablet saying it won't charge. I plug it in and sure enough no charging. I do a little research which I should have done before buying and I find there are tons of issues on charging. I tried everything and even wasted money on another charger. No luck! The only saving grace was the iron egg guarantee. There is a break down somewhere in the refurb process that is unacceptable! My opinion of ASUS products was definitely lowered with this purchase.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased several ASUS products over the years. I have several motherboards and one that have been chugging along 24/7 for the past 7, yes SEVEN, years. What happened to your products ASUS?

5 out of 5 eggsShort & Sweet

Pros: I bought one of these a few months ago. I just purchased a second as a gift. No Problem whatsoever with the tablet. Price for refurbished is very good. For all appearances it looks new in the wrapper. From what I have been able to find, ASUS does not make a better tablet.

Cons: If you have finally figured out how your computer works, then get ready to start all over again. Android is very different from Windows or Mac. Maybe a bit more "common sense" or "think for you" oriented.

Other Thoughts: I researched before deciding on this model. Price was not as much a factor as quality in my decision.
If you are new to tablets, get this one. You will be glad you did.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy a refurbished product

Pros: Just a Tablet

Cons: Sound quality is bad.

Other Thoughts: For the first couple of days I was happy with it but then I noticed that there are some problems with the screen. Sometimes it is not responsive and when it is dim,you see a light leak from one of the sides.I used it for 2 weeks then it went dead because the port was not working anymore and I couldn't charge the battery.I returned it to Newegg and I'm waiting now for almost a month to receive the replacement. Be careful guys for whomever bought this Tab,keep the packaging because you will need it.I ended up paying for the return shipping twice and it costed me the price of a brand new non-refurbished product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize for the issues that you have had with your refurbished unit. I've had mixed luck when buying refurbished too, but sometimes, the price difference is too good to pass up. I'm sorry to see that your experience was not a good one. If your replacement unit runs into problems, remember that you do have a 90 day warranty on the refurbished item. If anything, please contact me directly or our customer support for help. I can be reached at cl-tien@asus.com. I'll be happy to assist you.

Best Regards,

Tien

4 out of 5 eggsStopped charging after 4 months

Pros: Ran everything I wanted great. Couldn't complain and absolutely loved it.

Cons: Just stopped charging today. I have it connected made sure power is going to the outlets the whole thing and it still says "connect your charger" Now it's to dead to even power on. Seems I have that issue others are experiencing but ~4 months of pleasant use.

Other Thoughts: Going to request an RMA this week. Unfortunately I used this to read all my ebooks for college and the new semester just started so I'm kind of out of 5 text books I desperately need for the time being(at least during class).

5 out of 5 eggsLove this tablet

Pros: Does all that is advertised, it comes with some nifty tools.
I haven't found an app to lag it yet! I love the ease of getting files onto these android tablets, just plug them in and your computer treats them like usb devices!

Also I upgraded it's memory with an additional 32 gigs via it's micro sd slot.

The screen is nice and hard, and is scratch resistant.

Cons: I had trouble getting flash to work on it correctly, but many streaming sites allow for a player (mx player or something like that) to do a direct stream from their sites. Additionally you can always just download apps like netflix to get the majority of your streaming needs.
I haven't mistreated this tablet so I can't attest to it's durability, but the screen doesn't scratch.

Other Thoughts: It's very nice to have a tablet that isn't slow when browsing the internet, previously I used an apple touch.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked until couple days after warranty expired

Pros: I completely loved it until it just stopped working.

Cons: A few days after the warranty expired the system just stopped responding to touches. The touch screen became completely useless. I have tried rebooting, refreshing, flashing with new firmware. Nothing has worked. Searching provides lists and lists of people with same problem without a proven solution.
