Pros: See Other Thoughts-

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I forgot to mention in my previous review that I did have this working with my "Big T" USB laptop stick both in the USA and in Argentina, and the shocker was that it wasn't all that hard to set up. Great for areas where you don't have landline broadband but do have cell internet access...maybe at the cottage or hunting camp?

5 out of 5 eggs110/220v 60/50Hz

Pros: Great value- $15 + Free Ship on Eggstra Special.
Had dual voltage power supply.
Had Euro style plug but came with US plug adapter.
Had documentation and warranty info for USA and many Latin Countries.
Support for up to 4 SSID's.
Detachable antenna.

Cons: None noted.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a gift for friends in Argentina which has 220v/50Hz power. While shopping, it was almost impossible to find manufacturer specs for router Volt/Hz and when I did, I would open the box to find out otherwise. I didn't want to be searching for another power supply and didn't have time, so I bought this thing on a whim for $15. It came packed almost like an international edition, had the Euro 2 pin cord which Argentina uses, and plug adapter for USA, the required frequencies and channel for numerous countries, plus addresses for USA and foreign warranty. I set it up here in the USA, worked perfectly right out of the box, then worked perfectly when in South America. Range was decent and no problems connecting with 5 devices simultaneously (although we were probably giving the bandwidth a workout). Setup was relatively simple by browser. One thing though- the setup was asking for some code that was in the box or on the box (to be used with a setup wizard I guess)- couldn't find that, but maybe I lost it in the rush of packing for my extended trip- I just set it up manually using my browser. If you know even the basics of router settings you should have no problems. By the way, if you dont need security, this thing worked directly out of the box. One reviewer praised the metal case- mine was plastic. Setup does show options for up to 4 SSID's but I did not try that. They loved it in Argentina...the cheapest router there would cost almost $100 USD. Its a great value, would buy again in a second.

3 out of 5 eggsUsing with 3G Stick

Pros: Simple to configure and set up. Never bothered with "Wizard" or the CDROM. It is preconfigured with *99# and "APN: internet". I just needed to change the APN to "internet.com" to satisfy my subscriber, Rogers. I am using the Rogers Stick, model MF636.

Cons: Cuts off power to the USB Stick after 30 minutes! The Encore "connects" the Stick to my 3G network fine. The Encore is configured for "Keep Connection". However, after about 30 minutes of constant use and activity, the power to the USB Stick is cut off. I have to unplug and reinsert the stick to restore the connection to the internet. VERY ANNOYING. The Encore appears to have the latest Firmware, 1.0.5. At this point I do not know what to think. I was hoping to maintain the Encore to allowing sharing the 3G service to my wifi-laptop and to a Debit/creditcard terminal for a public event.

Other Thoughts: Will update this post if I learn how to fix the auto-cutoff to the USB port.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as expected for a wireless network

Cons: Wizard would not set up router even after following directions exactly. Bypassing the Wizard was a quick setup.

Other Thoughts: For the price it can't be beat. $15 at the time.

5 out of 5 eggsSteal for the price

Pros: Good 150Mbps connection

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I see that it's back to $50. Not a bargain at that price, but not a bad deal either
