4 out of 5 eggsWell, it does the job

Pros: Works fine most of the time.
The price is right for how it performs.

Cons: Not ideal for gaming, as it occasionally loses packets or takes longer than expected to send/receive.

5 out of 5 eggsMy goto 10/100 router

Pros: I personally own half a dozen of these. once flashed with DD-WRT I set them up as wireless clients to extend connection to areas of my home that get less than good wireless signal to my main router. basically use them as wireless/wired switches. I still own and use the first one i ever had and i have never had one fail/brick on me.

Cons: The antenna's are not your typical 1/4in size (like most wireless nic's) so unless you order after market antenna's with this in mind you aren't likely to have spare antenna's laying around.

Other Thoughts: wall mount brackets! come to think of it every linksys product that comes to mind could those built in mounting slots

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Home WiFi Router

Pros: Very easy to set up! The set up CD walks you thru the whole install and was easy to follow.

Cons: None to this point.

Other Thoughts: I have a satellite Internet connection and did not have any problems. Worked from the moment I completed the installation and has continued to provide an excellent connection for my laptop.

5 out of 5 eggs9 Years!

Pros: Router has served me well for 9 years and it's still running just fine! Day in and day out, it works...but I finally had to order its replacement:(..see cons...

Cons: It simply can't surpass 25Mbps downloads either wired or wireless..I now have 50Mbps cable access, but this router just can't handle it..when I hardwire from the modem to my PC, I hit 57Mbps...connect through the router and it drops to the low 20's. The higher speed is also causing the router to crash leaving me with 0Mbps until I reboot the router and modem.

I haven't canceled my 20Mbps DSLyet, so I hooked up the router that it works fine...back to cable and it crashes now and then..

Other Thoughts: If your access speed is below 25Mbps, you'll be fine...but if you want to go really fast...it just won't do the job.

5 out of 5 eggsInsanity at its finest

Pros: The best router on the market. I owned the GS model (same hardware, different OS) for about 10 years. The thing gave out about a year and a half ago, and it was truly a sad day.
- Some of the best hardware in the business
- Lasts forever
- Stable until hardware gets tired (after 10 years, i fully understand)

Cons: None other than its somewhat slow compared to todays standards.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely, definitely, hands down THE king of routers. Old, tough, resilient and aesthetic, this thing is truly the router to dominate all.

RIP WRT54GS
2001-2012.
You are sorely missed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat home wifi router

Pros: Works great and has a good signal throughout the house.
I bought this to replace my Buffalo G54 router that was 5 or so years old.
I pay for 10Mpbs down and 1Mpbs up and get 11+ down and 1+ up consistantly.
My Vizio TV gets a good signal about 15 or so feet away.
Also priced very reasably and I got it just 4 days.
I would recommend this to friends and family.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Cable company wanted to charge me $8.52 a month for their wifi router and i nearly got one until they told me the price. I would've paid $180 over 3 years with their router. With this one it'll pay for itself in 6-7 months.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!

Pros: Was only $50

Cons: Wifi drops in and out, so you'll have to reset often.
After tech support (during first 90 days) failed twice to help, customer service would replace your product, but you'll have to pay shipping.
You have to repeat your personal information, even though you've registered the product.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a tank!

Pros: So like everyone says, put ddwrt on this puppy and fuhgetabouit... The thing works. Again, it's not N or AC, but if u need a working stable router, get it, flash it, forget about it. I have bought a bunch of these over the years, and they are the best.

Cons: Doesn't come in teal

5 out of 5 eggsRock-solid workhorse.

Pros: I've owned a half dozen of these, and dealt with scores of them in the field.

One of the best routers ever made. Add DD-WRT or other firmwares like Tomato etc., and you're golden. Still well worth buying where you don't need N-type speeds.

Cons: None. Worst I can say is that these can occasionally crash under heavy use. Probably not a hardware issue really.

Other Thoughts: The radio can fail prematurely in this router if the user cranks up transmission power too high without adding cooling of some kind. Possible to do with custom firmwares.
