5 out of 5 eggsGreat product for the price

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Just plugged in and ran the install CD and setup for my client was a breeze. Optionally, I decided to make sure the firmware was updated even though the device was working fine. Device has good range and 4x 10/100 Ethernet. Tested and found to be true 300Mbps through network. Works great with a CCTV NVR system/IP camera system.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My business specializes in Network installs, and I have to say that "anybody" would be able to install this in seconds. It was very straight forward, and it even automatically detected whether the cable modem had a dynamic or a static IP.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Just received and installed router today. Easy using TP-Links web-based quick setup on my Linux OS 9 desktop system and working well with my Android tablet, too.

Cons: No Complaints noted.

4 out of 5 eggsGood router, until P/S died

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: - easy setup
- enough features to feel secure in using it
- fast speeds

Cons: - power supply died after about 1 year.
Strange in that I had boxed this one up as a "spare" unit and all was working fine at that time. (reason I boxed it up was I bought a bigger and better unit).
My main router died recently and when I went to install this one, NO LIGHTS came on. A voltmeter revealed that this unit's power supply was dead. No voltage output at all.
(yet it worked fine when I boxed it up a couple months back).
Luckily I have a "universal" power supply device, with multiple sized tips, that let me get it going again.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: -Super easy set up
-Decent range
-Quick
-Reliable, doesn't require reboots

Cons: -Looks a little cheap I suppose

Other Thoughts: I've been using TP-Link networking products almost strictly over the past 6 months and have yet to be let down. Great products for the money. While they may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, I'm not going to complain over it with the superior performance/$ their products offer.

5 out of 5 eggsGood So Far

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Quick to Setup, Runs well

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I have only had this for a day but it seemed to connect and run perfectly. Wireless speeds seem good. I run all linux at home, and android, no Windows. I did not used the enclosed software cd, just the http setup interface on the router itself. The firmware seems to support lots of security and other options. i do not see the need to flash it with another firmware. Time will tell if it is reliable, but out of the box, i am happy so far.

4 out of 5 eggsbeware if loading openwrt

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: cheep

Cons: low memory

Other Thoughts: googled loading openwrt on this device...after loading it did not have the memory to load LUCI the gui interface for openwrt. had to configure using the /etc/config files and the uci command.
I like being able to ssh to the unit but I wish I had tried the stock firmware first

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget Router

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Works consistently without any failures.

Cons: Only 100 Mbps, but I knew that before buying.

Other Thoughts: Good simple routes that has tons of options for a stock model. Most importantly, it has been running for months without a hiccup.

5 out of 5 eggsrock solid

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: These are such great routers, I've purchased 3 of these units over the years to expand my homes WIFI presence.

Cons: I flash these units with DD-WRT and they work great, but you only get about half the bandwidth as advertised.
