5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great card for the price and for a laptop and a number pad! Nice color and the keys are pretty cool. Everything runs nice, so far no freezing or random shut downs(as others experienced).

Cons: Battery life isn't remarkable but it's a laptop and it's meant to be charged, so not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with my purchase.

1 out of 5 eggssadness

Pros: looks nice, dedicated vram good price

Cons: the first week i got this thing it would turn off after about 5-15min of playing a game.after spending a bunch of time trouble shooting i sent it to asus. service was fine, it took about a week to get it back. then after a few days of using it the laptop shutoff and would come back on. very angry at this point i sent it back to asus. after about 4WEEKS!! i called them got angry n what not. the next day i got a call back and they sent me a different one, the K61IC-X1 which has been great.

Other Thoughts: this was a birthday gift for my wife which she didnt end of getting until 2 months after her birthday. go asus....

5 out of 5 eggsBest for price

Pros: Very good Value for price, runs borderlands on medium-high with no hiccups, and l4d on high.

Cons: It has an annoying habit of not registering a hardware signal if you're playing certain games, and so it falls asleep in the middle of a game.

Other Thoughts: could have had gddr3 in the video to boost FPS but, its still good

5 out of 5 eggsIt's an "Everything" laptop

Pros: - Good phone support
- I have gone from linux and back and back again and this is by far one of the easiest times I have ever had doing it with a laptop.
- Very sturdy, dropped it onto the floor from a table still works great.
- I bring it back and forth from school everyday and it does fine.
- Able to do allllll kinds of stuff on it at the same time.

Cons: - Asus has weird ways of getting your drivers.
- As the other guy says it's a fingerprint magnet.
- Average processor.

Other Thoughts: All around I love this thing because I have come close to messing it up some how and it comes out fine every single time and for a laptop I am very reassured.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Laptop

Pros: To the guy below me, ASUS has the best support. You obviously do not stick with the times.
Awesome laptop! Love the new touch pad. The web cam is good enough for a laptop. Dedicated graphics card that plays cod4, cod5, mw2, hon, wow, on settings medium and above = :DDD happy gamer. The "bloatware" is useful except for the asus secure files program. It doesn't hide, encrypt, or do anything to the file. You can easily search them. Overall I love this laptop.

Cons: Fingerprint magnet, but it looks niceeeee.

Other Thoughts: Very Happy =D

4 out of 5 eggsgreat notebook for the price

Pros: Excellent hardware for the price. 1 year accidental damage warranty / 2 year manufacturer's warranty / 30 day dead pixel warranty (try that with Apple!). Fired up perfect out-of-the-box. Great Windows 7 performance. Ubuntu 9.10 recognizes all hardware upon install.

Cons: Touchpad's keys require great effort to click. Touchpad is not as sensitive as it should be to drags and clicks. Speakers nowhere near loud enough.

Other Thoughts: An affordably-priced desktop replacement a fraction of the cost of a comparably-priced MacBook. Asus' warranty is a great reassurance after suffering the fallout of HP's so-called "Total Care" (or the lack thereof) with my Compaq F732NR (video / wi-fi problems).

1 out of 5 eggsNice hardware, useless software, poor service.

Pros: Big screen, large keyboard, good design.

Cons: WIndows 7 freezes constantly, to the point where I have to unplug and remove the battery. I can't even surf the web for 5 minutes without crashes. Tried contacting ASUS, no phone support only web based, 4 days 2 messages and no reply. Wish I had researched this earlier but apparently ASUS support is terrible. Unacceptable, this thing is getting returned and I will purchase an Acer or Lenovo instead.

2 out of 5 eggsBloatware is very bad

Pros: Fast video, large drive, good processor. 64-bit Windows 7. Nice screen!

Cons: All the included programs are an absolute nightmare. They crash windows, don't uninstall cleanly, and make themselves a royal pain. Why on earth do manufacturers do this to their customers? A plain old install of Windows would be far preferable and much simpler. Also, there was no key included for the Office trial.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Perfect Gift

Pros: Plays everything and more than what I wanted it to. Plays CoD4, L4D, TF2, all of med-high settings. Definatly worth it for what it provides. Its got a webcam, and a hidden microphone that I was surprise to find after a game of L4D.

Cons: Im not used to the touchpad, so I went out and bought a USB mouse, specally for the games to play. Speakers are too quite, had to go buy a little set of speakers for it. It is a finger print magnet but a damp cloth rids of them. Lots of Bloatware to remove. Other than that, this laptop truly was a great buy.

Other Thoughts: They have a 64 bit installed BUT it comes with both the 64 bit and 32 disks so I believe you can wipe windows and install the 32 bit if you want. These are recovery disks (so im not 100% percent sure), so im not making any promises.
